Chapter 286 She Is Very Stubborn

In Donovan's office, Charles arrived.

"Come with me to the audit department," Charles said, his tone somewhat irritated.

"Why? Don’t you have a PhD? Can’t you solve it?" Donovan replied, clearly enjoying the situation.

" Donovan, what's your take on Mario's actions? He's neglecting his own company's work to prioritize someone else's. Does he even grasp the concept of priorities?" Charles pointed upstairs, cursing Mario.

Donovan chuckled again, "Don't worry. Take it easy. The audit department doesn't have enough staff right now, so I'm in the process of hiring more."

"Hiring won't solve the immediate problem. The work of our finance department is crucial," Charles fumed. "Come on, let's head upstairs and locate him. He won't listen to anyone except you.”

Charles wanted Donovan to go upstairs and mediate.

"Now you think of me for disputes?" Donovan didn't want to go; he was busy signing off on materials submitted by his secretary.

"Of course, you're the boss. You're the best at quelling others' anger," Charles teased Donovan.

"Quelling anger?" Donovan looked up at Charles, "I don't even know who will quell my own anger."

"Be serious, Donovan. Where's Chloe?" Charles looked around but didn't see Chloe, so he asked Donovan.

In the morning, Charles noticed Chloe bringing materials to Donovan in the conference room. Charles was aware that Donovan had Chloe visit the company to confirm her presence. Moreover, Donovan had recently mentioned "quelling anger," which was clearly about controlling his own desires. This brought Charles to naturally think about Chloe.

"Didn't she come this morning? Where is she? Did she leave?" Charles saw the blanket neatly folded on the sofa and knew it was Chloe's.

"She didn't leave. She's upstairs doing yoga."

"Why don't you go? I know that to get to Mario's office, you have to pass by the yoga room, which has glass doors," Charles suggested.

"I'm not going. Handle it yourself," Donovan leaned back, his eyes not leaving the documents.

"If I could handle it on my own, I wouldn't be asking you. Come on, go and put Mario in his place," Charles said, spinning Donovan's office chair. "I know you want to see Chloe. If you don't go now, I won't accept any more excuses.”

"I can see her anytime I want," Donovan said seriously, but he still stood up and went.

As they reached the top floor, they walked past the yoga room. Donovan's steps involuntarily slowed down.

Her pregnant belly was quite prominent, and she was dressed in very little, accentuating her figure.

"Your wife is hot," Charles said, "Even more so now that she's pregnant."

"Don't talk nonsense!" Donovan scolded Charles.

Just the mention of "quelling anger" brought anger bubbling up inside him. Wearing so little, who was she trying to seduce?

Through the glass door, Chloe was on all fours on the mat, executing a complex move that involved extending her right leg and left arm simultaneously while maintaining balance.

For an average person, it might have been easy, but for Chloe, who was six months pregnant, it required a significant amount of physical strength.

The sun shone on her, and Donovan could clearly see the sweat on her forehead, dripping onto the yoga mat.

"If you can't keep up, you don't have to do it," Rebecca said.

"I can!" Chloe gritted her teeth.

After this move, the next required grabbing her foot from behind, which was difficult even for an ordinary person.

"Yoga is not about fighting yourself. Do what you can," Rebecca advised Chloe.

Chloe slowly turned, her hand gradually reaching her foot and grabbing it.

"Great job. The baby should be proud to have such a strong and determined mother," Rebecca said, encouraging her to keep going.

Rebecca didn't notice Donovan and Charles outside.

They continued towards Mario's office.

"Your wife has a strong will," Charles said. "Even exhausted, she doesn't give up."

"Really?" Donovan's face darkened.

Wasn't she determined? Everyone doubted whether her mother, Amelia, would make it, but she managed to secure money and work part-time to ensure Amelia's recovery. If it hadn't been for Gordon, Amelia would still be alive; she was set on studying abroad and advancing beyond her undergraduate degree. Even though he rescinded her offer, she persevered. He had intended to recruit her to work at New East Group, but now he found it challenging.

She was very stubborn!
