Chapter 618: Nathaniel Woke Up! Lillian Went Crazy!

Lost in her own head, Aurelie sat next to Nathaniel, totally oblivious to the ticking clock. Eventually, exhaustion got the best of her, and she crashed hard.

She had this wild dream where she was holding a kid, and Nathaniel was way off in the distance. She tried to run to him, yelling his name, but no sound came out.

She sprinted towards him, reaching out to grab his shirt, but just as she was about to touch him, a cold wind blew through her fingers, and he vanished, scattered by the breeze.

Panic hit her like a wave. She looked everywhere but couldn't find him. The kid in her arms started bawling, and everything around her turned into a blank, empty void.

The kid cried, and she cried too, totally overwhelmed by sadness. Tears were the only way she could let it out.

Tears kept streaming down, and muffled sobs escaped from Aurelie's throat.

"Nathaniel!"

She woke up with tears streaming down her face, and her pillow was soaked.

The dream felt so real that her chest felt tight. She looked around, her memory foggy. She should've fallen asleep next to Nathaniel last night, so how did she end up on the couch?

'Nathaniel!'

Aurelie threw off the blanket and jumped up, pushing open a sliding door to see a crowd gathered around the hospital bed inside.

There were doctors, nurses, and Cecily. Finally, Aurelie's eyes landed on Nathaniel's face.

Her eyes widened, and the next second, their eyes met.

"Nathaniel?" Aurelie whispered his name, not believing her eyes.

Nathaniel was awake.

A wave of joy washed over Aurelie. She stood frozen, her heart pounding like crazy, her fingers digging into her palms, leaving nail marks.

The pain made her realize this was real. Nathaniel was awake! She wasn't dreaming.

"What? Don't you recognize me?" Nathaniel's weak voice broke the silence, seeing Aurelie just standing there, staring at him.

Aurelie snapped out of it and slowly walked to his bedside.

The doctor had just checked Nathaniel and confirmed he was out of danger. Cecily figured they had a lot to talk about, so she motioned for the doctor to leave.

The door closed, and all sounds disappeared, leaving just the two of them in silence.

Aurelie was anxious. After so many days of emergency care, she feared Nathaniel might slip back into a coma. Her voice choked as she carefully asked, "What did the doctor say about you?"

"I'm not going to die," Nathaniel replied.

Aurelie lowered her eyes, staring deeply at Nathaniel. The pent-up emotions of the past few days finally broke free, "You scared me to death. I thought you were going to..."

"Die?" Nathaniel chuckled weakly. "I don't want to die just yet, so I won't."

Aurelie sobbed deeply, her lowered eyelashes trembling. She raised her hand to wipe away her tears.

Nathaniel looked at Aurelie's tear-streaked face and smiled faintly, "You're just going to stand there? Don't you have anything to say to me? You talked a lot when I was in a coma."

When he was out cold, he could feel someone yapping at him day and night. He wanted to respond but just couldn't. The doc told him it was Aurelie talking to him, keeping his brain active, which helped him wake up so fast.

Aurelie was taken aback, "What did you hear?"

Nathaniel shook his head, "I can't remember. Why are you so jumpy? Did you confess your love or something?"

"No," Aurelie denied quickly.

"Then spill it. What did you say to me?" Nathaniel found her nervousness pretty funny.

Aurelie fiddled with her hair and avoided his eyes, "I forgot too. Just some random stuff."

Nathaniel didn't push it. He had just woken up, and his eyelids felt like lead. He closed his eyes.

"What's wrong?" Aurelie saw him close his eyes and freaked out, pressing the call button on the wall.

The doctor, who hadn't gone far, rushed in, "What's wrong?"

Aurelie looked at Nathaniel again, and he had opened his eyes. She explained, "He just closed his eyes. I thought he had fainted again."

"I just wanted to rest for a bit." Nathaniel looked at her worried face, feeling a bit helpless but also oddly pleased.

Aurelie had been on edge for days, way too worried about him.

Seeing he was fine, both the doctor and Aurelie breathed a sigh of relief.

Nathaniel spent three days recovering before Darian arranged a private jet to take them back to Silver Frost Capital. They had been stuck in Fluvoria for over a week, and Silver Frost Capital had been anything but peaceful during that time.

Lillian had been ditched by Nathaniel at the wedding and had gone nuts at the ceremony, becoming a total laughingstock.

She had been holed up in her room, smashing everything in sight, and even Laura didn't dare to go in and stop her, afraid of getting hurt. Brent had been in a foul mood, and whenever he went out for social events, people would mock him about the wedding.

The Lewis family had become the talk of the town.

Nathaniel had been MIA for over a week, and no one could get in touch with him. No one knew if he was dead or alive.

Today, Lillian saw people online roasting her wedding. Enraged, she threw her phone at the TV, smashing a hole in the big screen, which went black.

"Find Nathaniel for me. I want answers. How could he do this to me?" she screamed at the servant.

The servants were used to Lillian's tantrums. One of them skillfully found a corner far enough from Lillian to avoid getting hit by flying objects but close enough to respond, "Ms. Lewis, Mr. Lewis and Mrs. Lewis have sent people everywhere to look for him, but they can't find any trace of Mr. Kensington. He disappeared after the wedding."

"What about Aurelie? He must be with that bitch. Go to her place and look for him," Lillian continued.

"We've searched everywhere, but Aurelie seems to have vanished too. We can't find any trace of her either," the servant replied truthfully.

Lillian was fuming. The two of them had been missing for over a week. Could they have eloped?
