Chapter 189 Ex-boyfriend Meets Current Boyfriend
Ophelia had originally wanted to see a look of loss on Cecily's face, but she didn't.
Cecily remained indifferent as if she had put on an impenetrable mask that concealed her true emotions.
Ophelia couldn't see what she wanted to see and was even retorted by Cecily. She could only turn around and leave.
After all, she didn't dare to make a big deal out of it and let Darian hear about it. Otherwise, he would only dislike her more.
Ophelia let Tabitha push her away, but as soon as she turned around, her gaze collided with a man exuding coldness all over his body.
The expression on the man's face was ambiguous, filled with a sense of rascality, and just one look made Ophelia's hair stand on end, instantly putting her on guard.
It was him again! It was him!
Ophelia didn't know how much suffering she had endured at his hands.
She couldn't help but tremble slightly.
"Mom! Mom! Mom! Let's go, let's go!" Ophelia didn't dare to stay for even a moment and simply fled.
Cecily was crazy, but this man was even crazier! She was afraid that the next second, she would be dragged down and beaten up.
Tabitha saw how scared she was and didn't ask why, immediately pushing Ophelia away.
Blaise coldly pulled the corner of his lips and withdrew his gaze. His eyes slowly fell on Cecily, and some of the hostility dissipated.
"How come you have time to come over?"
"Passing by."
Blaise followed Cecily and slowly walked into the hospital room. He glanced at the sickbed where Rowan lay and said lightly, "Looks like he's improved a lot."
Rowan looked at Blaise, politely greeting, "Uncle Blaise."
"Mhmm."
"Please, have a seat." Cecily walked over and poured a glass of water for Blaise. Just as she handed the water over, someone forcefully barged in through the door at lightning speed, too fast for even the bodyguards to stop him.
Cecily furrowed her brow and followed her gaze, seeing a man dressed in a gray tracksuit, wearing a bucket hat, a mask, and sunglasses, completely hiding his face.
That outfit... Cecily knew exactly who it was.
The bodyguards moved forward to pull him out, but Cecily raised her hand, "It's All right, he's my friend."
The bodyguards backed off.
Evander lowered his mask, took a few breaths, and walked over to Cecily, looking at the glass of water in her hand. "I happen to be thirsty, thank you."
Cecily tugged at the corner of her lips, but Blaise, with his piercing black eyes, had already raised his gaze and fixed it on Evander's face, a chill rising from the depths of his eyes, devoid of warmth.
"That's! The water! She! Poured for me!" Blaise's words were slow and filled with resentment.
After finishing the water, Evander glanced at the sofa where Blaise was sitting, feeling a slight chill from Blaise's cold gaze. He raised an eyebrow and looked at Cecily, "And who is this?"
Cecily hurriedly poured another glass of water for the man on the sofa, saying, "You drink this. They are the same."
Blaise placed the glass on the table with a "thud," his gaze fixed deeply on Evander.
Cecily knew this guy was angry, afraid that he would flip the table.
She immediately walked over and brought the kettle, carefully placing it in front of Blaise.
Blaise stood up, took Cecily's hand, and coldly answered Evander's question, "I am her boyfriend."
Cecily raised her head in shock. What was this guy playing at?
"What? I'm not your..." she began, but Blaise gave her a stern glare.
Evander raised an eyebrow, his gaze shifting between the two, a faint smile crossing his face. "Well, how coincidental. I am her ex-boyfriend."
An awkward atmosphere spread around them.
"Oh, just an ex-boyfriend." Blaise raised an eyebrow casually as if he didn't care, but his eyes were filled with coldness.
"An ex-boyfriend can also become a current boyfriend, right?"
Blaise turned his head, glanced at the woman beside him, and smirked. "Don't worry, you won't have that chance."
"Well, you never know, right? Cecily."
Evander's handsome face slowly smiled as his attractive eyes glanced at Cecily. His deep voice was mesmerizing.
"Is that so?" Blaise lowered his head, his gaze carrying a threat as if Cecily dared to say yes.
He would immediately take her back to Dorde.
Cecily felt the gaze of both men on her at the same time.
Cecily pursed her lips and shook her head. "You two should argue when you first meet, of all things. You don't have a chance. And you're not my boyfriend, thank you."
A hint of understanding flashed in Evander's eyes. He didn't feel discouraged by Cecily's words. Instead, he said, "Why rush to reject? Maybe you can disagree without refusing. That way, you have two choices anytime, anywhere. In case one day you change your mind, you can turn around and see someone, right?"
Upon hearing this, Cecily looked at Evander strangely.
Honestly, she had never seen someone voluntarily offer themselves as a backup before.
Wasn't this something that most men wouldn't accept? Especially someone like Evander, the popular leading actor pursued by millions.
Blaise raised an eyebrow but remained silent, as if he implicitly agreed with Evander's words.
Cecily looked at the two men.
These two were willing to be backups for "love"?
Cecily thought she had become amazing beyond belief.
She thought that they were just like two people fighting over water, and one with anger, deliberately provoking the other, which led to the topic of "backup and love."
"All right, stop joking. I don't need any backups," Cecily said.
Evander continued, "It's okay. You know me, I'm the type of person who becomes more determined when faced with setbacks. Feel free to reject."
Cecily lightly tugged at her lip, hearing the words "becomes more determined when faced with setbacks."
Evander's temper hadn't changed at all from before.
...
Tabitha hurriedly pushed Ophelia back to the ward and finally had time to ask, "What happened, Ophelia? What did you see just now that scared you so much?"
Ophelia was clearly frightened. Even after returning to the ward, she kept looking back to see if that man was following.
Tabitha reached out and held Ophelia's cold hand. "What happened, Ophelia?"
"Mom! That man, the man who kidnapped me, he is working with Cecily," Ophelia's face slightly whitened, clearly showing the psychological impact she had experienced.
Blaise's appearance and temperament were impossible to ignore, and Tabitha had noticed him just now as well.
"You're saying that the man who kidnapped you this time is also him?"
Ophelia nodded forcefully and said to Tabitha in a panicked manner, "He has been helping Cecily all along, Mom. You should hurry and go tell Dad to find someone to get rid of this person. His presence is a great threat to us."
Tabitha furrowed her brow upon hearing this and replied, "Ophelia, your dad said that man is not someone we can mess with. He said we must never provoke him."
"Why?" Ophelia didn't understand. She had never heard of this man at Silver Frost Capital, but he must be somewhat formidable if even the Flores family couldn't handle him. Could he be someone important?
"I'm not sure either, but it's best to listen to your dad. We should avoid getting involved with that person."
"But he has been protecting Cecily all this time!"
"So what? Once you marry Darian, you will become Mrs. Fitzgerald. It won't matter who protects Cecily." Tabitha advised Ophelia.
However, Ophelia couldn't calm down. The man's gaze seemed dangerous, like a ferocious beast ready to tear her apart at any moment.
