Chloe was adopted. Although she has no blood relation to Barbara, Barbara and Jacob are cousins.
"Chloe, the Bradley Marigoldia estate is worth several billion dollars. I already got the key from Pamela. You just need to tell me the password, and we can withdraw the money. What do you think? Barbara waved the key in front of Chloe.

Chloe thought: Bradley clearly said the key was with Fred, so how did it end up with Pamela?
Could Pamela have had some dealings with Fred later on?
She didn't understand!
Jacob was getting anxious. "Chloe, with so much money, can't you spare a little for me?"
Chloe thought: Pamela is so ruthless and calculating; how could she casually give the key to Barbara?
Given that, Chloe said, "Money isn't the most useful thing. I don't value it much, and I'm not interested in money I didn't earn myself. Besides, I just transferred to Pearl Peak University, and I'm very busy. I don't have time to go to the bank. Since Jacob is so eager to go, I'll write an authorization letter, and you can go. "Chloe, what are you up to?" Jacob asked.

Jacob was stunned, thinking: My sister Chloe has suddenly become someone who talks about money in such large amounts. How can there be such a big difference between people?

"Then I'll go myself," Chloe said.
Jacob didn't say anything.

Barbara booked tickets for the next day, and the two of them prepared to go to Marigoldia.
She thought: I've already got Chloe's password. This time, Barbara planned to get the real key from Pamela.
They all left, and Chloe finally had some peace.
She kept wondering: Why does Pamela have Fred's key?
That evening, Donovan came home.
After dinner, as Donovan was going upstairs, Chloe's phone rang.
It was Derek.
Chloe wondered whether to answer or not, but in the end, she did.
"Hello," Chloe answered.
"Chloe, my dad said someone made an appointment with Marigoldia Bank to withdraw money. Was it you?" Derek asked.
"It should be Jacob and Barbara," Chloe replied.
"You know about this?" Derek asked again.
"Yeah, I know."
Then there was a long silence on the other end.
"Chloe, I heard you're no longer at Pearl Peak University and have transferred to Pearl Peak University. Is that true? Have you reconciled with him?" Derek asked again.
"Yeah, I guess," Chloe replied awkwardly. "In this lifetime, besides Donovan, there's probably no one else."
After a long silence, Derek said, "That's good. I wish you well, Chloe."
