Chapter 704 Countless Rings
Everyone heard that shout.
"Daddy? Wait, Ms. Bennett's kids are calling Mr. Fitzgerald 'Daddy'?"
"So, Ms. Bennett's husband is Mr. Fitzgerald, and these two kids are Mr. Fitzgerald's children!"
"Ms. Bennett's husband is actually Mr. Fitzgerald!"
"Oh my God, Imogen just said the kids grew up in a bad environment. She's totally crazy!"
Imogen and Cecilia were completely stunned.
They were already shocked when the rings were brought in, and even more so when they saw Darian and Cecily talking, and the kids calling Darian 'Daddy.'
Especially Imogen, she couldn't understand why no one had ever told her that Cecily's husband was Darian!
"Do you know what's happening here?" Cecily looked at the trays of diamond rings and let out a helpless laugh.
Darian usually didn't like to show off, but when someone looked down on him and accused his son of stealing, he couldn't stand it.
The hosts of tonight's banquet, the Vasquez family, quickly came out.
They had noticed the situation earlier but didn't want to offend either side, so they planned to stay out of it and let things settle down before stepping in. But they didn't expect the situation to escalate, and now Darian was here.
They had no choice but to intervene.
The Vasquez family was also feeling wronged. They had planned this banquet to get to know and please Cecily, but someone kept causing trouble, and it wasn't a minor issue.
Alfonso Vasquez and his daughter Maeve Vasquez hurried to Darian. "Mr. Fitzgerald, it's an honor to have you here."
"I'm just here to pick up my wife and kids," Darian said coldly.
"We are honored to have Ms. Bennett and your kids at the banquet today," Alfonso said, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead.
"I heard they weren't happy at the banquet."
"It was just a little misunderstanding."
"I heard someone accused them of stealing," Darian's words were icy.
Hearing this, Imogen and Cecilia shivered.
They had heard of Darian and knew he was not to be messed with, but they never thought they would end up provoking him.
They looked at Giselle, believing she must have known who Cecily's husband was, but she hadn't told them, letting them continue to harass and insult Cecily.
She tried to use them to trouble Cecily, but they ended up in trouble themselves.
They both wished they could escape at that moment.
When Darian heard that Rowan and Griffin were accused of stealing rings, he displayed countless rings to show his strong stance.
They both hated Giselle at that moment.
Alfonso, hearing Darian's words, didn't know how to respond.
He wiped his cold sweat, wondering how he had offended Giselle, making her cause trouble at his banquet, seemingly wanting to ruin him.
"Who said my kids stole the rings?" Darian asked.
Alfonso quickly pointed to Imogen and the others. "It was them."
Feeling the terrifying gaze, Imogen instinctively waved her hand. "It wasn't me."
"It was her; she said all those things," Cecilia quickly stepped aside, distancing herself from Imogen and putting all the blame on her.
Imogen was dumbfounded. They had done it together, and now she was shirking responsibility. Imogen pulled Cecilia back, determined that if she was going down, they would go down together.
Imogen was trembling all over. "Mr. Fitzgerald."
"Did you say my son stole your ring?" Darian stood there, with countless diamond rings behind him, making Imogen's words seem utterly ridiculous.
Imogen felt as if a giant hand was choking her, unable to make a sound.
After a long while, tears rolled down her face as she said, "Mr. Fitzgerald, I know I was wrong. I was talking nonsense; I won't dare to do it again."
The earlier apology was forced by Giselle, but this one was sincere.
Imogen was truly scared.
Cecilia was also scared, bowing her head and trembling all over.
"Didn't they say Mr. Fitzgerald's son would steal? The diamond rings in his house could probably fill a swimming pool, and she said Mr. Fitzgerald's son stole her lousy ring. It's hilarious."
"Exactly, every ring here is better than her lousy ring, and she falsely accused someone with countless diamond rings of stealing her one lousy ring."
The mocking voices around them rose and fell.
Under the public condemnation, the three of them wished they could escape.
Giselle hadn't said a word since Darian entered, her eyes filled with despair and confusion.
Imogen kept apologizing and begging for forgiveness, but Darian remained silent, making Imogen feel doomed.
"Mr. Vasquez, how do you plan to handle this?" Darian asked the sweating Alfonso.
"Huh?" Alfonso glanced at Darian, then quickly looked away, glancing at the three of them.
He knew if he didn't handle it, and let Darian deal with it personally, it wouldn't be simple.
Alfonso immediately said to the three of them, "Tonight's banquet was to honor Ms. Bennett, but you three have caused chaos. You are no longer welcome here, please leave."
Giselle closed her eyes tightly.
As the second daughter of the Bennett family, she was always admired wherever she went, and no one dared to show her disrespect. Being kicked out was a great humiliation.
