Chapter 305 Eliza's Trickery
Cecily was taken aback by such a look.
When Darian realized it was Cecily, the iciness in his eyes flickered and vanished, replaced by a softness as he gazed at her with a hint of surprise. "You woke up so early?" he asked.
Cecily looked at him, set down the blanket in her hand. "Yes, did you sleep here last night?"
Darian nodded, replied, his voice slightly hoarse and deep.
He held Cecily's wrist without letting go, seeing she didn't make a move to leave, he pulled her to sit on his lap, his arm around her waist. "Don’t you want to sleep for a bit longer?"
Cecily looked seriously into Darian's eyes, didn't answer him, but asked seriously, "Darian, what happened to you last night?"
"What?"
"After talking to Ophelia, your expression changed, what was wrong with you?"
Darian's eyes darkened slightly, Ophelia's words echoed in his mind once again, his hand around Cecily's waist unconsciously tightened a bit.
Cecily noticed Darian's change in expression, becoming more worried.
Whatever Ophelia said last night must not be simple.
Darian quickly composed himself, lifted his gaze, and gently caressed her delicate cheek. “Nothing. Don't overthink."
Cecily pursed her lips, understanding Darian's thoughts, he was trying to hide something from her; didn't want to talk about it.
Well, she wasn't his wife; there was really no need for him to report everything to her.
After gazing at Darian for a brief moment, Cecily gently extracted herself from his embrace. "Okay, it's nothing. If you're tired, you can go back to your room and rest. The presidential suite has multiple rooms. I'll head out first.”
After Cecily finished speaking, she walked directly towards the door in large strides.
She reached out to grab the door handle, about to open it, when a large hand reached out from behind and directly pressed the door shut.
A familiar scent enveloped Cecily as the tall and straight man directly pulled her into his arms.
"Are you angry?"
"No." Cecily pushed the hand that held her waist.
But this person held her tightly, unmoved.
"You say you're not? Lying."
Cecily broke free from his embrace, lifting her head to meet his gaze with a hint of displeasure. "If you know the reason, why don't you just say it?”
A hint of darkness flashed in Darian's eyes, and he said lightly, "It's just a fabricated thing; no need to talk about it."
"Is that so? If it's a fabricated thing, why did you look so upset last night, why did you frown even in your sleep?" Cecily asked one question after another.
If it was as insignificant as he claimed, he wouldn't have been so concerned. However, his reactions indicated to Cecily that whatever he referred to as 'fabricated' was clearly troubling him.
For a moment, Darian didn't know what he should say.
In the silence, two knocks sounded at the door.
Larkin asked from outside, "Boss, are you there?"
Taking advantage of the moment, Cecily pushed Darian aside, turned, opened the door, and exited. Larkin watched as Cecily swiftly departed, then turned to look at Darian, who appeared unwell, leaving him stunned.
"Boss?"
Darian pinched his brow. "What's the matter?"
"Bennett's Family just announced that they have confirmed the real Ms. Bennett." Larkin informed Darian of the latest news.
Darian walked inside, sat on the single sofa, and responded.
The Bennett family must have announced this news to silence the rumors, so they first announced this news to the public, Darian wasn't surprised by their actions.
"Is there anything else?"
"Yes... it's still about this matter, right after Bennett's Family announced it, Eliza took an interview with the reporters, using the identity of Ms. Bennett, take a look."
Larkin opened the video and handed it to Darian.
In the video, Eliza confidently introduced her identity and deliberately revealed the scar on her arm.
Everyone who attended the banquet knew that Sandra Thompson had pointed out that the 'Cecily' with the scar on her arm was Eliza.
And now, by using the identity of Ms. Bennett, she directly confirmed her identity as Ms. Bennett.
.Darian raised an eyebrow. "She played a trick on those executives of the Bennett Group."
Desmond just said they had found the real Ms. Bennett, without specifying who.
And Eliza's move directly acknowledged this identity for her.
Now everyone knew that the one with the scar on her arm was the real Ms. Bennett.
