Chapter 444 Mr. Blake, You're Here
The car started, and they arrived at the Stellar Corp twenty minutes later.
Jeffery got out of the car, and Barbara reluctantly said goodbye to him.
"Barbara, you know who gave you all of this today. Don't ruin yourself," Betty said.
Feeling Betty's words really harsh, Barbara retorted, "What did I do to deserve such harsh words from you? Are you implying that everything I have is given by someone else and I'm useless?"
"Don't forget why Pamela sent you here. She wanted you to bring Chloe and Jeffery together, not to find a boyfriend for yourself. Besides, I don't approve of you dating Jeffery! He doesn't earn money; he simplyspends it. Does he have a house, a car or any savings?" Betty, who had been very polite to Jeffery earlier, now spoke to Barbara in a critical tone. "Don't ruin your future."
"Enough!" Barbara said irritably. "Go shopping!"
Betty stormed out of the car and went shopping.
Barbara's car was parked across from the Stellar Corp. Jeffery would have to come downstairs after his internship, right? Interns usually don't work that long, so she decided to wait all afternoon.
Jeffery went to the Stellar Corp for his internship, and when he reported to Timothy, Timothy liked the young man quite a bit as he was handsome and energetic. Timothy assigned him various miscellaneous tasks to help him become acquainted with the office environment.
"We're going to sign a contract with New East Group International in a bit. You're in charge of pouring water," Timothy said. "Can you handle that?"
"No problem," Jeffery agreed readily.
Moreover, when Jeffery heard the mention of "New East Group International," he was even happier. He realized Donovan had been in Pearl Peak City all this time, collaborating with the Stellar Corp.
Naturally, Jeffery was happy to see Donovan.
And if he could see Chloe, he would be even more delighted.
When he went to the conference room to pour water, he saw Chloe sitting there.
There were a few other people in the conference room, all looking down at their materials.
"Here you are." Jeffery stood next to Chloe with a water bottle.
She was engrossed in reading the materials, wearing glasses.
She looked incredibly beautiful with glasses on, making Jeffery feel very excited. She was very knowledgeable in class, which greatly attracted Jeffery. Her quiet presence made Jeffery feel extremely comfortable, a feeling he had never experienced before.
She hadn't noticed him yet.
"Thank you," Chloe said casually, still flipping through a page of the contract, wanting to review it one last time before signing.
"You're welcome, Ms. Baker."
Chloe looked up in surprise and saw Jeffery. She frowned slightly.
"What are you doing here?" Chloe asked Jeffery.
"Did you forget? I told you, I'm interning at the Stellar Corp."
After asking, Chloe turned her face away and stopped talking. To say that Jeffery working at the Stellar Corp had no impact on her would be a lie.
"Mr. Blake, you're here?" Jeffery said happily, looking back at Donovan who had just walked in.
Jeffery was a sincere young man. He held an honest nature and placed trust in those around him, perceiving them as fundamentally good individuals.
"Yes," Donovan replied.
He glanced at Chloe, who was sitting with her back to him, next to Jeffery.
They were always close together. That was the impression Jeffery and Chloe left on him.
