Chapter 663 Intimidating Cecily

"My husband is totally on board with my decision, so you don't need to stress about it," Cecily said, making Keaen chuckle.

"How can I not stress? If you stay here and Mr. Fitzgerald heads back to Silver Frost Capital, you two will be living apart. That could put a strain on your relationship," Keaen replied.

Cecily turned to Keaen, "Thanks for your concern, but there's no need to worry about us."

The conversation between Cecily and Keaen grew tense.

Cecily wasn't naive; she could tell that Keaen was practically telling her to go back to Silver Frost Capital.

Keaen laughed lightly and nodded, "Maybe I'm overthinking it. Just don't regret it later."

Cecily smiled calmly and said nothing more.

The elevator doors opened.

Cecily walked out, with Hunter and Keaen following behind. Hunter whispered, "She really seems like she wants to stay at the company long-term. I don't know what Vivienne is thinking, letting Cecily join the company without showing up herself. Don't you find that strange?"

Vivienne hadn't been around for a while, and Hunter had heard that Bryan was looking for her everywhere.

Logically speaking, their relationship should have eased somewhat for the sake of their daughter, Cecily.

Vivienne shouldn't be avoiding Bryan like she used to. So, Vivienne's disappearance likely had nothing to do with Bryan.

That made things interesting.

Bryan and Cecily were both here, but Vivienne was hiding.

Keaen glanced at Cecily ahead of them. Seeing her calmly staying at the company every day, he didn't think much of Vivienne's absence.

Keaen said, "You know Vivienne well. Disappearing is common for her. Look how calm Cecily is; Vivienne is probably hiding from Bryan somewhere and might come back any day."

Hunter squinted, "I don't think it's that simple. If it were nothing, why would she arrange for someone else to handle Cecily's first day at the company and not show up herself? What could be more important than her daughter?"

Keaen said, "Should I look into it?" Keaen sensed something was off after hearing Hunter.

Hunter said, "How would you investigate? If Vivienne wants to hide something, she leaves no trace. Finding out what she's hiding won't be easy."

Keaen said, "It's not easy, but the people around her should know something."

Hunter chuckled and shook his head, "The person who knows Vivienne best is Desmond, and he's tight-lipped. Getting anything out of him would be harder than investigating."

"So there's no way," Keaen frowned.

Hunter said, "No rush. I just found it odd and mentioned it. If Vivienne really has something going on, we shouldn't be the ones worried. Besides, since she let Cecily join the company, I don't believe she won't show up at all."

As they whispered, Cecily suddenly stopped and looked back at them. They looked up to see Cecily staring at them, making them feel guilty.

Cecily found it amusing to see them startled by her sudden stop.

She said, "Today marks my official commencement at the company. Why don't you arrange a temporary high-level meeting so I can formally meet the company's senior management?"

The two stood there, not immediately responding.

Cecily smiled, "You wouldn't refuse such a small request, would you?"

Hunter thought for a few seconds and then nodded, "Of course not, it's a small matter. I'll arrange a temporary high-level meeting in an hour."

Cecily naively thanked Hunter, "Thank you."

She then turned and walked into her office, which had been arranged the day before.

Keaen was surprised that Hunter agreed to help Cecily, "Hunter, why did you agree to help Cecily?"

"Help? She just joined the company. This is our chance to intimidate her," Hunter smirked, a hint of malice in his eyes.

Keaen paused and then understood, "I get it. We need to show her who's in charge here."

The company was full of factions, and they had their own influence after being there for years. Making things difficult for the newcomer Cecily would be easy.

Asking them for help? Who knew what Cecily was thinking?

Ridiculous.

In her office, Cecily received a call from Darian, who was worried and called to check on her.

Standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, Cecily looked at the view outside and chuckled, "They're probably thinking about how to mess with me right now."

Cecily knew exactly what they were planning. On her first day at the company, they wouldn't miss the chance to give her a hard time.

Cecily said, "Don't worry, I can handle it. If I can't deal with this, I won't need them to kick me out; I'll leave the company myself."
