Chapter 253 Cecily Felt He Was About to Kneel for Her

Cecily's eyes flashed with surprise. She never expected Darian to do this. If they couldn't find the person responsible and she was ultimately convicted as the murderer, how would he handle the situation between her and his mother?

Outside, many people were waiting to see a show. If they couldn't find evidence, every word he said in front of the media would come back to slap him in the face.

Cecily's grip tightened slightly. She hadn't anticipated that, at this moment, the first person to voice their belief in her publicly would be Darian.

"Ma'am, are you all right?" Kiera looked at Cecily's distracted appearance and gently patted her arm.

"I'm fine, thank you." Cecily snapped back to reality and tried to leave, only to find that she couldn't!

In the evening, the boss and his wife prepared dinner and called Cecily down to eat.

Cecily looked at the couple, who still treated her kindly, took the bowl they handed to her, and couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you afraid that I might really be a wanted criminal, as mentioned online?"

The boss laughed heartily, "Your husband chose to believe you over his own mother. There must be some misunderstanding behind all this. Once it's cleared up, you'll be proven innocent."

His wife also smiled, "And you, young lady, look so delicate and weak. You don't seem like someone who could stab another person. Come, eat up. We've charged quite a sum to your husband, so we better take good care of you."

The boss and his wife didn't fear her, nor did they flatter her. They simply treated her like a friend, chatting casually. They also took care of her emotions, bringing warmth to Cecily's heart.

Cecily's lips parted slightly, "Thank you."

After dinner, Cecily had nowhere else to go, so she returned to her room early.

The room was dark, and Cecily sat by the window, her head in her hands. The evening breeze blew into the room, carrying a slight chill.

She looked at the endless sea outside the window. On the beach, Kiera held the boss's hand as they strolled and chatted, the evening breeze gently tousling Cecily's long hair. The man had an indulgent smile on his face, and the two seemed unhurriedly happy.

It was clear that they had a good relationship, a happy one.

This place was actually very nice and quiet and gave a sense of tranquility from the world.

Cecily could have quieted her mind and enjoyed life here if she hadn't had so many burdens weighing her down.

Everything here was what she wanted.

She didn't need great wealth and fortune, just loved ones by her side, one or two lovely children. After dinner, she could take the children for a walk on the beach, admire the stars, and occasionally enjoy some private time with her partner.

Thinking about it, a smile formed on Cecily's face. As she continued smiling, a misty layer appeared in the corner of her eyes.

But it was such a pity that she had never experienced this kind of life.

During her childhood, Cecily never experienced carefree days, and even after getting married, she still hadn't experienced them. She sighed and felt a slight chill from the wind, so she walked over to close the window, picked up the pajamas Kiera had prepared for her, and went to take a shower.

After finishing her shower, Cecily prepared to put on the pajamas and widened her eyes. These pajamas were something else! No wonder Kiera had said she only had this one pair and asked her to make do and wear it, as no one would see her at night anyway.

At the time, Cecily hadn't understood the meaning behind those words. But now, she understood. These pajamas were quite sexy!

Cecily studied them for a while and realized they were more like two pieces of cloth rather than clothes. The fabric barely covered her private areas, and the skirt could barely cover her buttocks. There was also a lace robe on top. Although it had more fabric, it was still quite thin.

Cecily felt her face go hot and quickly put down the clothes. Just then, she heard the sound of the door opening from outside. Cecily's gaze froze. Someone had entered the room!

She furrowed her brow, alert and cautious. Although people were guarding outside, it didn't necessarily mean that others couldn't come in. Cecily glanced at the clothes in her hand, gritted her teeth, and decided to put them on first. It was still better than being naked.

She quickly put on the clothes and found a handy tool in the bathroom, holding it in her hand. The room outside was pitch black, and through a glass door, she felt extremely tense. All her attention was focused on her hearing, yet there was not a sound outside at the moment.

Suddenly, a shadow fell on the glass door, and Cecily tightly gripped the door handle. She quickly opened it, planning to strike with the weapon in her hand while catching the intruder off guard.

But in the next second, her wrist was held, and a familiar breath rushed over her. A large hand grasped her waist.

"So cautious?" Darian's voice rang out. In the darkness, she fell into a pair of deep blue eyes.

A familiar voice, a familiar breath, everything was familiar. Realizing it was Darian, Cecily's tense heart finally relaxed. "You scared me," she said, her voice soft with a hint of coquettishness.

Darian raised his hand and rubbed her head. "Sorry, I'll let you know next time before coming in."

"You said you would come to pick me up in two days, so why did you rush over in the middle of the night?"

Darian let out a low sigh and lowered his head, resting his chin on her shoulder. His voice sounded a bit exhausted. "I missed you. That's why I came."

"What's wrong with you?" Cecily felt that Darian was acting a bit strange, but in the darkness, she couldn't see his facial expression clearly or pinpoint what was off.

While she was pondering, she felt the heavy head on her shoulder lift up, and in the next second, it leaned down and kissed her. Cecily couldn't react in time.

She originally thought that she would be dominated and unable to resist, just like before, but the result was different. Darian's kiss was gentle and lingering.

His kiss was so delicate and slow that it felt even more embarrassing than a passionate kiss.

Blushing, Cecily leaned back and pushed him away to create some distance.

As she looked into his eyes, she couldn't understand the emotions she saw in them all at once.

"What's wrong with you?" she asked.

In the darkness, he kissed her again, and Cecily listened to the sound of their lips and teeth brushing against each other. His breath was heavy and deep as if suppressing his emotions.

His hands against her were cool.

"Darian?"

"Cecily, I was terrible to you before, really terrible. I'm so sorry."

Bending down, he lightly kissed her forehead, careful and reverent in his touch, his voice dry and hoarse.

Today, he experienced the feeling of not being believed by anyone and being surrounded by everyone's attacks.

Hurtful words can be colder than June.

When Cecily was framed and desperately begged him to believe her, she didn't receive a bit of trust. She must have felt hopeless back then.

She was only twenty-three at the time and eight months pregnant. No one believed her. No one helped her. He even helped others hurt her, delivering the most fatal blow.

Darian didn't want to recall that time now.

He really didn't want to recall that time.

Cecily looked at the person in front of her, feeling the suppressed and guilty emotions radiating from him, making her feel like he would kneel down in the next second.
