Chapter 620 So Handsome
Just as she closed the bedroom door, Jane, with girlish fantasies, said to Chloe, "Jeffery is so handsome and gentlemanly. Be honest with me, if you didn't have Donovan, would you be with Jeffery?"
Chloe thought for a moment, "Probably, but the past is already set in stone."
Francis chimed in at the right moment, "Jane, do you have a crush on Jeffery? I hope you hurry up and win him over, so Jeffery will be one of us."
Jane flicked Francis on the forehead, "Kid."
Originally, Jane was quite calm about Jeffery being in the military, but now, with only a year left, she was getting impatient. She thought that with Jeffery's looks, he might catch the eye of some high-ranking officer's daughter, and by then, she would have no chance at all!
Jane was very troubled.
"Hang in there, just one more year," Chloe advised Jane. "If he's meant to be yours, he will be. If not, you won't get him anyway. Focus on making money and buying a big house."
"Okay," Jane thought. Within a year, she first needed to become wealthy.
While Chloe and Jane were chatting, Chloe suddenly received a message on her phone from an old college classmate.
"Chloe, why didn't you come to the reunion?"
"I was planning to, but something came up at home," Chloe replied.
"Chloe, do you remember our teacher Dwayne Larson from back in the day? At the reunion, we talked about how several classmates were bullied by him. We were too young and scared to speak up back then, but now that we're older, we're not afraid to talk about it. There were four or five classmates in our class who were bullied by him. Some were even assaulted, while others were sexually harassed. Chloe, he didn't harass you, did he? You were so pretty, we were all worried about you."
Chloe thought back. She was busy working to earn money for Amelia's medical bills and was rarely at school. She had only heard about Dwayne's actions when she returned to the dorm.
"No, I was rarely at school back then, as you know," Chloe replied.
"Well, we're planning to file a joint lawsuit against Dwayne. The whole class has signed it. Chloe, do you want to sign too? Of course, if you don't know about it, that's fine."
"What are you looking at?" Jane asked when she saw Chloe staring at her phone, deep in thought.
"We had a teacher who often bullied students. He got away with it several times and is still at the school. Our classmates are planning to report him," Chloe said.
The classmate had already sent over the drafted document, with signatures from over forty classmates, only missing a few who didn't attend the reunion or couldn't be contacted.
"Such scum should be reported! Scum, absolute scum!" Jane, being somewhat of a feminist, was naturally very angry about Dwayne's actions.
Without much thought, Chloe signed the document, thinking of the girls who had been victimized by Dwayne.
With today's advanced technology, the classmate had set up an online signature system.
"Alright, Chloe, I'll submit this to the police now," the classmate said.
"Okay."
Jane, in a good mood from seeing Jeffery today, was very happy to have dinner at Chloe's house.
She kept a close eye on Maya's expressions.
