Chapter 398 How is she with him?
Chloe stood at the doorway, feeling down. She knocked.
"Come in," a voice said.
Chloe entered and saw Kathy, who looked elegant and beautiful. Kathy's eyes filled with tears. "Are you Chloe?"
Chloe nodded slowly.
"Chloe, I finally found you." Kathy grabbed Chloe's arm. "Oh honey, you must have gone through so much all these years without me."
Kathy was excited, but Chloe felt nothing.
"I should never give you away. Pamela was powerful, and I feared she'd harm you, so I left you with someone at a construction site. I never meant to abandon you. I gave you a ring, and I had one, too, but Pamela took mine. It was hers originally, but it doesn't matter. I found you anyway, thanks to Pamela's constant revenge. Sadly, Amelia has passed away." Kathy looked sad. "Was she good to you?"
"Mom was very good to me," Chloe said, her eyes reddening.
"I know." Kathy gripped Chloe's shoulder. "Amelia's death was suspicious. I used my connections to get the police report. Look at this."
Kathy handed Chloe a paper. Chloe felt strange reading it, as she didn't know how Donovan explained Amelia's death to the police.
The report said Amelia went to show Jacob a house, and Gordon, confused by past events, thought Amelia was Sarah. Provoked by Karen, Gordon saw Amelia as an enemy. Amelia thought Gordon was a threat to Chloe and tried to provoke him into losing control. But her plan backfired, and she fell instead.
The report had the police station's stamp and a detective's signature. It seemed legit.
'So, this is how Donovan helped Gordon escape blame. He is so despicable!' Chloe seethed.
"Where did you get this?" Chloe asked, crying in anger.
"I have connections at the police station. They made a copy for me."
"Thanks. I need to get going." Chloe walked out.
She sat alone in a coffee shop, crying. She wondered how Donovan planned to torment her family. He defamed Amelia to protect his father. Did he think he could just frame the dead?
She had forgiven him before, but now, how could she stay with him?
As for Francis, just let him be Chloe's parting gift to Donovan!
