Chapter 391 Fainting into Darian's Arms

"Yes, Mrs. Vivienne, it's all our fault. Please don't be angry with Dad. No, I mean Uncle Bryan. If you don't like it, I'll call him Mr. Bryan from now on. Please don't be angry with him. He really loves you."

Jennifer and Freya stood beside Bryan, gently persuading her. If it were anyone else, they would have praised them for being so considerate and understanding.

Vivienne only felt it was ironic. It was always the same few sentences, and Bryan would always pity them. If she retorted, she would be the one who was unreasonable and unforgiving.

Vivienne coldly brushed Bryan's hand away, not giving them any eye contact, her voice icy and calm.

"Get out, all of you."

Bryan frowned and said, "Give me a few minutes to finish talking."

"I don't want to."

"Do you always have to be like this?"

"I said get out." Vivienne's cold voice grew a few degrees harsher.

The people in the living room turned to look.

Cecily said, "Mom."

Rowan and Griffin blinked, looking helplessly at the scene. "Grandma."

Vivienne swallowed her anger, glanced at Bryan, and said, "Outside."

She didn't want the kids to see the adults arguing so fiercely. It was unsightly.

Vivienne strode out, Bryan pressed his lips tightly together, and followed her out.

Seeing this, Jennifer and Freya exchanged a smile. The conflict had been stirred up, and it seemed that Vivienne and Bryan's marriage was at its end this time.

Jennifer couldn't suppress the smile at the corner of her lips.

She hadn't expected this unexpected joy, to make Vivienne completely disappointed in Bryan and get a divorce.

Freya saw Darian sitting on the living room couch and shyly tugged on Jennifer's arm.

Jennifer gave her a look and said, "Go ahead."

Freya nodded, gently straightened her clothes, and walked over.

Her gaze first fell on Darian, then on Evander.

Two handsome men sat beside Cecily, an overwhelming aura spreading around them that made it hard to breathe.

Freya's heart pounded, her gaze finally landing on Cecily. Cecily leaned calmly on the couch, silent, yet seeming to see through everything.

Freya lightly bit her lip. The first time she saw Cecily at the Bennett family banquet, she didn't like her.

At that time, she was jealous, jealous of how a blind woman could have such a good man love her.

She didn't deserve it.

Cecily was just lucky to become Vivienne's daughter, nothing noble about that.

Freya didn't think she was any worse than Cecily.

Sooner or later, she would replace Cecily as the woman beside Darian.

Jealousy lingered in her eyes for a moment, then Freya's face showed a self-reproachful expression. "Cecily, is your injury better?"

Cecily glanced at her lightly and said indifferently, "Aurelie, take Rowan and Griffin upstairs to play for a while."

Aurelie gave Jennifer and Freya a cold look, understanding Cecily's meaning, and took Rowan and Griffin by the hand. "Rowan and Griffin, let's go. I'll take you upstairs to play."

With Rowan and Griffin gone, Cecily's expression turned completely cold.

"You've seen my temperament, and I've seen your behavior. No one here wants to watch your performance. It's getting tiresome. Don't you think?"

Cecily made a gesture of please, indicating they could leave.

She didn't want to see them putting on an act here any longer.

Freya bit her lip. Cecily embarrassed her every time.

Freya's eyes blazed with anger, a calculating thought flashing through her mind.

"Cecily, you don't have to hold such a grudge against us. We just want to live a good life. Is that so hard?

You and Mrs. Vivienne have everything, while my mother and I have nothing. Only Mr. Bryan is willing to take us in. If that makes you unhappy, we'll leave.

But Cecily, you can't keep humiliating us just because you don't like us."

As Freya spoke, she sneaked a glance at Darian.

She thought Darian should say something now to help her play out this scene.

Unfortunately, Darian's dark eyes remained cold, not giving her a single glance.

The room fell silent all of a sudden.

No one responded to Freya's words. Her eyes flickered, and after a moment of awkwardness, she began to cry pitifully.

Evander lazily leaned back on the couch, clapping his hands with a smile. He looked at Freya, his handsome features relaxing. "Your name is Freya?"

Freya nodded, not understanding. "Yes, I am."

"Good, very good. I'll remember you."

Freya's eyes flashed, a surge of excitement rising in her heart. She had seen Evander at Bella's birthday party the other night and had been smitten with him.

Evander was the young master of the Lockwood family, already a movie star at a young age, and the dream man of countless girls.

Although her target was Darian, she didn't mind having more outstanding men like her. It would only better showcase her charm.

Freya bit her lip coquettishly and said, "Mr. Lockwood..."

"With such good acting skills, if there's ever a role for a manipulative woman who pretends to be innocent, you'll be the first one I think of."

Freya's expression turned pale instantly.

The sarcastic remark was so obvious, and without thinking it further, she already understood it.

"Mr. Lockwood, you..." She bit her lower lip, lowering her head as if tears would fall any second.

"What's wrong? You don't want to?" Evander's face was cold, his eyebrows raised slightly.

"Mr. Lockwood, I appreciate your kindness, but there's no need. That kind of role wouldn't suit Freya. She couldn't play it."

Jennifer stepped forward, pulling Freya to her side. After all, she was a middle-aged woman who had been scheming for years and was naturally more composed than Freya.

"Indeed," Evander responded indifferently, "You seem more suitable than her. It's a pity you two aren't actors."

"Don't be modest."

Jennifer's lips twitched, seething with anger inside.

Freya felt even more humiliated, her expression gloomy, her whole body trembling slightly.

The next second, she took a deep breath, rolled her eyes, and fell straight towards Darian.

Darian was sitting in a position where he could catch Freya entirely in his arms.
