Chapter 175 Dare Not?
"This is the money you gave me before, and I still owe you nine hundred and thirty thousand," Chloe said.
Donovan casually set the card aside, "What do you mean? Want to terminate the agreement?"
"No, my grandfather is sick and can't terminate it either. My mom knows about our agreement to get married and asked me to give the money back to you. She said that emotions are precious and cannot be measured by money. I don't want the remaining money." Chloe sat at the head of the bed, hugging her knees. "Before? Which 'before'?" Donovan took a puff of his cigarette and leaned against the head of the bed. He was shirtless, turned his head to look at Chloe, and the two of them were talking at the head of the bed.

Chloe thought to herself, ‘If you don't like someone, why say it out loud and hurt their feelings?’
"Do you like Paisley? I know."
"It's not her." Donovan said, his cigarette almost finished, "I had a corneal transplant before, you know? Before the transplant, there was a girl who would wait for me every time I went to fetch water. I can't forget the sandalwood scent on her." Donovan stared at Chloe.
Chloe thought to herself, ‘Isn't that me? Could his unforgettable ex-lover be her?’
Chloe turned her head to look at him, staring into his eyes, trying to see if he was lying. Her heart was beating violently. His appearance became more and more fascinating. Sharp features, deep eyes, and a rolling Adam's apple. Chloe even had the thought of kissing him. But she only leaned her face forward slightly, not daring to take the next step. Just as she was about to pull back her face, Donovan grabbed her by the neck.
"Dare not?" he asked Chloe, "What are you afraid of with your man? Kiss."
Chloe licked her lips, blushing and heart racing. Chloe's breathing quickened. Ultimately, her lips took the initiative to kiss Donovan's lips. That night, Chloe and Donovan made love wildly. The misunderstanding from the incident with Brayden had been cleared up. The next day, Chloe had breakfast. She deliberately took an egg just to see if Donovan would help her eat the yolk. At noon, Chloe went to eat with Sofia. Just as they reached the entrance of the hall, they saw Barbara coming in from outside the company. Chloe was startled and instinctively turned around. "Barbara is here. I'm afraid she will gossip in front of you." Chloe said.
"Gossip about what?" Donovan asked.
Barbara saw Donovan and Chloe, glanced at them, and walked past. As if she didn't care about them at all. Barbara had just returned from Sunshine Bay City. When she went to Jacob's house, she caught Jacob and Karen making love in the living room when she opened the door. Karen was furious at the time. She told Barbara to get out of the house, and they ended up in a physical altercation. Karen threw all of Barbara's things out, making a spectacle for the entire neighborhood to see! Throughout the whole ordeal, Jacob remained silent. In such a situation, would Barbara have the mood to cause trouble for Chloe?
"I'll go eat first," Chloe said and then left with Sofia. However, before Chloe could say anything, Brayden came to find Donovan. It was in the afternoon, in Donovan's office. He placed a one million check in front of Donovan.
