Because it was dark, Donovan wasn't driving fast, and Chloe and Jane were sitting in the back.
Chloe anxiously asked Jane, "What exactly happened? How did Jeffery get kicked out of the military?"
In front of Donovan, Jane felt embarrassed to say it was because she had slept with Jeffery, so she texted Chloe: [I called Jeffery's dorm, and his roommate said it was because Jeffery slept with someone else outside, and his conduct was deemed inappropriate.]

Seeing Barbara's outfit, Jane felt both heartbroken and angry. She was heartbroken because Jeffery really sleep with someone else. She was angry because the person he slept with was someone like Barbara!
What did Barbara have that she didn't?
But at that moment, Jane pushed aside these absurd thoughts. She wanted to know how Jeffery was doing. She suppressed her anger and coldly asked, "Where's Jeffery?"
"So you are here for him. I'll go get him; you guys come in first." Barbara said, letting the three of them in. After pouring them water like a host, she went to Jeffery's room.
She prayed, 'Please, Jeffery, don't lock the door. Please don't, or I'll be exposed, and that would be embarrassing.'
She pushed the door open directly, and fortunately, Jeffery hadn't locked it.
After entering, she closed the door behind her.
Jane watched the closed door, feeling utterly dejected. Barbara was just a small-time actress!
Chloe and Donovan exchanged glances, equally puzzled about how Jeffery got involved with Barbara.
Barbara turned on the light in Jeffery's room and sat on his bed, nudging him.
