Five thousand dollars is a significant amount for the current Chloe.
Outsiders cannot casually enter the audit department, where Chloe met the people from the "HS Suit Store" at the front desk.
Chloe wanted to ask if it was okay to pay together next month.
The person smiled and said, "Miss Chloe, we also work here and must balance our accounts monthly."
"But I forgot to bring my phone," Chloe said.
"It's okay. I'll wait downstairs for you to go up and get it."
Chloe was speechless.

Chloe was embarrassed to borrow from Sofia. She knew Sofia lived paycheck to paycheck, earned little compared to what she spent, and had to rely on her mom every month. Chloe thought to herself, ‘How should I repay Charles’s money?’

It seemed she could only turn to Donovan for help.
When it was time to leave work in the afternoon, Charles went to Donovan's office.
"Pay up, your wife borrowed money from me," Charles said to Donovan.
"What money?"
"The money for the tailored shirts for you, five thousand dollars. Chloe borrowed money, so it's your responsibility to repay. I'm a bit tight on cash lately, so hurry up and double it," Charles said, extending his hand.
Donovan pondered for a moment, "Ask her for it."
"What kind of husband are you?"
Charles was just teasing Donovan; five thousand dollars was nothing to him, and he wouldn't ask Chloe for it.
But for Chloe, owing money to the finance director was quite stressful.
After much thought, she could only borrow money from Donovan.
"Can you lend me some money?" Chloe messaged Donovan on WhatsApp.
"How much?"
"Five thousand."
Donovan didn't say anything else; he directly transferred five thousand dollars to Chloe.
Chloe immediately transferred it to Charles.
Chloe thought to herself, ‘After repaying Charles's money, I'll manage until payday.’
However, when leaving work, Donovan asked Chloe, "Did you buy the underwear for me last time?"
Chloe's mouth formed an "O" shape immediately. Barbara's call must have covered the payment page from last time, and then she went to her grandmother's house, forgetting about it later.
"I... I haven't," Chloe felt extremely embarrassed.
"Are you playing with me?" Donovan said casually as he drove.

"A few days?" Donovan persisted.
Chloe thought to herself, ‘She was the one in debt!’
"Can we wait until I get paid, okay?" she asked Donovan cautiously.
