Chapter 422 Reported Him
Chloe was fuming at home. She shot a WhatsApp message to Larry Price in admin: [Larry, first-year finance student Jeffery is harassing teachers and disrupting classes. Can you handle this?]
Larry replied: [Ms. Baker, we've heard about it. I'll take care of it tomorrow morning!]
Just after putting her phone down, Chloe got another message, this time from Cynthia: [Chloe, word about you and Jeffery has spread like wildfire—almost the entire school knows by now. Just think about it: you must have some serious charm. You've only just arrived, and already you've got Jeffery all worked up. I did some digging this morning, and apparently, there are plenty of girls who've been after him. Who would've thought he'd fall for you?]
[Don't mention it. I've already reported him!]
[Seriously? You've got this incredible situation, and you're complaining? Lighten up—there's no sense of fun with you!]
Chloe didn't care about fun; she reported him, and Larry agreed to investigate. She felt like she had something else to do but was too mad at Jeffery to remember.
Francis and Charles came back disappointed from their meeting spot. Earlier, Donovan had said he wouldn't go to Francis and Chloe's date, so Francis took Charles along. But Chloe didn't show up.
"You're back," Donovan said, seeing their disappointed faces.
"Chloe didn't come," Francis said, burying his head in Donovan's chest.
"I know."
Donovan's gaze was cold. He had a hunch she might not show up, but he didn't expect her to standFrancis up hanging without a call.
He gritted his teeth, thinking she either didn't care or was scared to see him.
Her skipping the meeting at Stellar Corp was a sign. Tomorrow, he and Charles would go to Stellar Corp to discuss the contract. Since it was a long-term deal involving many projects in Pearl Peak City, it needed careful consideration.
This time it wasn't a meeting, so she didn't need to attend. Since signing the contract wasn't convenient for Francis, he had just called Jeffery.
The next morning, at the admin office.
“Look at this mess! Ms. Baker is new here, and you're already causing this kind of trouble. You've made us all look bad! She's lodged a complaint against you. Everything else about you is great, but now, if this incident is dragging you down, what are you going to do? Are you still planning to find a job in the future?" Larry said, pounding his fist on the table, his tone heavy with concern as he spoke to Jeffery.
Jeffery stood straight, not responding.
"This hasn't caused serious consequences yet, so I'll give you a verbal warning! Don't let it happen again. You can go now." Larry knew Jeffery was a good student, a key player on the basketball team, and had won awards for his artwork. He was a rare talent.
Besides, dating was normal. Jeffery had no scandals in four years of college, and as soon as Chloe arrived, he fell for her. Love was something no one could stop.
"Say something!" Larry said.
"It won't happen again!" Jeffery said seriously.
"If she complains again, I'll have to take disciplinary action. Also, go take down the painting in the display case."
"Why take down such a beautiful painting?" Jeffery argued.
"Did the school ask you to put it up?"
Jeffery couldn't argue back.
"Take it down, or I'll have to discipline you."
Leaving the admin office, Jeffery headed to the cafeteria. Coincidentally, he ran into Chloe on the way.
