Chapter 617 Jeffery
"Kiddo, how do you know who I like?" Barbara asked Francis. However, when it came to Jeffery, Barbara felt happy inside.
"Because your phone's wallpaper is Jeffery. So, I just knew," Francis said calmly, as if he was completely unaware of being kidnapped.
"I want to video call Jeffery. Barbara, do you agree?" Francis asked Barbara.
Barbara had always wanted to video call Jeffery, but she was a bit shy.
Of course, she would love to video call Jeffery.
"Alright, but remember, you mustn't say you're in this place. Just say I took you out to play," Barbara threatened Francis.
"I won't say anything," Francis still looked as if he knew nothing.
While waiting for Jeffery to answer the video call, Barbara was anxious, hoping he would answer, yet also hoping he wouldn't.
The call connected.
From the video, Jeffery saw Francis.
"Francis?" Jeffery was very surprised, thinking: How did Francis end up on Barbara's phone?
"Jeffery, it's so nice to see you again," Francis said. From his side of the video, he had already seen a torn piece of paper on the wall with an address written on it, probably the address of this place. Francis wasn't very literate and couldn't read it, but he hoped it was the address.
"Francis, what are you doing?" Jeffery asked Francis.
"Barbara brought me to this place to watch her film a movie," Francis said, with an expressionless face.
Barbara saw Francis talking and didn't notice anything unusual, so she let her guard down. She was already tired and fell asleep leaning on the bed. Jacob was even more careless.
Jeffery, however, sensed something was wrong. "Brought by Barbara" meant he didn't come on his own, nor was he sent by Chloe; he was brought by Barbara. Chloe had told him before to stay away from Barbara, saying she wasn't a good person.
"Can you tell me where you are?" Jeffery asked.
Jacob immediately glared at Francis when he heard him ask for the address.
Francis pointed to the spot on the video where the piece of paper was and said, "Guess, Jeffery, guess. I don't know where I am either."
Jeffery thought: This is bad, it seems Francis has been kidnapped by Barbara.
"Alright, I have to go train now. Francis, say hi to your mom and dad for me when you get home," Jeffery said.
"Okay, Jeffery, bye." After saying that, Francis hid in the corner behind him.
Francis thought: I hope Jeffery understands what I said and comes to rescue me.
Jeffery quickly took leave from the camp, found a car, and drove to the location. His military base was only an hour's drive from Maple Valley, and now, the location Francis gave him was only twenty minutes away.
Twenty minutes later, Jeffery's car stopped at the warehouse door.
Jacob and Barbara hadn't even locked the door, so he kicked it open.
When Francis saw Jeffery, he thought he looked very heroic and handsome.
Jacob saw Jeffery and first asked in a daze, "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
"Let Francis go!"
Barbara woke up from her sleep. She had always had girlish fantasies about Jeffery, and when she heard him say "let Francis go," she was afraid Jeffery would misunderstand that she had kidnapped Francis. So she smiled and said, "What are you talking about? I just brought Francis here to play."
Jeffery ignored them and went straight to pick up Francis.
