Chapter 155 Urgent Situation
The two exchanged a malicious smile, with a glint of wickedness in their eyes.
"I can't wait anymore. I need to go to Fitzgerald's Family and see the current situation. You stay here," Ophelia said as she picked up her bag and walked out.
At the moment, Fitzgerald's Family had mobilized everyone to find Rowan.
Griffin returned from outside and saw Cecily here. He immediately ran happily towards her. "Mommy, what are you doing?"
Cecily brightened up but quickly caught herself. "Griffin?"
"Yeah, Mommy, is something wrong? What are you all looking for?"
Cecily couldn't help but redden her eyes as she looked at Griffin. She softly said, "It's nothing, nothing."
It's unclear whether she was telling the child or herself that it's nothing.
"Griffin, can you go find a safe place with more people and stay there?"
Seeing everyone in such a rush, it must be a big problem. He couldn't be of any help here, and he didn't want to cause any trouble, so he obediently went to sit in the living room.
Sandra looked at everyone searching for a child who may not necessarily be in Fitzgerald's Family, causing her temples to throb with anger.
"Grandma," Griffin politely called her.
Sandra glanced at him with irritation and replied, not very pleased, but still responded to him.
Ophelia looked at the chaotic Fitzgerald's Family and smirked. She walked in and approached Sandra, pretending to be surprised. "I just saw everyone outside looking for something. What's going on?"
"What more can be done, it's that Cecily again," Sandra said angrily. She heard that Cecily's child, who was believed to have died years ago, was actually alive and being kept hidden by our Fitzgerald's Family. And now, she's dragging our whole family here to look for the child. Darian is just being dragged along with her nonsense."
She didn't believe the excuse that a child was lost and thought that Cecily was using it as an excuse to get close to Darian.
Upon hearing this, Griffin's heart skipped a beat. Was his brother in danger?
Frowning, Griffin immediately got up and left.
Ophelia glanced at Griffin discreetly, sitting next to Sandra with a shocked expression. "What child? Didn't her child die years ago? How could..."
"He didn't die. We should have known sooner. If she can fake her own death, then her child probably can too. She's so cunning," Sandra said, getting angrier as she spoke and angrily patting the armrest beside her.
Seeing this, Ophelia couldn't contain her smile, quickly hiding it and sighing softly. She lightly patted Sandra's back and said, "Aunt, calm down. It's not worth getting angry over someone like her."
Sandra let out a breath and rubbed her temples. She turned to Ophelia and asked, "By the way, why did you suddenly come over?"
Ophelia smiled gently and responded, "I thought Darian is usually busy with work and doesn't have much time to accompany you. I was afraid you'd feel bored at home, so I thought I could come and chat with you."
Sandra nodded. "You're considerate."
Ophelia glanced at the busy crowd with a furrowed brow and worriedly suggested, "Should I help look for the child too?"
Sandra immediately pulled her back. "Don't bother. Let them search on their own. Sit here with me, have a cup of coffee, and chat. I'm about to get furious."
Ophelia smiled warmly and stood up, dutifully squeezing Sandra's shoulder. "Alright, don't get angry. Be careful of your health. It's not worth it."
Sandra laughed, feeling much better. "You always know what to say to brighten the mood. Help me onto the wheelchair and push me upstairs."
"Of course, Aunt."
In her heart, Ophelia sneered. They won't be able to find that child. Even if they do, they're probably too late. Cecily's child died in Fitzgerald's Family, and even if she can understand that Darian wasn't responsible, there will always be a scar in her heart.
Cecily and Darian would forever be separated by a lifetime; they could never be together again.
...
Larkin searched throughout Fitzgerald's Family, but in the end he reluctantly came to Darian's side and said, "Mr. Fitzgerald, we couldn't find Rowan."
Darian rubbed his forehead in frustration and asked, "Did you search every place carefully?"
Cecily said that the child was behind Fitzgerald's Family, so she had people block every exit of Fitzgerald's Family and it was impossible for anyone to leave. Since Cecily was so certain that the child was behind Fitzgerald's Family and they couldn't find anyone now, the child couldn't have just disappeared.
Larkin hesitated for a moment and said, "We've searched everywhere except for the room that Ms. Thompson forbade others from entering."
Darian furrowed his brows and looked at the woman beside him, who looked extremely upset.
After hesitating for a moment, he said, "Go check."
"Mr. Fitzgerald, are you sure?" Larkin was surprised and not entirely sure, so he asked again.
"Hmm."
Larkin hesitated again, and then replied, "...okay."
Just as they were about to leave, Griffin hurriedly ran downstairs and said, "Dad, Mommy."
Cecily immediately squatted down when she saw how worried Griffin was and asked, "What's wrong?"
"I heard a sound coming from the room at the far end on the left side of the third floor."
Upon hearing this, Darian narrowed his eyes.
There were a total of three rooms on the third floor, and the room at the far end on the left side was his father's study. After his father passed away, besides the maid who cleaned the room, Sandra didn't allow anyone else to enter.
That room was usually locked, and without a key, no one could enter. That was also why Darian hesitated.
However, now Griffin said he heard a sound coming from inside!
Darian also crouched down and asked again, "What kind of sound did you hear?"
Griffin thought for a moment and replied, "It was a thumping sound, like someone hitting the floor."
Darian and Cecily exchanged a glance, and Darian immediately ordered Larkin, "Go check it out."
"Yes, I'll go right away."
Cecily was extremely anxious at this moment. She suddenly stood up and swayed her body violently, the pain in her back making her lips turn pale.
Darian quickly reached out to support Cecily's back.
"Ah!" Cecily gasped for a breath.
Darian's pupils trembled as he finally realized what was going on. He furrowed his brows and pulled her in front of him.
Cecily, "What are you doing?"
Ignoring Cecily's resistance, Darian pulled down her jacket, revealing blood-stained clothes underneath.
Underneath the torn clothes was a simple wound, the redness of the skin around it was striking. Darian's expression turned even colder, gritting his teeth, "Cecily, do you want to die?"
Cecily pulled her clothes back, "I won't die."
"Can you f***ing take care of yourself?" Darian's eyes filled with even colder anger. He grabbed her but didn't dare touch her wound. He pulled her along angrily, "Go call a doctor."
