Chapter 388 Daddy, Mommy Was Bullied, Can You Tolerate That?
Upon hearing this, a heavy sense of satisfaction flashed in the eyes of Jennifer and Freya.
They had been scheming for so long, and this was the effect they desired.
Cecily took a deep look at Bryan, but there was no sign of fear in her eyes.
Bryan raised his hand slightly, and Sam led people towards Cecily. Sam hesitated and said, "Sir, please reconsider. No matter what, Miss Watson is Mrs. Collins's daughter, you..."
"I have already tolerated her repeatedly for Vivienne's sake. What more do you want me to do?"
"But..." If Cecily were truly harmed, Vivienne would never let it go.
Bryan's icy gaze swept over like a blade, and Sam had no choice but to fall silent.
Jennifer gave Freya a look, and Freya pretended to persuade. "Dad, let it go. I don't think Cecily did it on purpose. It's no big deal if I suffer a little."
"You are my daughter. Why should you be bullied by someone else's daughter?"
Jennifer's eyes flashed, and a hint of a smile appeared as she looked at Cecily.
The "someone else" Bryan referred to was, of course, the man who fathered Cecily with Vivienne.
Although Bryan loved Vivienne, he hated that she had aborted their child and had a child with another man.
If Vivienne and Cecily played ball with him, he might still extend his love to Cecily. But if they defied him, they would only face his wrath and disdain.
"Sam!"
"Miss Watson, I'm really sorry." Sam braced himself and stepped forward, expecting Cecily to resist fiercely, but she remained calm.
Though there were only thirteen steps, looking down from the top, it was still quite high.
Sam was still reluctant to act and advised. "Miss Watson, just apologize and yield. Sir doesn't really want to hurt you. It's just his temper. If you yield, this matter will be over."
Cecily looked at the stairs below indifferently and asked, "When they had conflicts with my mother before, did yielding make it better?"
Sam pressed his lips together, unsure how to respond.
Because Vivienne had never yielded.
Cecily sighed softly and murmured, "Does he really love my mother?"
Sam looked troubled and thought for a moment before saying, "Of course he does. Sir loves Madam the most."
But he also hated her, as the child Vivienne aborted was Bryan's lifelong pain.
Love and hate tangled up—this was how Sam had seen Bryan's feelings for Vivienne over the years.
"Really?"
Cecily smiled faintly.
If she got into trouble today because of Freya and Jennifer, her mother would never forgive him. Knowing this would be the outcome, he still went ahead. 'Does he really love my mom that much?' she wondered.
Downstairs, Bryan glared angrily. "Cecily, I'll ask you one last time. Will you apologize to Freya?"
"I did nothing wrong. Why should I apologize?"
She softly retorted, a pair of beautiful eyes reflecting cold indifference.
"Sam!" Bryan's hand, clenched tightly into a fist as he shouted sternly.
Cecily looked at the people below, seeing the barely contained glee in Jennifer and Freya's eyes.
A mocking smile appeared on her lips.
Sam's gaze was complicated. He didn't want to do this, but he couldn't disobey Bryan's orders.
"Miss Watson, I'm sorry."
Sam's palm landed on Cecily's shoulder. Though he controlled his strength, Cecily still fell.
At the moment she fell, Bryan's heart tightened, and his hands instinctively reached out, only to be forcefully reeled them in.
She brought this upon herself.
A loud crash resounded, and everyone thought Cecily would tumble down in a sorry state, but she didn't.
Cecily had some skills; she wasn't just a pushover. As she forced herself to stabilize, her ankle twisted, and pain surged through her.
Cecily gritted her teeth.'How could I be fine?' she wondered.
Freya bit her lip, her face full of resentment. 'Why didn't this bitch fall to her death?'
Jennifer gently patted Freya's hand, signaling her to be patient.
Bryan's deepening eyes were fixed on Cecily. At some point, his back had been soaked with sweat.
The moment Cecily fell, his heart had plummeted as well.
If Cecily were truly hurt, Vivienne would never forgive him.
