Chapter 343 Was the Name Given by Mr. Blake?

Chloe loved baby girls, but her baby girl didn't make it.

"Chloe, don't cry. It's bad for your eyes. Look on the bright side, you have a son now. You and Mr. Blake's son," Jane said, patting Chloe's shoulder.

"Okay," Chloe replied, sitting on the bed, hugging her knees, and nodding slightly at Jane.

But the tears kept falling.

Even though Jane was used to life and death, seeing her old classmate Chloe like this broke her heart.

Jane still had rounds to do, so she asked Donovan to take good care of Chloe.

Chloe didn't blame Donovan. He was the child's father, and it was hard for him to accept this, too. He was even more afraid of her being heartbroken.

"Don't cry, we can always have another one in the future," Donovan said, hugging her.

What really made Chloe cry was what Jane had told her. The baby boy had taken the nutrients from his sister, causing her to be undernourished. Chloe hadn't even seen the boy yet and already didn't like him much. Although it wasn't his fault, the fact remained that his sister didn't make it.

People always said brothers and sisters loved each other, but he seemed more concerned about not getting enough to eat.

Even though it wasn't the baby boy's fault, Chloe still blamed him for his sister's death.

Having a baby boy wasn't enough to make up for the loss of the girl. Since Chloe hadn't seen the baby boy yet, she didn't have any emotional attachment to him, so she didn't want to see him.

She was afraid that seeing the boy would remind her of his sister's death.

But the day for Francis to come out of the incubator finally arrived.

That day, Maya brought Francis over.

The initially wrinkled baby had now become adorably cute.

Donovan really liked their son, Francis.

Chloe just took one look. Francis didn't need her to breastfeed him. It was as if he wasn't her child.

"Mrs. Blake, this is your son. Don't you like him?" Maya asked Chloe.

"I do like him," Chloe replied, afraid that if she said she didn't, Maya would call her "heartless."

But she wasn't that attached to the child.

She didn't like him from the start, and it was hard to start liking him later.

Brayden and Ann came to see Chloe.

Seeing Brayden, Donovan watched coldly.

Anyone with a bit of emotional intelligence wouldn't mention the deceased child in front of Chloe. They only praised Francis.

"This little boy is very handsome. Has he been named?" Ann asked, trying to ease the awkwardness.

"Francis?" Chloe looked at Donovan for confirmation.

"Yes, Francis Blake," Donovan added "Blake".

"That's a grand name. Did Mr. Blake come up with it?" Ann subtly praised Donovan.

"Yes, he did. Originally..." Chloe wanted to say she preferred the name "Rebecca," but thinking of the deceased child, she felt sad again and didn't continue.

Having experienced the loss of so many loved ones, Chloe was no longer the girl who had just left school.

Brayden noticed Chloe's sudden dim expression and asked, "What's wrong, Chloe?"

"Oh, nothing," Chloe forced a smile, but there was gloom in that smile.

"Chloe, you need to get better," Brayden said, sensing her unhappiness.

"Okay," Chloe replied.

Before leaving, Brayden and Ann left gifts for Chloe.

People from the New East Group didn't come. Originally, Charles wanted to see the newborn and Chloe, but Donovan said, "Skip the fuss and don't bother going."

It felt like a funeral, with no joy of having a baby at all.

This time, Charles didn't tease Donovan. He just gave Donovan a gift.

Other executives followed Charles' lead and prepared gifts for Donovan.

The top leader's family had a baby. This was a big deal!
