Chapter 577: No Room for Negotiation, Hand Over the Person

"Let 'em go. If you got beef, come at me. Leave them outta this," Josep yelled at Darian.

Darian just waved, and two big dudes grabbed Josep, dragging him to the backyard.

"Darian, what the hell? Let me go, you hear me?" Josep shouted.

In the backyard, there were four big holes dug up, just like Larkin ordered. Next to 'em were four coffins, courtesy of Blaise, with their family names carved on 'em.

The night was creepy, with a cool breeze, cries, and those four coffins making it all super eerie.

Darian strolled over, stopping a few steps from the coffins. Victor and Aurelia, held by bodyguards, were freaking out, crying and begging as Darian got closer.

Aurelia was losing it, tears streaming down her face. "Darian, please, let us go. I don't wanna die. Dad, please, just tell Darian. Maybe we can still make it. I don't wanna be buried alive."

Josep's heart sank when he saw those coffins.

Victor and Aurelia were his kids; of course, he didn't want them to die. But he was stuck. He knew talking meant death too.

Josep shut his eyes in pain.

He was betting on Darian's limits, on his love for his mom, Sandra. He was hoping that as long as he had Sandra, Darian wouldn't dare do anything.

Darian saw Josep still not budging and smirked coldly.

He knew what Josep was thinking. Josep thought as long as Sandra was in his grip, Darian wouldn't dare hurt them.

Well, tough luck.

When the crazed Olivia was brought over, the family of four was complete.

"Throw 'em in," Darian said.

Darian sat down on a chair nearby, ready to take his time with this.

Aurelia was the first to be dragged up. She fought like crazy, but the two bodyguards were too strong and tossed her into a coffin.

"No, Darian!" Josep watched as Aurelia was thrown in. Two guys lifted the lid, and it came down hard.

They could hear Aurelia's muffled struggles inside, kicking the coffin lid, trying to get out.

Each kick felt like a punch to Josep's heart.

Josep's eyes turned red. "Darian, let her go. You're a monster. She shares your last name. How can you bury her alive, Darian? How can you be so heartless?"

Darian found it hilarious.

A guy who wanted to kill his own brother and dad had no right to talk.

"If you can do it, why can't I?" Darian sneered.

His men didn't hold back, grabbing hammers and sealing the lid.

The sound of nails being hammered in was brutal. Each hit drove Josep closer to losing it.

Victor's eyes went wide with fear. He was next. Four bodyguards stepped up and grabbed him.

Victor was just as panicked as Aurelia. He finally shouted, "Don't bury me. I know where Sandra is."

Darian raised an eyebrow. "Where?"

"My dad won't say, but his guy Mark knows. He's been handling all my dad's dirty work. He knows better than us. Find him, and you'll know where Sandra is," Victor said, his voice shaky and fast.

He knew, and Darian knew too.

Mark knew all of Josep's secrets, but he was super loyal to Josep and was still on the run, probably trying to save Josep.

"Keep going," Darian ordered coldly.

Victor was thrown in. He screamed, "I've told you everything I know. Let me go."

Victor stood up and struggled, but two bodyguards pinned him down. The coffin lid was quickly lifted and dropped, plunging the inside into darkness.

"Victor." Seeing Victor thrown in, Josep's eyes filled with fear.

Compared to Aurelia, he clearly cared more about Victor, which was his only son.

The crazed Olivia started shouting, "What are you doing? I don't wanna go in. There are ghosts in there. Let me go."

Hearing the cries for help from the three coffins, Josep was in agony. "Darian, aren't you afraid that if you kill me, your mom will die too?"

Darian looked at him coldly. "My mom will have your family of four to keep her company. She won't be lonely."

With that, he mercilessly gestured for them to throw Josep in too.

"Darian, you don't even care about your mom. You'll die a horrible death," Josep cursed Darian.

Darian just sneered, his cold attitude finally making Josep freak out for real.

Soon enough, all four coffins were nailed shut, and the air inside wouldn't last long.

