Chapter 259 The Heiress of the Bennett family
Chasing Cecily through several streets, they were all out of breath. The leader said, "Cecily, the butler is asking you to go home."
"What, go home?" Cecily was puzzled.
"I didn't understand. Please explain," Cecily said, realizing they had no intention of forcing her and relaxing a bit as she leaned against the wall, catching her breath.
"If you come back with us, you will understand. Some things are still uncertain, and we can't say more. Just know that we are not bad people, and we won't hurt you," they reassured Cecily.
"Who are you people? I don't know anything about you. You say you're not bad people, but how do I know that's true? And if I go with you directly, I won't have anywhere to cry even if you sell me," Cecily said cautiously.
Cecily had to be cautious. After all, bad people don't have "bad people" written on their faces. She couldn't just believe whatever they said.
The leader paused, acknowledging that Cecily's caution was reasonable, as no one would trust strangers for no reason.
After thinking for a moment, he said, "We are people from The Silverwood. The Silverwood's butler sent us, and your mother is our master, Vivienne Silverwood. So, you are the heiress of The Silverwood."
"The Silverwood, Vivienne," Cecily frowned, murmuring.
To be honest, she had never heard of this family before. Judging from their demeanor, they were definitely not a small and humble family with subordinates and a butler.
They said she was the heiress of The Silverwood, and her mother's name was Vivienne Silverwood.
Cecily furrowed her brows, asking, "Are you sure you haven't mistaken me for someone else?"
She didn't know what her mother's last name was; she only knew her name was Vivienne.
"You bear a striking resemblance to her. We couldn't have made a mistake," they responded.
Vivienne!
A shiver ran down Cecily's spine.
She knew her mother was always mysterious, keeping everything she did a secret from her. She said it was to protect her. The less she knew, the safer she would be.
Did this mean her mother had many unknown dangers around her?
If she really was called Vivienne and had hidden her last name and changed her name, was it because she was afraid of her name being exposed and someone finding her?
"You have told me everything I wanted to know. Can you take me with you now?" the leader asked.
Cecily clenched her hand. They had come this far, and even if it was just to find a trace of her mother, she had to go with them.
Cecily nodded, "Okay, but what about my bodyguard? I insist that my bodyguard comes with me to ensure my personal safety."
"We can ensure your personal safety. As for your bodyguard, I'm sorry, miss, I don't have the authority to grant your request. Please understand."
As soon as the man finished speaking, a discreet black car suddenly stopped beside them. Upon seeing this, everyone immediately respectfully stepped aside. The car door opened, and an elderly man with white hair got out of the car. His deep and calm eyes sparkled with excitement when he saw Cecily.
"Miss, I finally see you."
Cecily looked at the postures of the people next to her and guessed that this person must be their supervisor.
Cecily nodded politely, "Hello."
The old man's gaze never left her, and the excitement in his eyes was so sincere that it even brought tears to them, leaving Cecily somewhat perplexed.
"Miss, come with me quickly. The Silverwood is waiting for you."
He made a gesture inviting her.
Cecily blinked, "Wait a moment, I can go with you, but I need to bring a few bodyguards with me, and I need to let my friend know where I am going. Otherwise, she will worry."
Cecily insisted on this request, partly to let people know where she went. This way, if she encountered danger, at least someone would be able to find her. Having experienced too much, Cecily had to be cautious.
The old man paused for a moment, looking at her apologetically, "Miss, I'm afraid that's not possible, but we can send someone to inform your friend and let her know that you are safe."
"You don't have to worry about your safety. We will take responsibility for it."
Cecily looked around, "I want to tell my friend myself."
The old man could tell that Cecily didn't completely trust them, which was understandable. He nodded, "Okay."
Soon, they brought Kiera over. Kiera had never encountered a situation like this before and nervously held onto Cecily's hand, "Cecily, what's going on?"
"Kiera, I'm fine. They are not bad people. If Darian comes looking for me, please let him know that I went to The Silverwood and that he doesn't have to worry about me for now."
At this moment, Kiera was extremely nervous, but she listened to Cecily's words and nodded vigorously, "Okay, I'll remember."
"Thank you, Kiera."
Cecily reassured Kiera a few more times, and the people from The Silverwood didn't rush her. However, Kiera was still very worried about her, so she kept turning back every three steps as she left.
Cecily turned around and looked at them, asking, "What should I call you?"
"I am Desmond," he replied.
"Mr. Desmond, let's go," Cecily said.
Desmond raised his hand politely, gesturing for her to follow.
Cecily got into the car with them, and soon, the car left the area.
"Miss, in order to shorten the journey, we will switch to a private plane later," Desmond explained.
Cecily nodded and replied, "I currently have an unresolved case, so I need to apply for a long-distance trip. Otherwise, I might be considered a fugitive."
"Don't worry, we will take care of it," Desmond assured her.
"Okay," Cecily responded, turning her head to look out of the window, knowing that her peaceful days were now over. She didn't know what lay ahead for her. Was the Vivienne they mentioned really her mother? Would she be able to see her now? The thought of potentially meeting her own mother made Cecily nervous. It had been such a long time since she last saw Vivienne. She missed her and wanted to find out what had happened all those years ago, why she had kept so many secrets, and what it was all for.
