Chapter 329 Fingers Interlocked
"You make really delicious porridge," Chloe complimented Donovan with a smile, easily changing the subject.
After dinner, she purposely went to the kitchen to wash dishes with Donovan.
Maybe she thought that bringing up her ex-boyfriend earlier might have upset Donovan, so she intentionally acted more affectionately.
Donovan had his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, bending over the sink to wash the dishes.
Chloe dried the dishes he had washed.
They worked together seamlessly.
"Can you help me roll up my sleeves?" he asked Chloe.
"Oh?" Chloe, who was drying a dish, saw that his sleeves had fallen down. His hands were covered in soap suds, and he was holding them up, unable to roll up his sleeves. "Sure."
Chloe dried her hands and rolled up his sleeves.
They continued until all the dishes were washed.
Donovan wanted to tidy up the kitchen, so he told Chloe to go back to the bedroom first.
Chloe felt very tired, too. She stretched her back and lay down on the bed.
Picking up her phone, she saw a comment from Paisley on her Facebook: [Maple Valley Park, right? We went there together six years ago. I miss the little animals and the boats there.]
A layer of sadness immediately appeared on Chloe's face, upset by Paisley's comment.
She even wanted to delete the Facebook post.
"What? Am I not worthy of being on your Facebook?" Donovan entered the bedroom with his phone.
Chloe was taken aback and asked, "You mean today's Facebook post should have included you?"
"What else?"
"I was afraid of exposing your identity. How could I post your photo without your consent?" Chloe said confidently, "You're a leader, after all."
"Is there nothing to say about posting my photo?"
Chloe muttered, "There's plenty to say."
She thought, 'You have so many issues, you're possessive, and you have a bad temper. I can talk about it all day.'
"What are you muttering about?" he asked.
"Nothing."
"Shall we take the bus tomorrow?" he asked Chloe, leaning against the headboard.
Chloe was lying on her side, with her back to him. Hearing this, she turned over and asked, "Really? Have you ever taken the bus?"
"Often, when I was abroad."
"Which university did you graduate from?" Chloe suddenly remembered to ask.
"Willowbrook College."
"Wow, a top student." Although Chloe sounded enthusiastic, she felt more inferior inside.
He had a high degree, while she was just a college graduate. The gap was too big.
"I'm far from being a scholar," he said, expressionless, looking at Chloe.
"That's because you have high standards. You don't mind appearing on my Facebook?" she asked him with interest.
"I don't mind."
"If you don't mind, then let's go tomorrow." Chloe instinctively clung to his arm and asked him.
"Okay."
The next day, after eating the breakfast Donovan made, they set off. They first took the bus from the Serenity Springs Estates entrance, rode to the end of the line, transferred, and then transferred again, enjoying the scenery along the way before heading home.
While waiting for the bus at the bus stop, Chloe asked Donovan, "Do you have a bus card?"
Donovan turned to Chloe and asked, "Can't we just use cash?"
Chloe thought for a moment and replied, "We can, but it's not convenient."
"As long as it works."
When they got on the bus, Donovan put a ten-dollar bill into the fare box.
Taking the 982 bus from the first stop to the last only cost three dollars.
Donovan told the driver, "For the two of us."
"Alright, hold on to your wife," the driver said to Donovan.
It wasn't rush hour, so the bus wasn't crowded. Chloe and Donovan sat in the front row.
Chloe sat by the window, looking at the scenery outside, feeling very happy.
Since yesterday, Donovan noticed that Chloe would smile when she saw the scenery outside.
Her hand was in Donovan's, their fingers interlocked.
