Chapter 355 Darian Learns About Cecily's Kidney Donation

When Darian arrived at the hospital, Larkin stood at the door of the operating room, his face clouded with worry. He shook his head at Darian.

The doctor had just explained that Eliza's eyes were completely destroyed.

Darian stopped in his tracks, saying nothing.

Larkin felt uneasy seeing Darian's expression.

"Boss."

Darian raised his hand slightly, and Larkin's voice ceased.

"When she comes out, take her to the Fitzgerald family dungeon. If she wants to go mad, let her go mad."

"What about Miss Watson?"

What about her?

Cecily now had to wait for a donor, and corneas are donated by deceased individuals, which could be a long process. No one knew how long it would take.

The only good thing was that corneas didn't require matching; Eliza's could work, and so could his.

Though the idea was somewhat insane.

At that moment, Darian would rather be blind himself than see Cecily lose her sight.

Darian did not answer and left directly.

At home, the two little ones in Cecily's arms were crying their hearts out, making Cecily's eyes well up with tears.

"Alright, my darlings, the doctor said my eyes are still healing, and crying isn't good. If you keep crying, I'll want to cry too."

Instantly, the sobbing stopped, remarkably effective.

Cecily couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time.

"Not crying anymore?"

Griffin, with his little mouth pursed, still felt miserable.

"Mommy, does it still hurt?" he asked, tears streaming down again.

He couldn't stop, not at all.

Cecily had to fumble to wipe Griffin's tears, "It doesn't hurt at all, but if you keep crying, my heart will ache. Can you bear that?"

Griffin raised his hand to pinch her lips, still shedding tears, "Mommy, I really won't cry anymore."

Cecily could imagine Griffin silently crying at that moment without even looking.

She smiled helplessly and stroked Rowan's head. "Rowan, don't be sad either. Mommy will get better, I promise."

Rowan reached out to hug Cecily and said firmly, "Okay, we'll help Mommy get better together."

"Alright." Cecily smiled, pretending to be light-hearted.

Rowan looked around and finally noticed someone was missing, "Mommy, where's Daddy? Didn't he come back with you?"

"You still remember me when you're in trouble." Darian returned from outside, feeling quite gratified to hear himself mentioned.

"Daddy."

"Daddy."

Cecily said, "You're back."

Darian took off his suit jacket and handed it to the servant beside him, "Yes, have you had dinner?"

"We were waiting for you."

"Then let's go eat first."

After dinner, Cecily held Darian's hand as they walked with Rowan and Griffin in the garden to digest their food. "How is Eliza?"

Darian frowned and said, "Don't mention her."

Cecily didn't say much more. She was already an irrelevant person to her.

Hayden came hurriedly, looking like he had urgent news, "Darian, Cecily."

Cecily nodded slightly, "Mr. Davis, you're here."

Hayden raised the hand holding a file folder, winking at Darian, his expression not looking good.

Darian's gaze moved from the file folder in Hayden's hand to his face, giving him a look.

Hayden nodded.

"I have some matters to discuss with Hayden. Shall I take you back to your room?" Darian asked gently.

"The flowers are blooming, and the scent is lovely. I'd like to stay a bit longer. Go ahead. Rowan and Griffin are here with me."

Griffin immediately chimed in, "We'll take good care of Mommy."

Rowan nodded and said, "That's right."

Darian managed a slight smile, "Take good care of your mommy."

Griffin snorted, "We would, even without you telling us."

Darian turned and went to the study with Hayden.

"Did you find out what I asked you to investigate?"

Hayden's brows furrowed, his usually carefree face now filled with tension. "Yes."

Darian glanced at his expression and gestured for him to hand over the documents.

Hayden clutched the file folder to his chest, "Darian, promise me you'll stay calm after reading this. You must stay calm."

Darian's eyes flickered with a deep look. "Okay."

Hayden tightened his grip on the file folder before finally handing it to Darian with hesitation.

Darian opened the folder, taking out the examination report, the surgical report, and finally, an organ donation consent form.

Hayden watched as Darian meticulously examined the thin sheets of paper, his heart pounding rapidly.

No one could have imagined that Cecily's surgery years ago was for organ donation, and the recipient was Darian.

Darian, seated in the soft chair, focused intently on the papers in his hands, unable to look away.

His heart felt as if it had been struck, a wave of suffocation washing over him.

"That can't be."
