Chapter 250 Cecily is now wanted

Darian carried Cecily into the room, put her down, and reached out to help her take off her clothes.

Seeing his skillful movements, Cecily quickly held onto her dress and said, "I can do it myself. You go outside."

Darian lowered his gaze and glanced at her, noticing the way she looked at him as if he were a thief breaking into her house.

She seemed alert and cautious.

It seemed that his rogue image had deeply rooted itself in her mind.

Darian stopped his actions and nodded helplessly, "Okay, I'll be outside. Let me know if you need anything."

Cecily pursed her lips, "All right."

Darian turned up the heat in the room and then left, closing the door behind him.

Cecily's clothes were soaked with seawater, sticking uncomfortably to her body.

She took off Darian's coat and noticed a few drops of blood on her hand.

That was blood.

Cecily's heart skipped a beat. If she wasn't injured, then was this Darian's blood?

She picked up the coat and inspected it carefully, only to find a small tear and traces of blood on the sleeve.

Cecily furrowed her brows and glanced toward the door, recalling the gunshot earlier. Darian had pulled her onto the boat, and that shot must have grazed his arm.

Cecily tightened her grip on the coat.

Outside, Darian leaned against the wall, tall and straight, with his gaze slightly lowered. He held a cigarette between his fingertips, flickering with a little flame.

"Boss," Larkin walked up to Darian.

"Speak."

"Mrs. Watson has woken up and is fine," Larkin said.

"Good," Darian nodded in relief.

"But Mrs. Watson accused Cecily of stabbing her with a knife as soon as she woke up. The description matches Ophelia's account," Larkin continued.

Darian paused for a moment with the cigarette near his lips.

Larkin went on, "Mr. Fitzgerald was furious and has reported the incident to the police. He has also filed a lawsuit against Cecily, demanding a severe sentence. The police have already started searching for Cecily."

Darian's gaze darkened as he raised the cigarette to his lips and took a deep drag. After a moment of contemplation, he said, "Hand over the retrieved surveillance footage to the police."

As he spoke, Darian paused, realizing that there was only one piece of evidence the surveillance video that showed the group's movements. However, this evidence lacked any persuasive power, as it was witnessed only by Sandra and Ophelia.

Sandra made it clear that Ophelia was the one who took her away, while Cecily was the one who stabbed her, fueled by resentment from a previous incident.

Darian knew another "Cecily" was involved and believed in her innocence. However, others did not share the same belief.

"For now, let's keep this matter under wraps."

"Boss, this matter has already attracted a lot of attention from the beginning. It might be difficult to contain," Larkin said with an equally grim expression.

For the past few hours, Darian had been solely focused on saving Cecily, paying little attention to online discussions.

The media reporters were not about to let a major news story like this slip by and had already started reporting on it extensively.

The more they tried to suppress the news, the more the online spectators felt that they were hiding something. It was easy to silence one person, but silencing thousands or even millions of voices proved to be difficult.

"First, submit the evidence we have to the police and apply for bail on the side of the police. Act as their guarantor, Darian."

Darian made orderly arrangements, effectively tying himself to Cecily. On one side, there was his mother, and on the other, the suspect who had harmed her. If Darian couldn't find the real culprit, he would face just as much pressure as Cecily.

"If Mr. Fitzgerald refuses to agree, don't bother with him. Just handle it."

"Yes, sir."

Darian stared at the closed door, his gaze growing darker. Cecily would be burdened with blame if they didn't find the person behind this. No one believed there was a second person involved. The fingerprints on the dagger belonged to Cecily alone.

Hot water showered down inside the bathroom as Cecily closed her eyes, letting her thoughts wander. The other Cecily, who looked exactly like her, had a goal of replacing her, taking over her entire life. Was she incredibly wealthy?

Cecily had no idea how she could be considered wealthy to the point of attracting such attention. To think that someone could transform themselves to resemble her and take her place.

Then, there was Sandra. Darian believed in her, but Sandra might not believe in Cecily. Just thinking about it made Cecily feel heavy-hearted.

After finishing her shower, Cecily realized she had no clothes to change into. Even her underwear was wet. With no other option, she wrapped herself tightly in a bathrobe before stepping out.

After hesitating in the room for a while, Cecily walked to the door and pushed it open, only to see Darian standing outside. Darian didn't look happy, smoking one cigarette after another. He casually looked up and saw Cecily opening the door. Darian stubbed out the cigarette butt and walked toward her. Maybe it was because he had smoked a lot. His voice sounded particularly hoarse, which made it even more captivating.

Cecily took a step back and said, "I don't have any clothes to wear. Can you send someone to buy me a set of clothes?"

Darian replied, "Someone has already been sent to buy them."

Cecily breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Thank you."

Darian reached out to push the door open, but Cecily didn't let him in. She was only wearing a bathrobe, feeling empty and insecure inside.

Darian smiled helplessly and said, "Let me come in."

"You can't go to another room?"

"There aren't any." Darian raised his eyebrows. "There are only five rooms in this hotel. The others are for Larkin and the rest to rest. Do you want me to squeeze a bunch of grown men into a room with them?"

"So, as a man, you are more valuable?" Cecily looked at his expression and almost burst into laughter. "I like you like this."

Cecily glanced at his arm, where there was a wound. It seemed that he hadn't even noticed it himself.

While Cecily was in a daze, Darian's big hand had already pressed against the door and pushed it open.

Cecily took a step back, and the man took a step forward.

Cecily felt nervous and instinctively swallowed. The man reached out and firmly held her waist. Cecily was very thin, and he easily held her slender waist as he effortlessly pulled her into his arms. A fragrance of shower gel wafted into her nostrils.

Darian lowered his gaze and looked earnestly at her clear eyes. "Are you so afraid of being eaten by me?"

The man's voice continued to sound calm and light. "Although I really want to devour you, I can still hold back for now."

He could hold back for now, but who knew what would happen later?

Feeling the danger approaching, Cecily's heartbeat quickened.

Darian looked down at her bare feet on the floor, furrowed his brows slightly, and then bent down to pick her up.

Cecily was startled.
