Chapter 457 Shameless Bitch
Jacob took a long time to reply.
Jacob: [Who is this? Chloe? Where have you been?]
Chloe: [Are you going tomorrow or not?]
Jacob: [Sure, if you want me to go, I'm in. Where's the meetup?]
Chloe: [I'm staying at Sofia's place now. Let's meet at the corner near her house.]
Jacob: [What about the big house Donovan gave you?]
Chloe: [The house is his. I got nothing after the divorce.]
Chloe didn't dare tell the truth, only saying she had no money, without mentioning the assets Donovan had given her.
Jacob: [Are you stupid? You gave him your child for nothing?]
After finding out that Chloe had nothing, Jacob felt hopeless. It seemed he wouldn't get anything from Chloe this time either.
After sending the message to Jacob, Chloe started browsing Facebook on her old phone.
She found that Donovan's Facebook had nothing on it. She wanted to check on Francis, but when she clicked on his profile, she realized he had blocked her.
Three years ago, she had ignored his advice and went to Verdania, then to Emerald Isle, and never came back. He had plenty of reasons to block her.
Chloe gathered her courage and sent a WhatsApp message by using her old phone to Donovan: [Can you unblock me on Facebook?]
He didn't reply.
Chole thought, 'He is the CEO of New East Group International. Why will he casually allow others to see his Facebook?'
Then, Chloe used her new phone to send friend request, with the verification message simply saying: [Chloe.]
But again, no reply.
She really wanted to see Francis.
Lying with her hands behind her head, Chloe thought, 'If I don't contact him and just look at his Facebook, there will be no chat. Pamela shouldn't find out. During the years in Emerald Isle, I hadn't contacted him, and nothing special had happened..'
Chloe knew Donovan was formidable, but she also knew that someone like Pamela would never get her own hands dirty. She would get someone insignificant to do something very cruel, without implicating herself. She was capable of anything. After what happened with Francis last time, Chloe was very scared.
The next morning, Chloe checked her phone and found that Donovan still hadn't accepted her friend request.
Chloe was disappointed. She grabbed her luggage and the toy car Sofia had bought for Francis. After saying goodbye to Sofia, she met Jacob at the street corner.
"Chloe, long time no see. You look prettier. Everyone else is aging, how come you're still as young as three years ago?" Jacob asked while driving.
When the car reached the back of a hospital, Jacob suddenly spat.
Chloe frowned slightly and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Bitch!" Jacob cursed, full of resentment.
"Who?" Chloe looked outside carefully but saw no one.
"Janet! That bitch! Every time I tried to approach her, she’d engage with me, but then she got pregnant with Donovan’s child and became arrogant, ignoring everyone. She was Donovan’s mistress, and everyone in Maple Valley knew I was nothing compared to him. He ruined me back then, and now I'm even worse off," Jacob said with a self-deprecating smile.
Upon hearing "pregnant with Donovan's child," Chloe's heart tightened, and her fists clenched.
Everyone said so, even Janet was afraid Chloe would see her child.
So, how could it be false?
"She probably wants to wait for Donovan to marry her? Shameless bitch, how can she compare to you?" Jacob said.
Comparing Janet to Chloe, Jacob realized Chloe was indeed superior.. Perhaps after three years, he felt a bit of familial affection.
"Is Donovan really the father of Janet's child?" Chloe asked.
"Any doubts?" Jacob replied, bitterness in his tone. "There was a time when I went to see her, but she refused to see me.Later, she came out with a child. How could I raise someone else's child? I gave up on her."
