Chapter 336 An Icon Back Then
"Chloe, I'm here. You don't need to get out of the car, just head home," Victoria said.
"Oh, no need. I still have to go back to the office. I'll go with you." Chloe thought that Barbara's matter still needed to be discussed with Donovan.
"Alright then. Wait for me a moment, I'll grab my things and be right back." With that, Victoria got out of the car.
Chloe felt a bit bored in the car and looked out the window.
This was the entrance of the hotel, with vehicles coming and going.
A white Alfa car stopped at the hotel entrance, and a woman stepped out, gracefully making her way toward the entrance.
The moment the woman got out of the car, she caught Chloe's attention.
Presumably, many people's eyes would be drawn to this woman.
Her beautiful face, exceptional demeanor, and posture, confident and intelligent gaze, graceful and noble walk, and green dress made her the center of attention.
"Her presence is really something," Chloe sincerely admired.
"An actress, naturally she has great presence," Susan said.
"An actress? Who?" Chloe was puzzled.
"Pamela, don't you know her? Oh, right, you probably don't. She was an icon of our generation. When I was in fifth grade, I used to skip school to go to the movies. The films she starred in left a deep impression on me, like 'Green Water,' 'Sail,' and in 'Pink Memories,' she had her first on-screen kiss. Our class girls used to gossip about whether she was dating some actor. Ah, memories. I want to get her autograph," Susan said more than she had ever before in front of Chloe.
"Go, go," Chloe remembered Logan had mentioned that Pamela usually lived abroad. Her sudden return was quite rare. "It's a rare opportunity."
Encouraged by Chloe, Susan hurriedly found some paper and a pen in the car and ran to get Pamela's autograph.
By the time Victoria got back in the car, Susan hadn't returned yet.
"Where's Susan?" Victoria asked.
Chloe smiled and replied, "She saw her icon and went to ask for an autograph."
"Susan's in her thirties, and she still likes celebrities?" Victoria said.
"It's nostalgia," Chloe observed the situation outside.
Susan was chatting with Pamela with a smile. Although Pamela was polite, she seemed a bit aloof.
After signing the autograph, Susan returned.
Pamela looked in Susan's direction and saw Chloe sitting in the car.
Her gaze paused for a moment, then she slightly frowned before turning and entering the hotel.
Chloe thought, 'What was she looking at? The car? Something in the distance?'
She would never have guessed that Pamela was actually looking at her.
After a while, Susan came back running.
"Did she sign it?" Chloe asked Susan.
"Yeah, I didn't expect such a big star to be so humble," Susan started the car and said as they drove off. She reminisced about how much she liked Pamela back then, still having old songbooks with Pamela's posters and stickers at home. "Back then, a dozen girls in our class wanted to be like her. I'll find my old songbooks for you sometime."
"Sure," Chloe replied with a smile.
She suddenly remembered she hadn't replied to Betty's WhatsApp.
Actually, she didn't really want to help Barbara, considering Barbara didn't help when Walter died and even did terrible things.
However, not replying to WhatsApp would be impolite.
In the end, Chloe replied to Betty: [I'll try to persuade.]
