Chapter 67 Why didn't you discuss it with me?
Donovan sat alone in his office, carefully pondering this matter.
Last night, she didn't let him touch her. And even before that, she confidently told his brother that she didn't want a child, she wanted to become a certified accountant and make lots of money.
She said it was a lie to his brother. But now, it seemed like it wasn't a lie at all!
She did indeed abort his child without his knowledge.
Chloe!!
He dialed Chloe's extension in the company.
"Come to my office right now!" His voice was so cold it could freeze someone to death.
Chloe was exhausted and was currently calculating a bill, unable to be distracted. So she hesitated for a moment and said, "Can I come later?"
"Now."
Helpless, Chloe had to put down her work and go to his office.
As soon as she entered the room, his burning anger overwhelmed her. "Did you abort the baby?" he said, his eyes like daggers fixed on Chloe.
Chloe frowned slightly, thinking to herself: she didn't actually get pregnant, didn't she already tell him that? "I didn't get pregnant, it was a lie to my brother that day," Chloe said. But then she suddenly noticed the lunch box on Donovan's desk, a stainless steel round container. She wondered, who had been here? Could it be Paisley again? Paisley initially approached her, wanting her to get rid of the baby. Now, she came to Donovan and told him that Chloe had indeed gotten an abortion? Paisley was a cunning person, both in appearance and reality. Chloe was no match for her. She knew that no matter what Paisley said, Donovan would believe it. Because Paisley was his unforgettable ex-lover, his first love! Chloe smirked coldly, "It doesn't matter what I say. Since you've made up your mind that I got an abortion, then I did. I'm leaving!" "Wait!" Donovan suppressed his anger. He got up from his seat and walked step by step toward Chloe until he cornered her against the door, with no way to retreat. Chloe frowned and looked at Donovan, terrified. "Why get an abortion?" His crimson eyes stared at Chloe, just ten centimeters away from her. Indeed, Paisley could trigger every emotion in him. At least, Chloe had never seen this side of Donovan before. "We were going to get divorced sooner or later. Why not get an abortion?" Chloe raised her gaze, showing both stubbornness and determination. "Why didn't you discuss it with me?" "I didn't even tell you I was pregnant in the first place. Naturally, I wanted to deceive you. In that case, why should I discuss getting an abortion with you? How much money are you giving?" Chloe asked him, with a playful and heartless appearance. "How much money do you want?" Donovan stared at Chloe tightly, enunciating each word. "Fifty million." "When it comes to money, it's best to get it done. Fine!" Donovan seemed extremely angry, having lost his temper. Chloe suddenly smiled, "It's too late now, what's the point of saying all this? The baby is gone." "Go sleep in your dormitory tonight!" Donovan roared lowly. "I don't want to see you!" "Okay." Chloe agreed easily. Donovan turned around, and Chloe opened the door and walked out. As she walked, she thought to herself: she had already told him a long time ago that she didn't get pregnant. But he didn't believe her. Just one word from Paisley, and he became so furious. What kind of person was he? It was convenient to go back to the dormitory and stay away from his atrocities. Chloe walked quickly in the hallway. Everyone who saw her whispered to themselves: maybe she had a falling out with Mr. Blake because she secretly got an abortion.
Just now, James saw Chloe go into Mr. Blake's office and felt uneasy. After Chloe had a miscarriage, he didn't give her time off, afraid that Mr. Blake would be angry and unsettled.
Now, he was heading to Donovan's office.
On the way, Chloe saw him and only greeted him with a nod and a quick "director." It was clear that Chloe and Mr. Blake were having a disagreement. James shivered all over.
He knocked on Donovan's office door.
Donovan happened to be smoking a cigarette, leaning in his chair with annoyance, so James didn't dare to talk.
"What's the matter, speak up," Donovan impatiently said.
"It's about Mr. Blake, you see, after Chloe had the abortion, she didn't take time off, and I didn't initiate it either. It's probably not good for her health, but I didn't think much of it at the time, I hope you don't mind," James explained.
"How do you know about her abortion?"
"Well... you see, after the surgery, she put the receipt on the desk and went to the restroom. The person next to her saw it and told me."
"Go on then," Donovan said, his office already filled with smoke. If she faked the pregnancy, why go through the trouble of getting a receipt?
"Is everything okay, sir?"
"Just go," Donovan said irritably, furrowing his brow.
James quickly left.
After work, Donovan didn't want to go home and sat alone in his office.
It was getting dark and he didn't turn on the lights or show any intention of leaving.
