Chapter 429 Darian Became Obedient
"I..." Olivia stammered, feeling trapped by Darian's words. She forced herself to say, "I'm doing this for your own good."
Darian's face was icy, and his voice even colder. "If you have time, worry about your own son."
With that, Darian got up from the bed.
"Mr. Fitzgerald, you can't be discharged."
"Mr. Fitzgerald, you need to consider your health."
"Mr. Fitzgerald."
Several doctors chased after Darian, trying to stop him. Just then, the door to the ward opened, and Larkin rushed in.
Seeing Darian trying to leave, Larkin quickly asked, "Boss, where are you going?"
Darian glanced at him and said sternly, "Go get Cecily."
"Miss Watson is right outside, but Josep and Olivia had someone stop her from coming in."
Cecily had called Darian's phone, but it was off, so she found Larkin to help her get a message to Darian. She thought Darian probably didn't know someone was preventing her from coming in.
As Larkin reached the door, he heard the commotion inside the ward.
Olivia's face changed, and she quickly denied, "Bullshit! It was Dad who didn't let her in. It has nothing to do with us."
Darian glanced at her but ignored her, directly telling Larkin, "Go bring her in. I want to see who dares to stop her."
Josep and Olivia exchanged a look but said nothing.
"Yes." Larkin immediately went to get her.
When Cecily walked into the ward, she sensed the strange atmosphere. She glanced briefly at the others before focusing entirely on Darian.
His head was still wrapped in bandages, and his handsome face looked a bit pale.
A flash of concern appeared in Cecily's eyes as she walked up without hesitation. "What's going on? Why are you getting up? You just had surgery this morning. Are you trying to kill yourself?"
"Mr. Fitzgerald just wanted to be discharged, no matter how we advised him, he wouldn't heed our words."
A doctor, feeling that Darian hadn't been scolded enough, added from the side.
Darian gave that doctor a speechless look.
Talkative.
"You still want to be discharged now?" Cecily's beautiful eyes stared at Darian, filled with a strong warning.
"No, he's talking nonsense."
Under Cecily's warning gaze, Darian's face lost its earlier coldness.
The doctor silently thought to himself, 'Mr. Fitzgerald, how can you not admit what you did?'
Cecily's expression was serious, and her voice lacked its usual gentleness, replaced by an undeniable firmness. "Then lie back down quickly. Do you want to end up in the operating room again?"
Seeing her serious and worried expression, Darian suddenly felt that his earlier actions were a bit impulsive.
"Lie back down quickly."
"Okay." He responded, turned around, and sat back on the bed.
Josep's eyes flickered, but only for a moment before his expression returned to normal.
The doctors and nurses were stunned by what they saw.
The once stubborn and cold Darian suddenly turned obedient when Cecily walked in!
Though "obedient" seemed odd for someone as tall and imposing as Darian, they couldn't think of a better word.
Unlike the others, Larkin just blinked, looking like he'd seen it all before.
This was nothing.
Before Darian lost his memory, he was even more compliant with Cecily.
Small matter, stay calm.
Cecily adjusted Darian's blanket, her face serious. "Your body is your own. Don't do this again."
"Okay."
Only then did Cecily's expression soften a bit.
Josep stepped forward with a friendly smile. "Since you two have things to talk about, we'll leave first."
As he walked out, he passed by Cecily and explained, "Miss Watson, I might have spoken harshly outside earlier. Never mind. Dad instructed us, and we had no choice."
Cecily knew that Josep and Olivia were afraid she would complain to Darian, so they pushed all the blame onto Owen.
Cecily looked at him and calmly said, "How could I? After all, I know that without your instigation, Owen wouldn't have stopped me from coming in. I won't hold it against him."
'I won't hold it against Owen, but I will hold it against you two,' she thought.
Josep forced a stiff smile and said nothing more, pulling Olivia out.
As they walked out, Olivia cursed under her breath. Once outside, she crossed her arms. "Who does she think she is? As an elder, do I still have to watch their faces?"
"And Owen too. Treating his sons so disparately. When the son passed away, it was passed on to the grandson. If the grandson is gone, will he pass it to the great-grandson?"
"Shut up." Josep glared at the indiscreet Olivia.
Olivia was startled into silence by his scolding.
Josep glared at her. "If Dad hears these words, are you court death?"
"I only dared to say it because no one was around." Despite her words, her voice had noticeably weakened.
"Sometimes think before you speak. Walls have ears. Don't let everything fall apart because of your mouth." Josep left angrily.
Olivia, feeling a bit scared, slapped her own mouth and quickly followed Josep. "Where are you going?"
Josep glanced at her.
In a deep voice, he said, "To check on Freya. She is now the benefactor of the entire Fitzgerald family."
In the ward, everyone had left, leaving only Cecily and Darian.
Cecily pulled a chair over and sat next to him. Darian's dark eyes deeply gazed at her, immediately noticing the faint but still visible finger marks on her face.
Darian's eyes instantly darkened. "Who hit you?"
Cecily instinctively covered her face lightly and said indifferently, "I accidentally got bumped. It's almost gone."
"Was it Bryan?"
