Chapter 682 The Feeling of Having a Father's Support

Cecily couldn't help but shudder inside.

She quickly looked up and saw a figure walking in from the doorway.

Against the light, Cecily couldn't quite make out who it was until the person got closer. It was Bryan.

Bryan's eyes were dark and his face haggard. It looked like he hadn't shaved in days, with stubble on his chin and dark circles under his eyes, but this didn't diminish the aura of authority around him.

Hunter and Keaen turned their heads to look behind them. Hunter frowned. "Bryan?"

Bryan looked at the two coldly.

He didn't know what had happened; he only heard Hunter saying that even if Giselle was at fault, Cecily, being older, should accommodate Giselle instead of making things more difficult for her.

Bryan's face darkened even more as he listened, already in a bad mood.

He asked again, "Why should my daughter accommodate yours? Is your daughter more noble and mine inferior?"

Hunter's face twitched, and under Bryan's sharp questioning, he couldn't say a word.

Bryan didn't let up, his anger growing. "Or you think she has no one to back her up. That you can bully my daughter at will?"

Bryan stepped closer, and the two stepped back, their eyes avoiding his.

Seeing Bryan's stance, as if he was about to hit someone, they were intimidated and didn't make a sound.

Cecily looked at Bryan, her eyes flickering slightly.

Her heart was tugged by a strange emotion.

It was a feeling of being protected by a father that she had never experienced before.

Darian looked at Bryan.

Bryan rarely did a good deed.

The two were questioned by Bryan for a long time before they reacted. Hunter retorted, "She bullied Giselle first."

"So what if Cecily really bullied Giselle for no reason? Just try to lay a finger on her, and you'll regret it!" Bryan's voice had a hint of madness.

Hunter's nerves were tense, and he said through gritted teeth, "You are all too arrogant. Cecily is like this because she has you people around her, spoiling her into this arrogance."

Bryan squinted his eyes, a hint of pain flashing through them.

So what if Cecily was really arrogant?

If he were always by Cecily's side, he would tell her not to fear anyone because he would always have her back.

But unfortunately, Cecily had no one to pamper her since she was a child.

So Hunter's words sounded both ridiculous and heartbreaking to him.

"I wish my daughter were a bit more arrogant. If anyone dared to hurt her, she wouldn't have to care who that person was. She could retaliate tenfold without any hesitation," Bryan retorted.

Hunter's face looked ugly. Bryan was too arrogant.

Everyone said he spoiled Giselle too much, but he had never taught Giselle like this.

Hunter was so angry at Bryan that he couldn't speak. Bryan turned to look at Cecily behind him.

Cecily was also looking at him, and a look that Cecily couldn't understand flashed in Bryan's eyes.

Bryan's gaze then shifted to Darian. From Cecily's expression, she still didn't know about Vivienne.

Darian ultimately chose to keep it from her.

Bryan lowered his eyes and pressed his lips tightly together.

Hunter and Keaen hadn't left yet.

They were very angry at those words, and if they left like this, they would feel too humiliated.

But they already understood in their hearts that Giselle was probably also at fault in this matter. Otherwise, Cecily wouldn't have spoken so confidently about her actions.

Giselle quickly walked in, first looking around at everyone. Seeing that no one had a good expression, especially Darian, whose gaze on her was terrifying, Giselle's heart trembled. "What are you doing?"

"Giselle, we know you've been wronged," Keaen said, looking at Giselle with a frown.

Giselle knew they were referring to last night's incident, but she didn't dare to make a big deal out of it.

Because she knew her actions were problematic, and Darian, who was by Cecily's side, was not someone to mess with. She was afraid that if it was pursued, it would be hard to end.

She just didn't expect this matter to reach Hunter and Keaen's ears, and they came directly to seek justice for her.

Giselle bit her lip hard and said, "Last night's incident wasn't Cecily's fault. I was the one who messed up with good intentions. She was upset and wanted to punish me a bit. I understand, so let's not pursue it anymore. Let's go."

Giselle was about to pull Hunter and Keaen away.

"Wait." Darian heard the meaning in her words. Did that mean it was Cecily's fault, and Cecily owed her an apology?

"Explain what you meant by that," Darian's voice was cold.

It gave a slight feeling of suffocation.

"It sounds like it's still Cecily's fault," Bryan also questioned relentlessly.

Giselle's gaze turned to Cecily. Cecily didn't speak, and even her eyes were indifferent at this moment. After a very brief eye contact, Giselle looked away. "No, it was my fault. Cecily did nothing wrong."

"Explain your fault in detail," Darian didn't intend to let Giselle off.

"Darian, don't go too far."

"Is this too far? It seems you haven't seen what truly going too far looks like," Darian's tone was calm, but this calmness was frightening.

Giselle's fingertips dug into her palm. After a long while, she said, "I shouldn't have been so foolish to pour Cecily a drink."

"No ill intentions?" Darian pressed on.

Under the immense pressure, Giselle kept lowering her head, her voice getting softer and softer, "Yes. I'm sorry, Cecily. It won't happen again."

Giselle's voice got even lower, and her back was covered in cold sweat.

Cecily's eyes were cold. "I hope you keep your word."

"Okay." Giselle's grip on her palm tightened, as if she couldn't feel the pain, but her eyes turned red. After responding, she turned and ran out.

After all, she was spoiled by Hunter and had never been treated like this.

Hunter and Keaen immediately chased after her.

Once they left, the living room returned to silence.

"Thank you," Cecily said to Bryan, her voice still carrying a hint of distance.

Bryan's eyes darkened. "I'm your dad. It's what I should do. You don't need to thank me."

Cecily didn't deny it but didn't say anything either. She turned and went back to her room.

"Come with me," Bryan said to Darian.

Darian didn't refuse and followed Bryan to a secluded place where only the two of them were.

Looking at Bryan's haggard and exhausted appearance, Darian knew he had probably been searching for Vivienne for several sleepless nights.

"You didn't tell Cecily?" Bryan lit a cigarette and took a drag, his voice hoarse and rough.

"No, I didn't. Cecily is pregnant," Darian replied.

He moved away from Bryan to avoid the smoke. Cecily liked to lean into his arms, and she didn't like the smell of smoke.