Even Larkin didn't expect that Josep would be this stubborn.

This just showed how selfish he was.

Josep knew if Sandra was found, he'd be the first to go. He didn't wanna die, so he was willing to risk his whole family's lives to gamble.

"Sir, they won't last long in there. Should we keep burying them?" Larkin was worried that if they really suffocated, Sandra would be in serious danger.

"Keep going," Darian said, looking at the four coffins with a cold stare.

Larkin shivered but followed Darian's orders.

People only really get scared when they're totally desperate. Josep wasn't there yet; he was still trying to outlast Darian.

As the coffins were lifted, the cries and pleas from inside didn't stop, and the struggles got more intense. The bodyguards started shoveling dirt over the coffins.

"I'll talk!" Josep's pained shout came from inside.

A bodyguard heard him and ran over to report to Darian.

Darian, playing with a dagger, looked up. "Pull him out."

Soon, Josep was dragged out of the coffin.

He looked ghastly from lack of oxygen and struggling.

Gasping for fresh air, Josep lay on the ground, gulping it in.

"Spill it," Darian said.

"Let them all go first, and I'll tell you where Sandra is," Josep responded.

Darian's eyes narrowed. "Keep going."

Josep's eyes filled with panic. "Darian!"

Darian sneered. "You think you can negotiate with me?"

The bodyguards kept shoveling dirt, and Darian didn't rush Josep, leaving it up to him to decide whether to talk or not.

"No," Josep's eyes were bloodshot.

Darian glanced at him coolly, lit a cigarette, and smoked slowly, his emotions unreadable.

The calmer Darian seemed, the more panicked Josep got.

"I'll talk! In my study, there's a map. Sandra's in those deep mountains."

"Sir," a bodyguard rushed in, "Mrs. Fitzgerald is back, but she's still being held by Mark."

Josep's eyes lit up immediately.

Darian quickly walked out, but after a few steps, he stopped, looked back at Josep, and ordered his men to bring Josep along and dig out the other three.

Outside the Fitzgerald Manor, several black cars were parked, with about twenty men, originally Josep's guys, watching over Sandra. The leader pushed Sandra out of the car, holding a gun to her head. That guy was Mark.

"Release Josep, and I'll give her back to you," Mark said.

The doors of the Fitzgerald Manor opened, and Darian walked out. Seeing Sandra, his brow furrowed, and his gaze fixed on Mark, who was holding a gun to Sandra's head, his eyes filled with murderous intent.

The air got tense.

Mark gripped his gun tightly, not daring to relax for a second because he was facing Darian.

If something went wrong, not only would he fail to save Josep, but he'd also lose his own life.

Josep was dragged out by bodyguards. Seeing Mark's stance, he smiled. "Mark, I knew I could count on you. Darian, I advise you to release me. It's better for both of us."

Darian coldly addressed Mark. "What right do you have to negotiate with me?"

Mark tightened his grip on the trigger, ready to press it. "Aren't you afraid your mother will die here?"

Sandra, knowing Darian was trying to save her, stayed calm.

Darian's face showed no extra emotion. As soon as Mark finished speaking, Darian raised his hand and, without hesitation, shot Victor in the leg.

The bullet pierced Victor's thigh, and he fell to the ground, clutching his bleeding leg and screaming in pain.

Aurelia, seeing this, was so scared her eyes nearly popped out. She kept backing away, afraid she would be next.

Darian's sudden move shocked everyone, even Josep didn't expect Darian to dare act in such a situation.

"Victor!" Josep struggled and shouted.

"Three minutes." Darian looked at the time expressionlessly and pointed his gun at Victor's head.

The message was clear: "Hand over Sandra in three minutes, or Victor dies first."

"Darian, how dare you!" Josep roared.

"Try me." Darian raised an eyebrow, his aura filled with menace, leaving no room for negotiation. He looked like a demon.

His uncompromising stance left everyone, including Josep, uncertain and fearful.
