Chapter 412 Teaching Cecily a Lesson
"Then just keep standing here in the cold. If you freeze to death, all the better, and everyone will be happy."
With that, Darian stopped wasting words with Bryan, rolled up the car window, and drove away.
Bryan remained unmoved, standing there, his gaze fixed on that window, his mind filled with countless thoughts.
Cecily stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at Bryan standing motionless at the door like a statue. Perhaps because of their blood relation, Cecily kindly asked the servant to persuade him to leave.
When the servant's persuasion failed, Cecily decided not to bother with him anymore and turned back to her bedroom.
They were both stubborn people. She had tried to persuade him, but if he didn't leave, catching a cold or getting sick would on him.
The next morning, Cecily instinctively glanced out the window after getting up.
To her surprise, Bryan was still standing there.
He had stood there all night without moving.
'Why is he doing this? Does he want Mom to feel sorry for him and be willing to see him?' Cecily thought to herself.
Unfortunately, Vivienne was a heartless person. Cecily could see it, and naturally, Vivienne could see it too.
She simply chose to ignore it.
There were some things that Cecily, even as a daughter, couldn't say much about, so she chose not to mention them.
Cecily had breakfast with Rowan and Griffin and got them ready for school. Vivienne, draped in a plain shawl, came downstairs and called out to Cecily.
"What's up, Mom?"
"Take Gary with you when you go out. He can protect you."
"I'm just taking Rowan and Griffin to school and then going to the office. There shouldn't be any danger."
Vivienne was still worried. "Trust me on this."
Hearing Vivienne's insistence, Cecily didn't agure. "Alright, I'll call Gary to come with us."
"Go ahead, and be careful on the road."
Cecily glanced at Bryan standing at the door from the corner of her eye. "Mom, if you don't want to see him, just make him leave. Having him stand there all the time must be uncomfortable for you too."
Vivienne frowned slightly. "If talking to him worked, we wouldn't have been in this situation. He's always like this, doing whatever he wants without caring about others' feelings. Just ignore him and take the kids to school."
After all, they were both headstrong and stubborn people, so Cecily didn't say anything more.
After dropping the kids off at school, Cecily went to the office as usual.
In the hospital room, Freya leaned against the bed, looking at the chat interface on her phone, a dark smile forming on her lips.
She had contacted a top-notch assassin organization. She was determined to make Cecily disappear.
However, these assassin organizations required a deposit upfront. She had money, but this money couldn't come from her account, or it would be easily traced.
Freya pondered for a while and then called Aurelia.
She muttered to herself, "Cecily, you brought this upon yourself. You ruined everything the moment you came back. The position of Mrs. Fitzgerald is definitely mine."
Before long, Aurelia arrived. Seeing Freya lying weakly on the bed, Aurelia quickly walked to her side.
"Freya, what's wrong?"
Aurelia looked at Freya's pale face, red eyes, and pale lips, feeling that she had suffered a severe blow.
"Aurelia, you're here." Freya struggled to sit up. "Please, have a seat."
Seeing her in this state, Aurelia had no mind to sit. "What happened to you? How did you end up like this?"
Jennifer, who was beside them, wiped her tears and said, "What else could have happened? We have no power or influence and are just here to be bullied."
"Mom, stop talking."
Seeing their hesitant looks, Aurelia became even more anxious. "Freya, what on earth happened? If you still consider me a friend, tell me quickly."
Aurelia was impatient and didn't think things through. Her question played right into Freya's hands.
Freya exchanged a subtle glance with Jennifer.
Jennifer sighed repeatedly. "It's about what happened last night. Freya kept thinking there was something wrong. After all, Victor's condition clearly showed he was drugged, and you almost ended up being raped by Victor.
Freya felt it was unfair for you and Victor, so she went to confront Cecily. But Cecily was so arrogant. She claimed to be the eldest daughter of the Bennett family and said that even if she did it, we couldn't do anything about it. She also said..."
Aurelia became angrier as she listened. "What else did she say?"
"She even said you both deserved it. Freya couldn't stand it and got into a conflict with her. But you know, we are no match for her. Freya was humiliated and went home to take pills to end her life."
As she spoke, Jennifer covered her mouth and cried.
Aurelia, in disbelief, raised her voice several notches. "How dare she be so arrogant! Freya, how could you be so foolish to take pills? If you died, it would really please Cecily."
Jennifer chimed in, "I told Freya the same thing. If she died, Cecily would be very happy."
Freya and Jennifer were making things up, knowing that Aurelia would never go to Cecily to verify the truth.
Freya's eyes flickered a few times before she lowered her gaze. "It's my fault for being useless, unable to seek justice for you, and getting humiliated for nothing."
Hearing Freya's words, Aurelia became even angrier. "I didn't expect Cecily to be so vicious. All her previous kindness was just an act."
Jennifer patted Aurelia's shoulder and said, "She got your brother kicked out of the company. How could such a person not be vicious? But don't be angry. After all, we can't fight her. We have to endure it."
"Who says so?" Aurelia gritted her teeth. "Should we just let Cecily continue to harm people?"
Seeing her plan succeed, Freya continued to fan the flames. "But we have no way to fight her. She is the only eldest daughter of the Bennett family in Detroit, with money and power."
"The only eldest daughter of the Bennett family? I'm the only eldest daughter of the Fitzgerald family. What does she count for in front of me?"
A gleam of satisfaction flashed in Freya's eyes.
"We can't let her be so arrogant. Otherwise, she really won't take us seriously. If she can harm us once, she can harm us a second time. I have a way to teach her a lesson."
Hearing this, Aurelia immediately asked, "What way?"
"Spend some money, hire some people to teach her a lesson, make her remember it. Unfortunately, my mom and I don't have much money."
"If it can really teach Cecily a lesson, money is not a problem. The last thing I lack is money. How much do you need? I'll give it to you."
Freya and Jennifer almost couldn't help but smile.
Freya stepped forward, took Aurelia's hand, and hesitated. "Maybe we should forget it. I'm a bit scared."
"Scared of what? She harmed us first. Are we not allowed to fight back? Does she really think we're easy to bully? You're just too indecisive and easy to bully. It's just teaching her a lesson, nothing serious will happen."
