Chapter 101: Speak up when you feel wronged
"Donovan, you..." Paisley panicked.
She used to live in Donovan's house, and their relationship was very ambiguous, as if she belonged to Donovan.
But now he was letting her live in Donovan and Chloe's house. What was going on? Were they just their guests? Dependent on others?
Wasn't she a big star who could afford her own house?
Donovan didn't say anything, just waited for the staff at the Housing Bureau to finish the procedure.
Once the property ownership certificate was obtained, he handed it to Paisley. "Hold onto the property ownership certificate. You'll need it for many transactions."
"But, Donovan..." Paisley was about to say something, but Donovan turned his body towards Chloe and said seriously, "Speak up when you feel wronged. Don't come back to cry to me! Let's go!"
He grabbed Chloe's hand and walked out.
Duan Lianyi poked Paisley's arm from behind. "What's going on?"
"How would I know?" Paisley said irritably.
Paisley stared at the backs of Chloe and Donovan, her eyes filled with malice.
Just now, Donovan said Chloe "felt wronged." Paisley thought, Chloe, we have plenty of time!
Until they got on the car, Chloe was still a bit confused, not knowing what Donovan meant.
She thought that Donovan might be doing this for Paisley's benefit, after all, he was the CEO of a listed company and his house was being occupied by a female star. These things would be enough for journalists to dig up. Being such a shrewd person, Donovan would want to avoid a drop in stock prices, and having Chloe's name involved would prevent a lot of misunderstandings.
Anyway, the agreement stated that Donovan's assets had nothing to do with her, the name on the property deed could be added or removed, and he had the right to explain.
Although Chloe's resentment had not really disappeared today, she was still moved by Donovan's gesture. After all, he was telling Paisley, and also telling her, that in the house belonging to Donovan and Chloe, Paisley lived there as their guest.
However, there was one thing Chloe didn't understand. Weren't he and Paisley a couple? Why was he doing this for Paisley?
Just when Chloe was puzzled, her phone rang.
It was a system message from the training course she had registered for earlier, saying that Chloe had passed the economic law exam and she needed to go to the ZF Building to pick up her score report.
In an instant, all her worries disappeared, and a smile appeared on Chloe's lips. She hadn't even had a chance to check her score yet, and she was already asked to go get the report. She quickly opened the query website to check her score: 84 points. Quite high.
"Can you take me to ZF Building?" Chloe asked.
Donovan knew that ZF Building was the place where Chloe had trained before, but he didn't seem very interested. "What are you going there for?"
"I passed my economic law exam and they asked me to pick up the score report." Chloe added, "I scored 84 points, by the way, 84 points."
"Hmm, is that high?" Donovan said without any emotional attachment. At an intersection, he tapped on the steering wheel and drove towards ZF Building.
"Of course..." Chloe suddenly didn't want to say anymore. Obviously, Donovan wasn't interested in how many points she scored, and considering he graduated from a foreign prestigious university, he naturally wouldn't have paid attention to such a small score.
When they arrived at ZF Building, Chloe said, "Wait for me here, I'll be back in a bit."
After saying that, she happily got out of the car and walked briskly towards ZF Building.
Jacob's car was parked over there, and from a distance, he saw Chloe approaching.
Chloe's appearance impressed Jacob. To be honest, Chloe was already a very beautiful girl, tall and fair-skinned with long legs, although she used to dress casually, she could still be recognized in a crowd. Now, wearing a short skirt and a red vest, she looked even more stunning. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that she was the most beautiful girl in the neighborhood, or even the whole city.
Noticing Chloe getting out of the car, Jacob saw Donovan sitting inside, smoking and looking in his direction.
Jacob thought to himself: Did Donovan feel embarrassed when Chloe packed up her clothes and thought she looked shabby? Did he lose face for Mr. Blake and buy new clothes for Chloe?
Chloe went to the academic affairs office. There weren't many students who passed, and everyone came to pick up their grade reports at different times, so Chloe was the only student in the office, along with the teacher Brayden.
When Brayden saw Chloe, he felt the same way as Jacob.
"Brayden," Chloe felt a little embarrassed. After all, Brayden had caused a scene with Donovan at hillside villa last time.
"Chloe, you got 84 points, it's a high score. I never scored that high in my economic law class," Brayden said gently.
Chloe thought to herself: Brayden understands. He knows this score is high, unlike someone else.
"Mainly because Brayden is a good teacher," Chloe said.
"No matter how well I teach, there are still classmates who didn't pass. Is it still worth coming here to learn financial cost management?" Brayden asked again.
Chloe thought to herself: So many things happened in just one economic law class, if financial cost management is taught here, wouldn't the world collapse?
"Oh, no, I have plenty of time to review this book, and I don't have time to attend classes. I won't come to learn," Chloe politely said.
Brayden nodded and looked at Chloe's attire again. "You look great in this outfit!"
His scrutiny made Chloe's hair stand on end, reminding her of the conflicts she had had because of him. She wished she hadn't worn this outfit.
"Oh, really? Thank you, Brayden. I'll be leaving now," Chloe said politely and left the academic affairs office.
She almost bumped into someone.
