Chapter 428 Naturally, We Can't Let Them Go

Cecily didn't bother with them anymore. From what they said, Darian was already awake. She could relax now.

They were guarding the place and wouldn't let her in. Arguing would just alert them. Cecily shot Cassian a look when he saw her.

Cassian, seeing Cecily with Josep and Olivia, got the hint and stayed put.

Cecily raised an eyebrow at Josep and Olivia. "Alright, I'm outta here."

Olivia rolled her eyes. "Smart choice."

Cecily walked away slowly. As she left, Cassian blended into the crowd and followed her.

Olivia snorted in Cecily's direction but noticed Josep staring at his phone.

Olivia asked, "What are you looking at?"

Josep smiled and handed her the phone.

It showed a video of Jennifer clashing with Cecily and Vivienne in front of the operating room that morning, accusing them of being ungrateful. A bystander had captured it.

The video was online and getting a lot of views, with people sympathizing with Freya and Jennifer.

In the video, Cecily and Vivienne looked like the bad guys and were getting slammed in the comments.

Olivia's face lit up with a gloating smile. "Serves them right. The harsher, the better."

Josep sneered. "Not enough."

He took the phone back, walked to the side, and made a call. "Get some media to blow this up."

After the call, a satisfied smile spread across Josep's face. "Let it get messy, the messier, the better."

Cassian and Cecily found a quieter spot. Cassian sat across from her.

"Cecily."

She looked at him. "Got anything?"

"Yeah."

Cassian handed her printed evidence, clear and concise.

The IP address of the anonymous account contacting the Shadow Strike Syndicate was from this hospital, on the day Freya tried to kill herself. They were here.

And the personal info of the anonymous account traced back to Freya.

The account that transferred money was an anonymous foreign account, and the holder was a stranger unrelated to the case.

After Cecily finished reading, Cassian said, "We're looking into the person who transferred the money. It'll take some time."

"They're really careful," Cecily said, rubbing her chin.

Jennifer and Freya had been cautious, but they didn't know Cecily had Blaise, another assassin, on her side. Otherwise, it would've been tough to uncover.

The individual who executed the money transfer was even more cautious, utilizing an anonymous foreign account, a feat beyond Jennifer and Freya's capabilities.

Jennifer and Freya always relied on Bryan. Even if they had the money, they wouldn't use their own accounts; it would trace back to them.

So, while they contacted the assassins, they didn't transfer the money themselves.

If it wasn't Jennifer and Freya, it had to be Josep. Given the seriousness of the situation, Josep must have been well-prepared to make such a transfer.

Cecily now suspected it would be hard to trace further.

"Cecily?"

"Cecily?"

Cecily snapped back to reality. "What is it?"

"Did you think of something? You seemed deep in thought," Cassian asked.

Cecily sighed. "I was thinking it might be very difficult to find out who really transferred the money."

Just as Cecily finished speaking, Cassian got a call.

"Cassian, the person we were investigating is dead, and there's no useful information on his phone."

In other words, they couldn't trace the person behind him.

Cassian frowned and looked at Cecily.

Seeing his expression, Cecily immediately knew she was right.

Cassian hung up and regretfully told Cecily, "You were right. The transferer is dead. We can't find out anything."

Cecily was shocked.

As expected.

Josep dared to murder his own brother, acting ruthlessly and cautiously, ensuring no one could trace it back to him.

"Cecily, what are your plans now?"

Cecily pondered for a moment. "The person behind the money transfer is too complicated to trace easily. Let's deal with what we have now."

"If you need any help, let us know anytime."

Cecily nodded. "Okay, thank you. And thank Blaise for me too."

"Alright, Cecily, I'll be going now." Cassian's task was complete, so he didn't stay longer.

Cecily sat alone for a while before slowly getting up to leave.

Vivienne happened to come over and, seeing Cecily, quickly walked up. "Cecily, why are you sitting outside?"

"Mom, I just met with Blaise's people."

Vivienne's eyes flashed. "Is there a result?"

"Yes, it's Freya and Jennifer. The evidence is conclusive." Cecily handed the evidence to Vivienne.

Vivienne glanced at it and looked at Cecily. "As expected, it's them. Leave this matter to me. You don't need to worry about it."

Cecily held Vivienne's hand. "Mom, how do you plan to handle this?"

Vivienne smiled, her eyes cold. "Naturally, they won't get away with it."

If this evidence were handed to the police, Bryan could still protect them if he was determined. But Vivienne didn't want to give him that chance.

Cecily looked at Vivienne, linking her arm with hers, and smiled gently. "Mom, I feel like you've changed."

Vivienne patted Cecily's hand. "For you, I should change my ways."

In the ward, Darian had many questions for Cecily, but she never showed up. He pressed the button on the wall.

Soon, a doctor came in, along with Josep and Olivia.

Josep saw Darian trying to get up and stepped forward to stop him. "Darian, where are you going?"

"Discharge."

"No way, Mr. Fitzgerald. You just had surgery this morning. Your body is not fit for discharge," the doctor quickly stopped him.

Darian coldly stared at the intervener, making the doctor shiver and retract his hand.

Olivia, standing by, said snidely, "Darian, Cecily is with another man. Why are you still looking for her?"

Darian's expression didn't change, but a coldness spread in his deep eyes, making everyone shiver. "Do I need you to tell me what kind of woman she is?"
