Chapter 331 Mom, I Missed You So Much
"Miss, please come in." Seeing Eliza standing still, the servant beside her raised a hand to remind her.
Eliza clenched her fists. She knew she had to face Vivienne's arrival today. Taking a deep breath, she tried to stay calm.
Vivienne raised her hand to greet Eliza.
Eliza buried all her emotions deep inside and forced herself to walk forward.
As she approached Vivienne, Eliza's eyes welled up with tears. Her lips trembled, and with a voice full of excitement and disbelief, she called out, "Mom?"
Vivienne stood up and looked at the woman in front of her, her eyes flickering.
"Mom, is it really you? You're back! I'm not dreaming, am I?" Eliza's tears fell instantly as she cried and rushed into Vivienne's arms, calling out "Mom" repeatedly.
"Mom, where have you been all these years? I missed you so much, I've always missed you, and I've been so worried about you."
Eliza's tears fell like broken pearls.
She cried while expressing her longing for Vivienne, her acting impeccable.
But she couldn't see Vivienne's indifferent expression at that moment.
After letting Eliza hold her and cry for a while, Vivienne gently pushed her away.
Eliza blinked and met Vivienne's eyes, which seemed to see through everything. Eliza's gaze involuntarily dodged.
Vivienne squinted her eyes, carefully examining the person in front of her.
Desmond returned after making a phone call, looking anxious, but he didn't show it when he saw the people in the hall. He just walked to Vivienne's side and whispered a few words that only they could hear.
A trace of an unclear emotion flashed in Vivienne's eyes. She calmly replied that she understood and continued to look at Eliza.
Seeing Vivienne staring at her, Eliza widened her eyes, looking at her with a bewildered expression, "Mom, what's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Vivienne smiled lightly, "It's nothing. I haven't seen you in so many years. I'm just so happy."
Seeing that Vivienne didn't seem suspicious of her, Eliza felt slightly relieved and pulled her to sit down beside her.
"Mom, please sit. Where have you been all these years? When you left back then, there was no news. I thought you had passed away.
I've been treasuring the Crystal Pendant you left me all these years. Whenever I missed you, I would take it out and look at it, hoping you would return one day. I never thought my wish would come true."
As Eliza spoke, she took out the moon-shaped Crystal Pendant she carried with her, looking as if she truly cherished it.
Vivienne looked at the Crystal Pendant she had left behind years ago and said, "I didn't expect you to keep it with you all this time."
"This is what you left me. Of course, I would always keep it."
Vivienne raised an eyebrow gently and said softly, "You've suffered a lot in the years I wasn't around, haven't you?"
Eliza held Vivienne's hand and quickly said, "Mom, as long as you're back, no amount of suffering matters. It's just that..."
"Just what?"
Eliza lowered her eyes, looking aggrieved, "It's just that suffering outside doesn't matter, but being bullied in my own home makes me feel wronged. You don't know how many things have happened recently."
Vivienne raised an eyebrow. Since Eliza brought it up, she decided to follow her lead and ask, "What happened? Tell me. Now that I'm back, I can stand up for you."
Eliza looked surprised, "Mom, you don't know? Desmond didn't tell you?"
"What?" Vivienne looked puzzled and glanced at Desmond beside her, "Did something big happen?"
Eliza raised an eyebrow.
No wonder Vivienne didn't suspect her identity when she saw her. It turned out she didn't know about the existence of two Cecily's.
Eliza thought for a moment and felt something was off. How could Desmond not tell Vivienne about such a big matter? Could it be that Vivienne had noticed something and was pretending not to know?
Eliza squinted her eyes and looked at Vivienne for a few seconds before deliberately saying, "Desmond, what's wrong with you? How could you not tell my mom about such an important matter? Are you trying to hide it on purpose?"
Hearing Eliza's words, Vivienne spoke, "I contacted Desmond last night. I just arrived at the Bennett family this morning. He probably didn't have time to report anything important to me."
"I see."
Eliza's lips curled into a smile. That made sense. It seemed she really didn't know anything.
Eliza obediently held Vivienne's hand, pursed her lips, and began to speak, "Mom, even if you had arrived earlier, he probably wouldn't have dared to tell you."
"Why? What exactly happened?"
Eliza decided to take the initiative and began, "There's a woman pretending to be me, trying to become your daughter. Desmond not only didn't help me but even kicked me out of the Bennett family. Mom, with you not around, this is how they bullied me."
