Chapter 361 Are They All Crazy?
Darian had everything arranged well in advance. Now, they were both being wheeled into the operating room simultaneously.
Darian contacted Aurelie, who was Cecily's best friend, as Cecily would need someone to accompany her after the surgery.
Outside the operating room, Aurelie paced back and forth, unable to believe it when she received Darian's call.
She hadn't expected Cecily's eyes to be so severely injured, nor had she imagined that Darian would donate his corneas to Cecily.
Learning these two things at once left Aurelie's mind blank, feeling as if she were dreaming.
Larkin was even more anxious. Darian's decision was undoubtedly insane.
Unsure of what to do, he called Hayden and Declan.
When Hayden and Declan heard the news, they rushed over as quickly as possible.
Hayden, with a look of urgency in his eyes, grabbed Larkin's arm. "How long have they been in there?"
Larkin immediately replied, "Less than ten minutes."
Upon hearing this, Hayden and Declan rushed to the door of the operating room.
Seeing this, Aurelie's face tightened, and she reached out to stop them, "What do you think you're doing?"
Their expressions were ten times colder than usual, and Hayden clenched his fists, "Step aside."
"I won't. The surgery has already started. Do you intend to force your way into the operating room?"
"This surgery cannot proceed. We can find another way for Cecily's eyes, but we absolutely cannot use Darian's corneas."
Hayden felt like his head was about to explode.
They were all crazy.
He finally understood why Cecily had that expression when she asked him to follow Darian to the hospital that day.
Cecily was a smart person. She must have guessed what Darian intended to do at that time.
But she said nothing, did nothing to stop it, pretending to know nothing, allowing Darian to go through with it, allowing Darian to give her his corneas.
Hayden sneered. He had previously thought Cecily was a decent person and genuinely respected her, but he hadn't expected her to be so selfish. How was her current behavior any different from Ophelia or Eliza?
Aurelie still stood with her arms outstretched, not allowing them to take a step closer, "Everything is Darian's choice. You all..."
Hayden cut her off forcefully. "That's because Darian found out that Cecily donated a kidney to him. He's driven by guilt. As the CEO of Fitzgerald Group, he's responsible for all his employees. Have you thought about the consequences of his blindness? We can't let you do this."
People's hearts are always biased. For Hayden and Declan, between Darian and Cecily, they obviously cared more about the former, so they absolutely did not agree with this matter.
And for Aurelie, it was the same. Compared to Darian, Aurelie cared more about Cecily, so she supported this decision.
Aurelie didn't care at all about what Hayden had just said; it wasn't her concern.
Since Darian had made this decision, he should handle the consequences that followed.
She only knew that Darian was willing to give his corneas to Cecily.
That was enough for her to block them with all her might.
"Yes, Darian is the president of Fitzgerald Group, so he's more important, right? You said Cecily donated a kidney to him before, right? So Cecily can donate to him, but he can't repay Cecily? No matter what you say today, I won't let you through."
"You! Unreasonable." Hayden was furious. "Declan, call Owen and get Mr. Fitzgerald here."
Declan was completely on the same page as Hayden, "I've already called. Mr. Fitzgerald is on his way."
At that moment, Aurelie's phone rang, and she answered it immediately, as if seeing a savior.
Hayden tried to pull Aurelie away, but she clung to her phone and shouted, "I'm telling you, I'm pregnant with Nathaniel's child. If you push me, I'll fall."
Hayden's hand paused, freezing in mid-air.
Aurelie stood with her belly out, and she had an air of "just try it if you dare".
After a few seconds, Hayden clenched his fist and roughly pulled Aurelie aside.
"Nathaniel, help! Someone's trying to kill your child."
The man on the other end of the phone could imagine Aurelie's frantic gestures from her shouting and chuckled, "You're pregnant with my child?"
He stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray, and the woman in his arms sensibly got up, "Where is Mr. Kensington going?"
"Ah! Nathaniel, help!"
Nathaniel grabbed his coat and smiled, "I'm going to save my not-yet-formed child."
As he walked, he asked, "Where are you?"
"At the hospital, outside the operating room. I'm ready to fight them!"
Hayden and Declan glanced at Aurelie's belly. Faced with a pregnant woman, they didn't know what to do.
Damn, this was really tough.
They were making such a commotion that passing nurses couldn't help but come over to remind them to be quiet.
Hayden grabbed a nurse and said, "Go in there and tell them to stop the surgery immediately."
"Stop the surgery?" The nurse looked troubled, "But the surgery has already started. Is there something wrong?"
Hayden irritably ran his fingers through his hair, "Who told you to start so soon?"
The nurse, baffled by Hayden's anger, replied, "Sir, we always sign consent forms before starting surgery. What's going on?"
Hayden gritted his teeth, his gaze fixed on the operating room door, and reached out to open it.
They couldn't delay any longer; if they did, Darian would truly go blind.
Aurelie used all her strength to block Hayden.
"Move aside. Don't make me get physical."
Hayden, a spoiled rich kid from Silver Frost Capital, could be reasonable if you didn't provoke him, but if you did, he might even hit a woman.
Hayden raised his hand to pull Aurelie away. Aurelie, thinking he was really going to hit her, curled up in fear but still didn't step back.
