Chapter 640 In Love?
When Charles rolled up to the Blake Mansion, Chloe was chilling on the couch, chatting with Donovan.
Ever since Pamela got locked up, Chloe had been obsessed with tracking down her dad, Fred. She had mixed feelings about him—part of her wanted to see him, but she also had a lot of anger because of the drama between Fred and Pamela. Problem was, she had no clue where to start looking for him.
Charles walked in.
"Charlotte sent this drone for Francis," he said, glancing around but not spotting Francis anywhere.
"Francis and Maya went out," Donovan replied.
He took the drone from Charles and checked it out from every angle.
"Not bad, the quality is top-notch, and the tech is impressive. It uses the latest flight system and is super safe. Charlotte really knows her stuff," Donovan said, giving props to Charlotte.
Chloe took a look too. She couldn't see all the techy stuff Donovan mentioned, but she could tell it was high quality. "Looks like Charlotte put a lot of effort into this," she said.
"I noticed Charlotte's company mostly makes commercial drones for adults. This one must be custom-made," Charles added casually.
Donovan shot Charles a cold look. "Already defending her, huh? You got a thing for her?"
Charles flinched. "No!"
Donovan suddenly remembered something. "Did she ask you to give this drone to me?"
"Yeah."
Donovan grinned knowingly. "She probably wants me to talk her up in front of Maya."
"I know, but I'm playing dumb," Charles replied.
Donovan laughed again. "Good luck explaining that to her."
Chloe hoped Charles would win over Charlotte, so Jane would have one less rival. Otherwise, Jane might struggle against such a strong competitor.
"Charles, you really need to win Charlotte over. She's gorgeous," Chloe sighed.
"I'll do my best! But if she finds out I used a strategy to win her over, I wonder what she'll think?" Charles worried.
"Doesn't matter. You can actually date her if you want, but you need to meet your future father-in-law first! Rebecca Residential Community can't wait. There are other ways, but relying on others is never a good idea. Since you like her, we'll just wait for your results," Donovan said slowly.
"Who said I like her?" Charles shot back.
"Alright, stop pretending!" Donovan said.
Francis and Maya came back and took the drone from Donovan.
Francis's eyes lit up. "Is this for me?" he asked Donovan.
"Yep, it's for you. What do you think?" Donovan asked.
Francis fiddled with the drone and the controller while talking to Donovan. "Did Ms. Rose give this to me? Where is she?"
Donovan glanced at Maya, who was still standing at the door. "She didn't come. She asked Charles to bring it to you."
Francis didn't care much about the adults' business and just said, "Okay."
Maya thought: The advice I gave to Jeffery was spot on. Now Charlotte is having Charles bring stuff over.
Charles also glanced at Maya.
Chloe gave Donovan a meaningful look for a moment and then turned away.
On his way home, Charles got a message from Charlotte: [Did you give the drone to Francis?]
