Chapter 608: How about a blood-stained wedding scene?

The slap smacked right across Lillian's smug face with a loud crack, leaving everyone in the room totally stunned. She got knocked down onto the table, clutching her face, too shocked to react for a hot minute.

After a bit, Lillian snapped out of it, feeling the sting on her cheek. She screamed, glaring at Aurelie, "Aurelie, how the hell dare you hit me!"

Aurelie stepped up and grabbed Lillian by the throat with both hands, "So all this crap I'm dealing with, including my dad's death, is your doing!"

Aurelie had her suspicions, even when Joshua took that leap, that someone was pulling the strings, messing with the four of them. Even if they wanted to scare her with a suicide threat, they wouldn't pick the busiest spot and call the press. Someone had to be behind it.

It turned out Lillian was the mastermind, plotting every move. No wonder Aurelie was fuming.

"Let go of me, Aurelie! You bitch." Lillian's face turned red as Aurelie pinned her down on the table, choking her. She felt like she was gonna pass out.

"I never messed with you from the start. You kept screwing with me, over and over. Why? What did I ever do to you? Why!" Aurelie's eyes were blazing with anger as she tightened her grip on Lillian's throat. Lillian couldn't break free.

"Who told you to compete with me? What right do you have to take my man?" Lillian spat out, her voice raspy and broken. "If you go up against me, you gotta pay the price!"

Aurelie's eyes were bloodshot.

Compete with Lillian? Wasn't it Lillian who started this whole mess?

When Lillian showed up, she and Nathaniel had already been together for a year. How could she say Aurelie stole him?

"Are you all dead? Just standing there watching her choke me." Lillian shouted hoarsely at her bridesmaids.

The bridesmaids, who had been frozen in shock, finally snapped out of it and rushed to pull Aurelie away.

No matter how strong Aurelie was, she couldn't take on several women, especially since she was pregnant. She had to let go of Lillian.

"Lillian, are you okay?" one bridesmaid asked.

"Lillian, your neck is all red. That bitch was too rough," another chimed in.

"Lillian, you alright?" The bridesmaids helped the furious Lillian up, surrounding her with useless concern.

Lillian shoved them away, touched her neck, and glared at Aurelie with a twisted face, "Aurelie, you're asking for it! What are you all standing around for? Didn't you say you'd help me teach her a lesson? Get on with it."

The bridesmaids exchanged uneasy glances. They were usually all about elegance and grace. Now Lillian wanted them to throw down with Aurelie?

They had no clue what to do.

They looked at each other, but no one made a move.

"Lillian, maybe just let it go. Why get into it with her? Today's your wedding. Don't let her mess it up," one bridesmaid suggested. "Yeah, Lillian, the wedding's the big deal. Don't get all worked up. It's bad luck to be angry on a day like this. Let's fix your makeup first. We can deal with her after the ceremony," another chimed in, trying to calm her down.

"Shut up!" Lillian snapped, fuming. A bunch of useless people, not helping and even telling her to chill. She cursed them in her mind, 'Calm down? How the hell am I supposed to calm down?'

First, she got slapped by Aurelie, then choked on the table. If she could let this slide, she wouldn't be herself.

If they wouldn't fight, she would. Lillian stormed forward, raising her hand to slap Aurelie.

Aurelie didn't flinch, just stared her down.

Before the slap could land, Lillian's hand froze in mid-air. Her eyes widened as she saw Aurelie's hand at her throat.

A razor blade was pressed dangerously against her neck. It might not be the sharpest knife, but it could still cut through flesh and blood vessels with a hard press.

"Go on," Aurelie said, her eyes locked on Lillian. "I've got nothing left. Push me again, and I'll take you down with me. You believe me?"

Lillian's body went rigid with fear, staring at the blade. She swallowed hard.

Aurelie grabbed Lillian's shoulder, her eyes fierce. Lillian didn't doubt her for a second, fearing the blade would slice her throat any moment.

"Blood at the wedding, what about that for tomorrow's headline news?" Aurelie sneered.

Lillian's facial muscles twitched as she cautiously watched Aurelie. "If you hurt me today, I guarantee you won't leave here in one piece."

Aurelie shouted, "Really? From the moment you dragged me here, you never planned to let me leave in one piece. I told you, I've got nothing to lose. I'll drag you down with me if I have to."

Lillian gritted her teeth. "If you hurt me, my parents will make sure you die. Think carefully."

Suddenly, the door burst open, and Nathaniel walked in. Seeing the scene before him, he frowned in surprise.

He had rushed over after the apartment maid called to say Lillian's people had taken Aurelie. He thought he'd find Aurelie being bullied, but to his surprise, Aurelie had Lillian under control.

Lillian looked a mess, her hair disheveled, makeup smudged, and her dress in disarray. She stood motionless, threatened by Aurelie with a razor.

"Nathaniel, save me," Lillian immediately cried out, seeing him.
