Chapter 632 Chest Pain
Lately, Maya's been feeling pretty down. Jeffery's dad, Hayden Riley, had a video chat with her and vented about the crappy treatment he got while sorting out his retirement stuff. Since they're still technically a couple, he shared it with her. But with them being separated and Maya unable to help with Hayden's work drama, the stress built up, and now she's got some chest pain.
During a video call, Jeffery noticed Maya seemed off and asked what was up.
Knowing Jeffery was about to dive into a closed training session and wouldn't be able to leave, Maya didn't want to stress him out. So, she brushed it off, saying, "It's nothing, just feeling a bit tired today."
Normally, Jeffery wouldn't be too worried, but with his training coming up and knowing he wouldn't be around for a while, he was concerned.
Jeffery then called Hayden, who filled him in on the situation. Jeffery got why Maya was upset but felt stuck since he couldn't do much about it.
Charlotte showed up to see Jeffery, and someone filled her in on what was going on. She thought, "This is my chance to get closer."
After figuring out where Maya worked, Charlotte decided to pay her a visit.
Chloe had already told Jane to go see Maya and try to improve their relationship.
So, Jane showed up today, even bringing some homemade vegetable soup for Maya.
Then Charlotte arrived.
"Who are you?" Maya asked, seeing the pretty girl.
"I'm Jeffery's girlfriend," Charlotte said. "Jeffery was worried about you and asked me to check on you."
"So, it's you!" Jane said.
Turns out, Jane had met Charlotte at New East Group before. Jane quickly started plotting in her head.
Charlotte recognized Jane but didn't know she was a rival. So, Charlotte was all sweet, thinking Jane was just a family friend visiting Maya.
She even thought about asking Jane to put in a good word for her with Maya.
After all, they had met before while shopping for underwear, and Charlotte always thought it was "fate" between them.
But Jane saw it as bad luck.
Chloe and Donovan watched the scene, clearly entertained.
Donovan texted Charles: [Come over to my place.]
Charles had just woken up and replied: [Why?]
Donovan sent a pic of his living room to Charles.
Seeing the photo, Charles paused mid-toothbrush. Should he go?
He'd been pretty interested in Charlotte since they last met. Could it be that Donovan had invited her over?
Jane and Maya went into Maya's room, while Charlotte sat on a single sofa, chatting with Donovan and Chloe.
She looked really pretty and classy, and she was having a nice chat with Chloe.
Chloe hadn't seen her at the New East Group mall last time, but now that she did, she found Charlotte very attractive.
"What do you do for a living, Ms. Rose?" Chloe asked.
"My classmate and I started a tech company that specializes in drones," Charlotte said.
"High-tech stuff," Chloe remarked.
"Ms. Rose, can drones fly?" Francis was more interested in this.
"Of course. If you don't mind, I can give you one next time. When are you free?" Charlotte asked Francis.
Francis's eyes lit up immediately. "I'm free anytime."
"How about next week?" Charlotte suggested.
