Chapter 114: Stand-In
Soon, it was the weekend.
Chloe went to buy groceries, preparing to welcome Paisley. She knew it was going to be a tough battle.
When Paisley arrived, Chloe was wearing an apron and cooking with Maya Hall in the kitchen.

Chloe knew Donovan was putting on an act in front of Paisley, making their. He was trying to make his unforgettable ex-lover envy him.
Chloe didn't know the exact details of the conflict between them, but Donovan always intentionally showed her affection in front of Paisley.

Donovan took the wine glass and Chloe poured him a glass of red wine.

In truth, Grandpa rarely said thisso much.

After Grandpa and Chloe finished their conversation, Paisley couldn't hide her smile.

Grandpa went back to his room to take a nap.
While Chloe was helping clean up the dishes, she walked over to Paisley and noticed something strange. She wondered, "Why does Paisley smell like sandalwood soap? Does she use it too?"
Perhaps the fragrance of the food had masked the scent on her earlier, and so Chloe only noticed it now.
She took the bowls and walked towards the kitchen.
Only Donovan and Paisley remained in the living room.
Some of Paisley's words drifted into Chloe's ears as she washed the dishes in the kitchen.
"Donovan, a few days agoY, you said you wanted to smell thise scent on me after I took a shower a few days ago, Donovan. You said it used to be my scent. Today, I specifically used Roy Ssandalwood Ssoap today. Doid you smell it?" Paisley said.
"Really?" Donovan replied., "It seems like it."
Paisley smiled.
Upon hearing these words, Chloe felt her world shatter when she heard that.
She quickly walked to the kitchen door, wanting to close it and block out their conversation, but their words still reached her ears...
"Really?" Donovan responded casually.

Chloe's hands gripped the edge of the sink, and her mind went blank.
