Chapter 296 Exposing Everything About Her

Eliza's heart suddenly trembled, her eyes fixed on Sandra. She widened her eyes in shock, and a strong sense of panic surged within her. She had never expected Sandra to directly call out her name.

The people around also heard this and cast curious glances. "Eliza? Who is Eliza?"

"Who is Sandra calling out to?"

"Not sure."

"From the way she spoke, it seems like she was addressing the Bennett family's heiress."

Desmond furrowed his brows, his gaze filled with doubt and seriousness. He stared at Sandra and asked, "Sandra, who are you calling out to?"

Sandra, seeing her son almost getting hurt because of Eliza, didn't care anymore and angrily pointed at Eliza, saying, "The Eliza I'm talking about is her, this person. She is not the Bennett family's heiress at all. She has deceived all of you. Her face has been surgically altered, and her real name is Eliza. She is the adopted daughter of the Fitzgerald family!"

Sandra's words resonated powerfully and caused quite a stir among the crowd.

"What? Is it true?"

"Is Sandra joking? What surgery? Eliza is pretending to be the Bennett family's heiress. If I remember correctly, the Fitzgerald family did have an adopted daughter, but she died over a decade ago, right?"

"Huh? So why is Sandra calling the Bennett family's heiress Eliza now?"

Everyone looked at Sandra and Eliza with puzzled expressions. Desmond, listening to Sandra's words, narrowed his eyes and looked at Eliza with a suspicious gaze.

Eliza shook her head eagerly. "Mrs. Thompson, what are you talking about? Eliza? I don't understand what you mean."

She desperately defended herself, "Mr.Bradshaw, she is talking nonsense. I have no idea what she is saying."

After speaking, Eliza immediately turned to Sandra and retorted loudly, "Mrs. Thompson, what nonsense are you talking about? Eliza? I am not her. My mother is Vivienne, and I am a Bennett. Please don't speak nonsense here."

"Sandra!" Cecily urgently called out to Sandra, trying to stop her from continuing. Just relying on the similarity of a scar was not persuasive, and Eliza could easily turn the situation around with a few words. Now was not the best time to expose this.

But Sandra was too angry to care about anyone's objections. "Am I talking nonsense?" Sandra sneered and grabbed Eliza's arm, displaying it in front of everyone. "You don't admit that you are Eliza? Fine, then let me ask you, how did you get this scar on your hand? Why is it exactly the same as the scar on my adopted daughter Eliza's hand? You can't deny that you are Eliza!"

Eliza, whose heart was racing with anxiety, felt a moment of relief when she heard Sandra's words. So, they still hadn't found any evidence to prove that she was Eliza. Sandra's accusation was solely based on a similar scar.

Sandra had thought that she had solid evidence to prove Eliza's identity when she stood up so decisively to accuse her. However, her claim sounded extremely far-fetched to everyone who didn't know the truth.

Eliza gradually calmed down and looked at Sandra, asking, "Mrs. Thompson, are you referring to this scar?" Eliza raised her hand in a calm manner, not hiding anything, not a hint of guilt or evasion in her eyes.

She spoke, "This scar was left from a car accident I had years ago. So, Mrs. Thompson, your point is because I have a scar similar to your adopted daughter's, I must be Eliza, right?"

"Yes, your scar is exactly the same as my adopted daughter's scar. Do you have any reason to deny that you are not Eliza?" Sandra did not notice the ambiguity in Eliza's words.

Listening to her response, Eliza smiled faintly and nodded gently. "Alright, I understand. So, according to your logic, can I assume that anyone with this scar is your adopted daughter Eliza?"

"I..."

Sandra tried to reply, but Eliza forcefully interrupted, saying loudly, "Mrs. Thompson, this is quite amusing. Relying on a similar scar to identify your daughter, it's as absurd as saying that I am your daughter because we both have long hair. If that's the case, I suggest you see a doctor. You're probably missing your daughter so much that you've lost your sanity."

The guests, after hearing this conversation, looked at Sandra with hidden amusement in their eyes. "Indeed, having a scar on the arm is quite normal. I have scars on my arms too. If we go by Sandra's reasoning, does that mean I also become her adopted daughter Eliza?"

"Moreover, Eliza has been dead for many years. The media covered it extensively. How could someone who has been dead for over a decade become the Bennett family's heiress? It's absurd."

Faced with disbelief, Sandra was at a loss for words. She realized that Eliza had turned the situation around and quickly added, "I didn't come to this conclusion based solely on a scar. When I saw her scar, she looked panicked and deliberately tried to avoid it, clearly afraid of me seeing the scar and recognizing it. That's why I was so certain."

Eliza pursed her lips and said, "I believe no one wants their ugly scar to be seen. I just had the most normal reaction at that time. Mrs. Thompson, I never expected you to create such a big fuss out of this small and genuine reaction."

Sandra was infuriated by her words. "You're full of lies!"

"I'm just telling the truth."

Sandra's face twisted with anger. She never expected the girl who used to follow her obediently to become like this.

"Mr.Bradshaw." Cecily looked at Desmond, who had been watching Eliza and Sandra, and spoke, "While Sandra's claims may be hard to believe outright, her identity is already suspicious, isn't it?" With the previous plastic surgery incident and now Sandra's direct accusation, the elders of the Bennett family should have doubts about her identity.

Desmond carefully considered Cecily's words. Eliza glanced at Cecily, then turned to the silent Desmond and said, "Mr.Bradshaw, Sandra's words are just her own baseless speculations. My father and I have done a paternity test, which proves that I am his and my mother Vivienne's daughter. Matilda can also testify for me. Isn't that enough?"

Desmond remained silent, weighing the arguments.

Eliza anxiously looked at Desmond. If he didn't announce to everyone that she was the Bennett family's heiress today, it would be seen as casting suspicion on her identity. Her position as the Bennett family's heiress would be compromised. She couldn't allow that to happen.

Eliza scanned the guests, but Owen and the Watson family were nowhere to be seen. No one else was speaking up for her.

Eliza felt a sense of urgency and looked at Desmond with a pleading and anxious expression. She said, "Mr.Bradshaw, please believe me. I am really Cecily. This person is here to cause trouble. Please don't be deceived by her. I beg you to announce my identity quickly. Everyone is discussing it, and if you hesitate any longer, you will be playing into the hands of this impostor."

Desmond looked at her deeply, pondering for a long time. He picked up the microphone and addressed the guests, "Please, everyone, quiet down."

Eliza watched Desmond, her hands sweating nervously, her heart racing.
