Chapter 626 You Slept with Him

"Don't worry, she wouldn't..." Jane deliberately paused, staring intently at Jeffery's face. Sure enough, Jeffery's expression softened a bit. Jane continued, "She wouldn't be unaware, would she? This is a major life event for you. I need to discuss it with her; we're good friends. Also, I know about the officer's daughter chasing you. You'd better clear things up with her soon. I'm very upset!"

Jane spoke to Jeffery in a tone that resembled that of a "legitimate wife."

Jeffery immediately looked at her, "Are you out of your mind?"

Jane didn't take Jeffery's words to heart and continued to gloat.

Jeffery got up to get dressed. His golden V-shaped torso made Jane infatuated.

She stretched out her foot and gently nudged Jeffery, "Did you hear me?"

Jeffery was already very angry. He had a good impression of Jane initially, but who would have thought she wasn't the stoic person wearing a big mask, but someone with no boundaries. Since she could do it, Jeffery naturally could too.

"What do you want?" Jeffery asked rudely.

"Such a temper. Didn't you just vent? Do you need to vent more?" Jane looked at Jeffery with seductive yet shrewd eyes.

Jeffery ignored her, grabbed his clothes, and walked out.

He didn't even take the hoodie Jane bought for him. To him, that hoodie was a mark of shame, a symbol of his lost dignity!

Jane lay there for a while longer, muttering with a smile, "So ruthless."

She took another nap before getting up, ordered dinner from the hotel, and after washing up and getting into bed, she lifted the covers and saw red bloodstains on the sheets. She was momentarily stunned, then took a photo of the bloodstains with her phone and sent it to Jeffery.

[What should I do?]

At that moment, Jeffery had just returned from training. After washing up in the bathroom, he saw Jane's message and got angry on the spot.

He placed the basin under the bed, fuming silently.

"What's up with Jeffery?" his roommates teased him. "Heartbroken? The officer's daughter is chasing you so fervently, and you're still not happy?"

"He's troubled about whom to choose, while we're troubled about being single. Do you guys remember the one who bought him stuff last time?"

The roommates understood.

Then they all started joking about Jeffery. Jeffery lay on his bed, pulled the covers over his head, and said nothing.

But even with his eyes closed, he could still see that bloodstain, glaringly vivid.

The next day, Jane returned to Maple Valley. She was on vacation for a few days to take care of her skin. Working night shifts all the time had taken a toll on her skin. Sure enough, after yesterday, her skin was radiant and tender.

She arranged to have lunch with Chloe.

Chloe had been in a good mood lately. At least Donovan wasn't so concerned about the Rebecca Residential Community issue anymore. He hadn't mentioned it again. If it weren't for Timothy, it probably wouldn't have been an issue for him at all. Since he wasn't concerned, Chloe naturally felt relieved.

So when Jane called Chloe, Chloe came out.

The two went out for Mexican food. This time, Jane specifically didn't invite Sofia because this matter was related to Jane's personal affairs.

Besides, Sofia was married with two kids and probably couldn't understand the mindset of someone in love.

"What? You slept with him?" Chloe exclaimed in the Mexican restaurant.

"Can you keep your voice down?" Jane said.
