Chapter 490 Tell Him That Cecily Is His Biological Daughter

Freya had been kidnapped, and Bryan had taken Cecily because someone demanded it.

They had demanded Cecily.

To save Freya, Bryan had decided to trade Cecily.

That was the only reason Darian could think of; otherwise, why would Bryan take Cecily?

"Darian, are you listening?" Vivienne asked, worried when Darian didn't respond.

"Freya's been kidnapped."

"Freya's been kidnapped? What does that have to do with Bryan taking Cecily?" Vivienne paused, then realized what was going on. "He wants to trade Cecily for Freya?"

"There's no other explanation." Darian gripped the phone tightly, veins bulging.

Silence fell on the other end.

Freya had been kidnapped, and Bryan wanted to trade Cecily for her. How dare he?

Vivienne was stunned, her heart aching.

Despite all their precautions, they had never suspected Bryan, Cecily's own father.

Bryan actually wanted to trade Cecily for Freya!

Who gave him the right? What made him think he could do that?

Why should Cecily be traded for Freya?

Hadn't Freya hurt Cecily enough? Now her life had to be traded for Freya's?

Vivienne staggered.

She was so angry she could barely breathe. She pushed away the person trying to help her, gripping her phone tightly, "Please find out where his car is headed, fast."

After gritting her teeth and finishing her sentence, Vivienne's hand dropped. She felt warmth on her face and realized her cheeks were wet with tears.

She walked forward like a lost soul, eyes filled with pain.

She never imagined Bryan would take Cecily to trade for Freya.

Freya and Cecily's lives were both precious.

How dare Bryan take her daughter to trade for Freya?

That was his biological daughter!

Vivienne clutched her chest, unable to stand from the pain.

She had never told Bryan that Cecily was his biological daughter. If she had, would he still have done this?

If that was the case, she would tell Bryan immediately.

She would tell him right away that Cecily was his biological daughter.

Vivienne fumbled for her phone, fingers trembling as she dialed Bryan's number.

Would he change his mind if she told him?

Vivienne hunched over, gripping her phone tightly, calling over and over.

'Bryan, answer the phone, answer it.

'Don't you want to know if Cecily is your biological daughter?

'She is, she is, I'm begging you, answer the phone.

'Cecily is your biological daughter.

I'm begging you to answer the phone,' she told herself over and over again in her mind.

Every call she made felt futile.

Vivienne didn't give up; she kept dialing until Bryan's phone showed it was turned off.

Vivienne had never felt so desperate; she called him forty-six times, but Bryan didn't answer once.

He was determined to trade Cecily for Freya.

Vivienne hung her head, the overwhelming pain threatening to drown her.

Why?

Why was this happening? Why wouldn't he answer the phone?

Why didn't she tell Bryan sooner?

Why had she imposed her pain on Cecily?

She knew how much Bryan wanted a daughter, and she knew that if Bryan knew Cecily was his biological daughter, he would love her more than anyone.

But because of her own hatred, she hadn't told him.

She hadn't been able to get over the anger from Bryan forcing her and hurting her, so she had used what he wanted most to get back at him.

She wanted him to know that the person he wanted most was right by his side, but he could never have her in this lifetime.

She had given birth to Cecily in the Watson family, left her there, and deprived Cecily of a father while denying Bryan a daughter.

She was torturing Bryan and herself, but Cecily had suffered the most.

She felt unfit to be a mother, selfish, and deserving of punishment.

Why hadn't she told Bryan the truth sooner?

What should she do now?

She clutched her chest, collapsing to the ground, crying uncontrollably.

When Desmond arrived, he saw Vivienne kneeling, clutching her chest, in so much pain that it seemed like she was being torn apart.

Desmond had worked for the Bennett family his whole life and watched Vivienne grow up, but he had never seen her cry as though her heart was breaking.

His heart ached for her.

Meanwhile, on Darian's side.

Everything was ready, and Larkin came over to report to Darian, only to see him anxiously giving orders on the phone.

After Darian finished the call, Larkin finally spoke, "Boss, everything is ready. We can set off."

Darian checked the time and ordered, "Cancel it."

"What?" Larkin was shocked.

They had finally found Sandra. Why was he canceling the plan now?

They had been searching for Sandra, and Josep was extremely cautious, frequently moving her to avoid detection.

It hadn't been easy to find her. Canceling now might make it even harder to find her next time.

Sandra was Josep's last bargaining chip, and was heavily guarded. To avoid alarming him, they hadn't made any big moves, fearing he would harm Sandra.

Darian wanted to go personally to ensure success. Otherwise, all their efforts would be in vain, and they would end up in a direct confrontation with Josep, endangering both Sandra and Cecily.

As long as Sandra was in Josep's hands, they couldn't openly confront him.

Josep must have prepared for the worst; if he was gone, his people would harm Sandra.

This was a rare opportunity, and Larkin couldn't understand why Darian was suddenly canceling it.

"Boss, did something happen?"

"Cecily is in danger." Darian's face was grim as he glanced at the assembled team, finally looking at Larkin. "Save Cecily first."

As long as they didn't confront Josep directly, he wouldn't harm Sandra.

But Cecily was different.

Bryan was desperate enough to kidnap someone for an exchange, indicating the other party was extremely dangerous, even life-threatening.

If they could torture Freya and threaten her life, they could do the same to Cecily.

Darian didn't dare think about it further.

And what did these people want? To test him, perhaps.

Even thought he knew it was a test, he couldn't leave Cecily alone.

"Contact the media and spread the news that the future Mrs. Fitzgerald has been kidnapped, as widely as possible."

Larkin didn't understand at first, but after a moment's thought, he complied.

Darian said nothing more and quickly left.

In the last half hour, Bryan turned on his phone to avoid missing any information from the kidnappers. As soon as he did, dozens of missed calls from Vivienne popped up.

Seeing the missed calls, Bryan could almost imagine how anxious Vivienne was when he saw the missed calls.

But he couldn't answer; he didn't dare to.

The phone rang, and Bryan's heart skipped a beat.

This time it wasn't Vivienne, but an unknown number.

Bryan answered without hesitation. "Hello."

"Did you get her? Your daughter can't hold on much longer." It was the kidnappers who had taken Freya.

"I brought her. How is my daughter now?"
