Chapter 451 Come Tomorrow
On the other end of the line, Isabel said, "Ms. Baker, are you talking to someone? If you're busy, I'll hang up first."
Then, the sound of the phone being hung up came through.
Chloe stood at the car door for a while, not knowing what to do. Just then, Cynthia came out.
She said to Chloe, "Let's go."
Chloe nodded and got into Cynthia's car.
On their way back, the car was unusually quiet.
Cynthia was thinking about the shock from her conversation with Donovan and the masculine aura he exuded. She felt like a single woman for the first time in so many years, receiving comfort from the most powerful man. Originally, she was calm, but Donovan was like a long-awaited stone that caused ripples in her life.
She also knew that Donovan liked Chloe. She could tell when he ordered food for Chloe during dinner.
So, as long as Chloe was at Pearl Peak City University, Donovan would come whenever something happened.
Chloe, leaning against the car window, thought, 'I need to invite Maya over to stop Jeffery from doing anything foolish. Although I find campus love very romantic, the more romance there is, the less reality there would be.'
She had long since lost her yearning for campus romance.
"Chloe, thank you," Cynthia said to Chloe as they were about to reach the school.
"What are you thanking me for?" Chloe asked, puzzled.
Cynthia just mysteriously curled her lips.
When Chloe got home, she received a WhatsApp message from Jeffery: [Whimsy Day is coming up soon. Do you want to go hiking together?]
In Jeffery's eyes, Chloe had already half-agreed to date him. After all, she had followed him to have dinner with Donovan that day. The reason it was only "half" was probably because of the teacher-student relationship and the age difference; she was a bit shy.
Chloe: [Jeffery, I mind the age difference between us. How about this? You bring your parents over and we'll talk to them first. If they agree, I'll go out with you on Whimsy Day.]
Jeffery: [Are you serious?]
Chloe: [Yes, I am.]
Jeffery was very happy. Although Chloe's condition was a bit difficult, he was worried that if Maya didn't agree, Chloe wouldn't date him.

Jeffery sent a WhatsApp message to Maya: [Mom, I recently led our school basketball team to win the championship. Why don't you come and see me?]
Maya had always been concerned about Jeffery. She wondered, 'Jeffery's asking me togo to his school?'
Over at the Blake family's hillside villa, Maya didn't have much to do as Donovan and Francis were not around, but she still had to ask Donovan for leave.
Maya: [Mr. Blake, Jeffery wants me to go visit him. Can I take a few days off? And since Francis is in Pearl Peak City, I can take care of Francis there, so you can focus on your work. What do you think?]
Donovan replied quite quickly: [Come over tomorrow.]
