Chapter 214 Distance from Heaven to Hell
“How much were you paid? Why are you setting me up like this?" Gordon pushed Amelia against the window.
"Calm down, Gordon, calm down."
Gordon's mind suddenly became confused, murmured, "My son married your daughter!"
"He did marry my daughter," Amelia said.
" How could he allow a wolf into our home? Do you take pleasure in destroying our Blake family?"
He was getting closer and closer to Amelia.
Amelia could only lean against the window, its glass long shattered from years of neglect. Suddenly, she had a realization and promptly exclaimed, "No, my daughter isn't Karen; it's Chloe.”
"Chloe!" Gordon's mind became confused again. "Who is she? Who is she? Tell me, who is Chloe!"
He suddenly opened his mouth and roared at Amelia.
Amelia shrank back in fear.
Gordon grabbed Amelia's collar, roaring, "It's you, it's you, it's you!"
Gordon was infuriated to the extreme by himself!
This afternoon, Gordon went to the university for a trial lecture, and on his way back, he happened to meet Karen.
Karen whispered to him, "This afternoon, my mom is going to our old house. Back then..."
She leaned in closer to Gordon's ear and continued, "Back then, she killed Brian in that house. She probably wanted to see what had become of the Blue Ocean Estate Group that you built from scratch, now so deserted with few residents. She's not Amelia. She's actually Sarah."
Karen then sneered. She couldn't tolerate Amelia.
Not only was she petty, but she also turned a blind eye to Jacob's actions, always pointing the finger at Karen for influencing Jacob to seek money from Donovan.
It was said that the ideal situation for a woman to marry a man is for him to be wealthy and without parents.
Now that Jacob's father has passed away, leaving only his mother, Karen thought maliciously, "Let's see how things turn out for Amelia this afternoon!’
"What are you doing here!" Donovan's voice suddenly came from behind. "Let her go!"
Gordon spun around, muttering, "I won't give up! She destroyed me, causing me to lose everything and turning the whole neighborhood into a nightmare. I will never let go, never!" With determination, Gordon raised his hand, causing Amelia to lose her balance and fall out of the window.
Donovan furrowed his brow and walked over to the window to peer down. All he could witness was Amelia plummeting straight down. They were on the 18th floor, and the chances of survival from such a height were virtually nonexistent.
"You did this!" Donovan gritted his teeth, accusing Gordon.
"I killed someone! I killed someone! Is Sarah dead?" Gordon suddenly became scared. "What do I do!"
"You leave! I'll handle this!" Donovan suppressed his anger and growled at Gordon.
Gordon was still the same as before. When something happened, he wanted to run away.
"Go! Leave this place! Don't let anyone see you."
Chloe arrived by taxi just as a loud thud echoed nearby.
Stepping out of the car, she was startled to see Amelia on the ground, blood trickling from her mouth.
Shocked and disoriented, Chloe stood frozen, her mind racing.
She then glanced up towards the eighteenth floor, recalling that Karen lived there as Amelia had mentioned before.
There weren't many residents in this community, and she could see a person standing there at a glance.
Without the barrier of the glass, the figure standing there was unmistakably clear. Despite the blurry vision, she could tell—it was Donovan. "Donovan, it's Donovan," she whispered.
He stood before her, yet Chloe appeared not to recognize him. She gazed in disbelief, feeling a surge of nausea that she struggled to suppress.
In that moment, the chasm between Chloe and Donovan felt as vast as the divide between heaven and hell.
'He was in heaven, and he pushed Amelia into hell. Why did he do this? Why!'
Chloe's chest heaved violently, her lips moving up and down as she attempted to call out "Mom" but the word remained stuck in her throat. Suddenly, the world seemed to spin, and she collapsed unconscious.
