Chapter 468 Do You Hate Me for What I Did to You Before?

"Owen!"

Cecily grabbed Owen's arm, looking anxiously at Sawyer. "How did this happen so suddenly?"

"Owen found out the truth about Patrick's car accident."

Cecily glanced down at the papers scattered on the floor, full of evidence against Josep.

She was shocked. She had considered this possibility but didn't expect it to be true.

Owen's grip tightened on her arm, his voice hoarse. "I called you here to tell you something. Don't tell Darian yet."

Cecily frowned. He didn't want her to tell Darian?

But this involved Patrick. How could they keep it from Darian?

She remembered something Darian once said. "He is Owen's only son."

Did Owen still want to protect Josep?

"Miss Watson, Owen has fainted," Sawyer shouted.

When Cecily saw Owen's condition, she didn't hesitate and started examining him.

Sawyer quickly said, "I'll get a doctor."

"No time. Get some people to help move him to the bed."

Cecily made a quick decision, then took out a silver needle kit from her bag and asked someone to find alcohol for disinfection.

Cecily calmed herself, diagnosed Owen, and found his acupuncture points to administer the needles.

Sawyer, who was always efficient, quietly called for help and then hid in the shadows, informing Josep over the phone that Owen had discovered the truth.

"My dad fainted? Sawyer, why?" Josep asked, sensing something was wrong.

Sawyer, feigning anger, retorted, "Josep, don't you know what you've done? Owen found out about what you did in the past and was so angry he fainted."

Josep was stunned.

Owen knew about what he did in the past?!

Josep clenched his fist. "How is he now?"

Sawyer glanced around. "Miss Watson is treating him. He should be fine."

Sawyer's words were a reminder to Josep that Owen would be fine and that he should act quickly.

Josep gritted his teeth. "Got it."

Josep hung up and paced anxiously.

Owen knew he was responsible for Patrick's death and would never let him go.

He couldn't wait any longer.

Otherwise, everything would be over for him.

Josep's eyes flashed with a ruthless glint.

Maybe it was time to advance his plan.

'Dad, you always favored Patrick and Darian over me. Don't blame me for being ruthless,' Josep thought.

He called Mark over and took out the medicine he had gotten from Eliza.

Mark was puzzled. "Sir, what is this?"

Josep glanced at the time. It was almost lunchtime. He stood up, handed the medicine to Mark, and said, "Tell the kitchen to pack a lunch and put this medicine in the food. Then find a servant to deliver it to Darian at the office, saying it's from Sandra."

Sandra sometimes worried that Darian would be too busy to eat at the office and would send lunch over, so saying it was from Sandra wouldn't raise suspicion.

Josep's eyes grew even more sinister.

"Be careful. Don't let anyone find out."

Mark nodded. "Got it. I'll handle it right away."

"And get some of our people ready nearby, just in case." Josep clenched his fist. He knew Owen wouldn't let him off the hook, so he had to be prepared.

"Understood."

Josep walked to the window, staring out with dark, intense eyes.

It was a risky move, and he couldn't deny he was scared. If it worked, he'd be free of worries. If it failed, he was done for.

Cecily administered the needles to Owen, and after half an hour, his color improved, and he gradually woke up.

Cecily sighed in relief when she saw him wake up. "Owen, feeling better?"

Owen closed his eyes and nodded slightly.

Sawyer stepped forward, concerned. "Owen, it was a really close call. Luckily, Miss Watson was here."

Owen turned his gaze to Cecily, his silver hair and pale face making him look exceptionally old.

"You should leave," Owen said to Sawyer in a hoarse voice.

Sawyer pretended to be extremely worried and said, "Owen, you're not well. Let me stay and take care of you. I wouldn't feel at ease leaving you alone."

"Out," Owen's voice was firm.

Cecily turned to Sawyer. "Sawyer, you should go. I'll take care of him."

Sawyer had no choice but to nod. "Alright, Miss Watson."

"No problem."

Sawyer walked out and closed the door behind him.

"Lock the door," Owen said to Cecily, struggling to sit up.

Cecily knew Owen had something important to say when she saw he was being so cautious. She didn't hesitate and locked the door.

The room was well soundproofed, and once the door was closed, no sound could be heard from outside.

Sawyer heard the door lock and frowned.

"Sawyer." A servant pushed Sandra over. Sandra saw Sawyer standing alone outside Owen's door and curiously asked, "Sawyer, what are you doing outside Owen's door?"

Sawyer remained calm. "Miss Watson just arrived and is talking to Owen. I don't know why they locked the door."

"Cecily is here?"

Sandra looked at the closed door.

It seemed strange to lock the door in broad daylight. "Did something happen?"

Sawyer shook his head. "Nothing happened. Owen probably has something important to discuss with Miss Watson."

Sandra nodded and said no more.

When Owen saw Cecily lock the door, he struggled to sit up, and Cecily immediately went to support him. "You shouldn't get up now."

Owen waved his hand, indicating he was fine.

Cecily didn't know what Owen wanted to do, so she just supported him.

"Do you hate me for what I did to you before?"

Owen walked to a cabinet and asked the question calmly, with a hint of weariness.

"Since you chose to be here alone with me, it means you trust me. There's no need to ask about hate. I understand your actions from your perspective."
