Chapter 415 Chloe

"Alright, I'll tell him. You pick a spot. He's just a kid and doesn't know much," Maya said, excited after Donovan's promise.

"How about a restaurant at Pearl Peak City University?" Donovan suggested after thinking for a moment.

"Don't worry about saving him money," Maya replied.

"It's not that. I just want to eat at Pearl Peak City University," Donovan said thoughtfully. He wanted to go there not just because of Kenneth but also because of Chloe. Years ago, he had walked through the university with her one night.

"Okay," Maya agreed quickly.

"Looks like you won't meet the person Jeffery likes this time," Donovan said, looking at Maya.

"He didn't invite me; I just wanted to see for myself. He's hiding it and doesn't want me to go. It's fine if I can't. I don't mind," Maya said generously. "Mr. Blake, if you have something to do, Jeffery can take Francis. Jeffery can draw; let him teach Francis."

"Really?" Donovan asked, looking up at Maya.

When it came to Jeffery, Maya's face lit up with pride.

Jeffery grew up in an oil field, where life was tough. While Maya was working, his father was a mid-level manager at the oil field, leaving Jeffery with little supervision. Among the many kids growing up in that harsh environment, Jeffery was the leader—wild and mischievous, yet respected by everyone in the neighborhood. He taught himself how to draw, a skill he picked up without any formal instruction. Not only was he smart, but he was also an exemplary self-learner with impressive academic achievements.

Maya remembered Jeffery's childhood dream was to join the military. He thought wearing the uniform was impressive, but he didn't make it. He went to college instead. Maya once had his fortune told, and the wizard said it wasn't time for him to join the military yet.

"Jeffery can draw?" Francis asked excitedly. Drawing was something every kid liked, and Francis was no exception. His eyes lit up.

"Yes. Francis, you can play with Jeffery then," Maya said, patting Francis' head.

Donovan turned to Charles and asked, "When are we leaving?"

"You'll be notified!" Charles, feeling annoyed, stood up and left with a bad attitude.

"Dad, Charles is throwing a tantrum again. Don't get mad," Francis said, patting Donovan's chest.

Donovan smiled gently at Francis.

They left around nine the next morning, planning to let Francis stay at Kenneth's house for a few more days. It was Francis' first time going to Pearl Peak City, and he was excited the whole way.

When the car arrived at Kenneth's neighborhood, Donovan told the driver, "We'll get off here. You take Charles to the Stellar Corp."

As Donovan got out of the car, Charles asked reluctantly, "You're really not going?"

Donovan didn't answer and walked away with Francis.

He rested at home for the afternoon, and around five, he received a WhatsApp message from Jeffery: [Mr. Blake, my mom said you want to eat at Pearl Peak City University. I've booked a private room at Willowbrook Restaurant. Come over at six.]

Donovan checked his watch and decided to walk with Francis to enjoy the campus scenery. He remembered Chloe loved the scenery there.

"Francis, get ready. We're going to eat," Donovan said.

"Dad, is someone treating us to dinner?"

"Yes, Jeffery, Maya's son."

"Jeffery?" Francis was excited to hear it was Jeffery who could play basketball and draw.

"Yes."
