Cynthia knew Chloe was talking about Derek.

Just then, Cynthia arrived.
Seeing Donovan at home, she was in a good mood.
Francis looked at his dad with a puzzled expression, "Or did you mess around with other women and make Mom leave?"
"Don't talk nonsense!" Donovan scolded Francis.
Francis didn't say anything and went to the backyard to play with Maya.
Cynthia sat down next to Donovan.
"What brings you here?" Donovan asked Cynthia.
"I went to see Chloe. My student mentioned that she's pregnant. So I thought I’d stop by and bring her a few things while I was planning to visit you this week," Cynthia said gently. "Chloe is having a tough time with this pregnancy; I heard she's always throwing up."
Donovan frowned slightly.
"She said the baby is nearly two months along, so the reaction is normal. It should start to ease up soon," Cynthia continued.
Since Chloe herself didn't know whose child it was, Cynthia had to mislead Donovan.
"Two months?" Donovan was puzzled. It wasn't the one month he had thought?
"Yes, Chloe told me."
Donovan sat on the couch, stroking his chin in thought.
Chole was clearly pregnant but didn't tell him directly, instead being so secretive.
Now Cynthia was telling him the baby was two months along. So, was this child Donovan's?

Donovan casually picked up a cigarette from the side, lit it, and started smoking, causing Cynthia next to him to cough. But Donovan seemed completely unaware.
