Chapter 267 Never Seen Donovan Smile Before
Back home, Chloe went to her room and wrote a letter to Suncrest University: she had received an offer and would start on time. She asked Suncrest University to mail her physical offer to Wade.
The door creaked, and Donovan walked in.
Chloe was too scared to speak and quickly closed her laptop.
"Take your medicine," Donovan said.
Chloe was all over the place, thinking, 'If I keep living with Donovan and he keeps scaring the bejesus out of me, he's going to scare me sick one of these days.'
"You're leaving tomorrow, right?" Chloe asked him.
"Are you looking forward to it?" he casually placed water and medicine on Chloe's desk.
"Of course not, just checking the situation," Chloe said.
At some point, Chloe began to feel a distance from Donovan, speaking politely.
In the evening, Donovan cooked, and Chloe went to bed after eating.
But when she was about to close the door, Donovan came in, too.
They looked at each other, and Chloe didn't say anything.
"Can we skip the sex tonight?" she pleaded, lifting her gaze to him.
He said, "Sure."
When it was time to hit the hay, Chloe, being pregnant, was feeling all sorts of uncomfortable, always flipping this way and that.
"Stay still!" Donovan, wrapping Chloe in his arms, ordered her.
Chloe got all tense, thinking, 'His lust is definitely in high gear. It's him who's hell-bent on sleeping here and won't let me stir.'
Chloe was walking on eggshells, scared that any little movement she made would set off his desires.
She had a rough night.
Finally making it to the next day, the thought of Donovan moving out today made Chloe inexplicably excited.
As Donovan put on his shirt, he glanced at Chloe.
Chloe quickly suppressed her joyful expression.
After ten o'clock, Maya came back.
Maya's home was in the Maple Valley suburbs, and she brought many things for Chloe. After putting them down, she started cooking for Chloe.
Donovan informed Maya that he was leaving.
Chloe didn't say a word of courtesy, busy eating.
She was afraid that if she was polite, Donovan might stay.
He would take such words seriously.
Donovan closed the door and went downstairs. As soon as he got in the car, he called David to check on two things. Additionally, he arranged for Rebecca to come to Serenity Springs Estates in the afternoon to give Chloe private training.
Chloe's heart finally relaxed completely, feeling less tense.
"Maya, how about your holidays? Your son is taking SAT soon, right? How's his preparation going?" Chloe felt more at ease when chatting with Maya.
"He studies diligently. Wherever he gets accepted, I'm happy. I won't stop him from going wherever he wants," Maya said sincerely about her son.
'All parents exhibit this kind of attitude towards their own children. After all, I am not Donovan's child, so when my offer came, Donovan deleted it for me'
Thinking about it, she felt quite cold.
'If it were Amelia, she would definitely be very happy,' Chloe thought.
In the afternoon, Susan brought Ms. Rebecca over. Before coming, Rebecca added Chloe on WhatsApp.
Ms. Rebecca, in her forties, was kind and gentle, with a slender figure and a soft voice. Knowing it was Chloe's first training session, she specially brought yoga clothes and a yoga mat for her.
"Thank you, Ms. Rebecca. You are so considerate." Chloe said, "How did you know my size for these yoga clothes?"
Ms. Rebecca smiled, "I didn't know. Mr. Blake told me your size, so I bought them for you."
Chloe was slightly stunned, feeling a ripple in her heart involuntarily.
"By the way, our yoga class at New East Group has only been open for a few months. Since I joined, I've never seen Mr. Blake smile; only yesterday, when he mentioned you, he smiled a bit," Rebecca reached out, measuring how small the smile was.
Chloe thought, 'he doesn't even know the child is his, yet he can still smile?'
Rebecca began to guide Chloe in training. Chloe, being young, although initially not adapting well, learned quickly.
Before leaving, Ms. Rebecca and Chloe agreed that she would come every day at two in the afternoon for an hour of training.
New East Group starts work at ten, so even after starting work, she would still come at this time.
Chloe had a moment of doubt in her mind, 'If he only started work on the 10th, then what has Donovan been doing these past few days?'
Since Donovan moved out, Chloe suddenly found that her mood had improved, and this year, she didn't have to work or get up early.
In the morning, someone made breakfast for her, washed the dishes, and gave her yoga classes.
Life had never been so leisurely.
She suddenly felt that living alone was surprisingly comfortable.