Cecily stood up, her gaze unwavering as she looked at him.
Bryan's eyes darkened, and he finally gritted his teeth, saying, "This matter ends here. No one is to pursue it further."
"Not pursue it? Bryan, do you think I'm dead?"
The double doors at the entrance were suddenly pushed open, and Vivienne walked in, seething with anger.
She glanced at Cecily, whose forehead was covered in cold sweat, and immediately understood. She strode directly towards Freya and Jennifer.
"Vivienne..."
Two swift slaps landed.
Before Jennifer and Freya could react, a stinging numbness spread across their cheeks.
"Vivienne!" Bryan roared.
Instantly, the room fell silent.
Vivienne glared at Bryan with anger and asked without any hesitation, "Bryan, do you think I'm dead?"
"I had told you. If you dare touch my daughter, I'll fight you to the end." Vivienne grabbed Bryan by the collar. "Why did you still do it?"
"I gave her a chance, but what can I do? She inherited your stubbornness too well, never willing to bow, to yield, to apologize. Ask her yourself. Hasn't she made any mistakes?"
"Did you give her a chance to explain? Did you ask her about the whole story? You only believe Jennifer and Freya. You're always like this. Bryan, we're done."
Bryan squinted his eyes. "What do you mean?"
Vivienne extended her hand, and Desmond, who had come with her, handed over a divorce agreement.
Vivienne slapped it against Bryan's chest, "This is what I mean. From now on, you can live with them. I don't want to see you anymore."
Bryan didn't take them, letting the divorce papers scatter on the ground.
Vivienne's delicate features were resolute.
"Cecily, let's go." Vivienne grasped Cecily's cold hand.
Cecily, enduring the pain in her ankle, walked to Vivienne's side.
Vivienne looked at Cecily, her resolute and cold demeanor instantly turning to concern. "Cecily, are you hurt? What did they do to you?"
Cecily looked at Vivienne, her barely held-together emotions finally breaking, a hint of vulnerability in her eyes. She shook her head lightly and said, "Mom, let's go. I don't want to stay here."
Vivienne tightened her grip on Cecily's hand. "Alright, I'll take you away."
"Vivienne, I don't agree to the divorce. If you insist, don't blame me for being ruthless."
"What? Are you going to imprison me? Go ahead and try."
Vivienne had already prepared for this over the past year. If he still wanted to trap her like before, it was impossible.
Vivienne resolutely led Cecily away.
"Mom, how did you know I was here?"
Vivienne helped Cecily into the car. "I knew something was up when I heard Bryan was at Silver Frost Capital this morning. I asked around and found out you were taken by Bryan's people. Are you alright? You look terrible."
Cecily blinked and said, "I just twisted my ankle, nothing serious."
"Let me see." Vivienne anxiously checked Cecily's ankle.
"It's fine, Mom. I'll just ice it when I get home."
"It's swollen. Of course, it's serious. We're going to the hospital." Vivienne immediately instructed the driver.
Cecily also felt she needed medical attention, so she didn't refuse.
In the Evening,Darian returned home to find Rowan and Griffin already there, but there was no sign of Cecily.
Having two children suddenly in the house, Darian felt a bit out of place.
Seeing Darian, Rowan, and Griffin, who were sitting in the living room munching on apples, called out, "Daddy."
Darian paused for a moment.
It was a familiar yet strange term.
He walked over and stared at the two boys.
'Do I really have two sons?' he wondered.
"Daddy, what are you looking at?"
Darian withdrew his probing gaze and said, "Nothing. Where's Cecily? Did she just leave you here?"
"Mommy called and said she's at Grandma's. Daddy, do you miss Mommy? If you do, take us to find her," Griffin said, blinking his big eyes expectantly at Darian.
Darian smiled. "I don't miss her at all."
Rowan reached out and tugged on Darian's sleeve. "But Grandma said Mommy is hurt."
"She's hurt?" Darian's dark eyes narrowed.
Griffin nodded vigorously. "Yes, Mommy was bullied. Daddy, can you tolerate that?"
