Chapter 555 He Didn't Succeed
Donovan had a general understanding of Dylan's intentions.
"Mr. Blake, is Mrs. Blake here?" Dylan asked.
Every time Dylan saw Donovan, it was like a mouse seeing a cat.
"No. She took Francis to the mall." Donovan replied.
"Mrs. Blake's not here?" Dylan pondered, wondering if Donovan knew about this and if he brought it up suddenly, would Donovan find out about his past secrets?
"Are you here about you and Pamela?" Unexpectedly, Donovan asked first.
Dylan felt a bit awkward. "Yes, everyone is saying that Mrs. Blake spread it. I wanted to ask how she knew."
Donovan sneered, "Don't you know that the Pamela you're interested in and the Pamela you slept with are not the same person?"
Dylan didn't understand for a moment, looking confused. "What do you mean? What's going on?"
"The one you're interested in is the Pamela on TV, but the one you slept with is Pamela's twin sister." Donovan said.
"What?" Dylan, in his fifties, had been deceived twice in his life, both times by Pamela. The feeling of being deceived was not pleasant, and Dylan's mind went blank. "What exactly is going on? How can there be two Pamelas?"
"Pamela used her sister's fame to deceive. The TV shows were all done by Pamela's sister, and the film company was started by Pamela using her sister's connections. Pamela is very cunning." Donovan explained.
Dylan was stunned for a long time, forgetting to ask how Chloe knew about it.
Even after returning home, Dylan sat on the couch, unable to snap out of it. It wasn't until thirty years later that Dylan realized he had been a complete fool.
After Dylan left, a slight smile appeared on Donovan's face.
Donovan wanted to tell Dylan this to make him realize he had been a fool. Donovan wanted to intensify Dylan's hatred for Pamela. No matter who died in the fight between them, Donovan would be happy to see it.
Just like the war between Paisley and Janet, no matter who died, Donovan wanted to see it.
Shortly after Dylan left, the police arrived to inform Donovan about the conclusion of the case about Paisley.
Donovan had already spoken to the police, asking them to inform him once Paisley's case was resolved.
Coincidentally, Chloe had just returned with Francis. Chloe had taken Francis to the mall to buy clothes.
"Mr. Blake, the case about Paisley has been solved. It was done by someone named Ivan. The reason Ivan pulled out Paisley's oxygen tube was that when Paisley was an influencer, Ivan bought a pair of shoes from her live stream for over a thousand dollars. But when the shoes arrived, Ivan felt they weren't worth it and wanted to return them. Unfortunately, the return was not accepted, and Ivan developed a murderous intent."
Donovan was speechless.
"Isn't that reason for murder too flimsy? Didn't you find anyone else?" Chloe asked.
"No, that's all."
Chloe glanced at Donovan. She had once suspected Donovan, but now it seemed he wasn't involved.
After the police left, Donovan didn't mention Dylan's visit to Chloe.
Chloe sat on the couch. "I might have to leave today. I have classes tomorrow."
"Okay. I'm also going to Pearl Peak City tomorrow."
Chloe thought for a moment. "Alright, but we have to leave early. I'm worried there might be something important at school on Monday. I'll go to bed early tonight."
Donovan stared straight at Chloe. "What are you thinking? To put it bluntly, isn't this your duty?"
"We're divorced." Chloe retorted.
Donovan laughed out loud, not taking Chloe's words seriously.
Because Francis was in their bed tonight, Donovan didn't have the chance to make love. When he wanted to, Chloe refused, saying firmly she didn't want to wake Francis.
Donovan didn't succeed.
