Chapter 461 Their Daughter, Rebecca
The next day at 10 a.m., the team went to the southern suburbs.
Chloe didn't have a car and couldn't drive, so she took a taxi.
It wasn't raining when she left, but it started to drizzle by the time she arrived. Standing in the open fields outside the city, she had to squint her eyes to check out the site. She saw Jeffery standing next to Timothy, taking notes on what Timothy was saying. He was very concentrated and only briefly glanced at Chloe when he saw her.
Things between her and Jeffery ultimately didn't work out.
Chloe held the umbrella in one hand, the other hand in her pocket, as she followed the group and listened to Timothy's explanation.
There was a woman in her forties, probably Caitlyn. She didn't know Chloe, and Chloe had never seen her before. She seemed a bit out of place among the group, as she was the only one from New East Group.
"Don't underestimate the southern suburbs; there has great potential for development in the future. Once our residential area is established, various facilities will follow suit, and property prices will rise. It wasn't easy for me to get this land," Timothy said.
As Chloe held her umbrella and listened to Timothy, she noticed a figure approaching from a distance.
It was Donovan.
In the vast open space, he walked toward them, step by step.
Chloe was reminded of the year they celebrated the Fantasia Festival, when he had come to her through the snow, and her heart fluttered slightly.
She had long believed that at her age, she was no longer susceptible to easily being moved, but seeing him still made her heart flutter like a young girl's.
Time had changed many things, but some things remained the same.
"Mr. Blake is here," Caitlyn said. "Shall we wait for him to continue?"
"Okay."
Chloe looked down at her feet, stepping on the mud, feeling a bit bored from the wait.
When Donovan came over, Chloe carefully observed his attire; a brown waterproof jacket, with raindrops rolling off it. It was indeed high-quality waterproof material.
He still didn't bring an umbrella.
As Chloe unconsciously stared at his clothes, Donovan glanced at her.
Catching his eye, Chloe quickly looked away.
"Mr. Blake, didn't you bring an umbrella? I have one here," Caitlyn said.
"No need," Donovan replied. "Go ahead. This place is quite large."
"Yes, we are going to build the largest residential community in Pearl Peak City here, with a shopping mall and hospital as part of the package. We haven't decided on a name for the residential community yet. How about you come up with one, Mr. Blake?" Timothy said.
The two company CEOs walked in front, with everyone else following behind.
"A name?" Donovan thought for a moment. "How about Rebecca?"
He turned to look at Timothy, who also paused to consider Donovan's suggestion.
Donovan could see Chloe out of the corner of his eye
Chloe suddenly paused, her hand clenched tightly, her face turning pale.
If he actually named the residential community "Rebecca," in the future, Rebecca Residential Community would be the largest in Pearl Peak City, along with Rebecca Hospital and Rebecca Shopping Mall...
Rebecca was their daughter who had passed away, who was also the daughter Chloe had always longed for.
Every time she thought of Rebecca, Chloe's heart ached.
"Mr. Blake, that's a good name. Did you come up with it a long time ago?" Timothy said with a smile.
"It's been a few years," Donovan replied.
Ever since Donovan mentioned "Rebecca," Chloe had become somewhat distracted as she trailed behind them
Then, Donovan's phone rang.
"Sorry, I need to take this call," he said to Timothy.
"Go ahead, Mr. Blake."
Donovan stepped aside to answer the phone. It was David on the line.
"Mr. Blake, we have a situation," David said.
